So if I was caught and punished at work for doing what John Terry did I'll get what? A months suspension from work and a couple hundred quid fine? The FA should make a point out of it. Ban him for 20 games. Then lets see who tries to 'banter' with opposing players like that again. Hold up, the FA got £220k out of this? Terry ...... what I can't get about this is that he gets half of Suarez' match ban and eleven times his cash fine ,,,,, what does that say? My take on the Director of football idea would be Levy saying he acknowledges he's not the best man for the job, and saying also that he has enough to do getting the stadium project up and running.
Terry was found not guilty in court because there wasn't evidence he used them words in an offensive way, the f a done him just for using the words regardless of whether they were meant to be offensive that's why he got less then suarez. @Raj The court found him not guilty of using racist language in that one incident when there was reasonable doubt that he wasn't guilty. Just because he didn't use that language that one time doesn't mean he isn't a racist. I still firmly believe that. Also the fa uses a different burden of proof to charge and sentence so they are fully capable of having their own hearing despite the court case

The mere fact that Levy seems to be backing the DoF project increases my respect for him. Good on him for realizing or at least acknowledging that he can't do it himself.
There used to be a time when the belief was "that what went on, on the pitch, stayed on the pitch". Everyone shook hands AFTER the game, and all went to have a beer together. In those days EVERYONE knew it was a heat of the moment thing.
There was also a time when being found not guilty in court was the end of it. So why does the FA stick its nose in?
The FA has trouble running the game. Where is the Goal Line Technology? Why are incompetent Refs. and Linemen not sanctioned for some horrendous errors. Why only 3/4 game bans for "leg breaker" tackles. It appears that the Dept. of Political Correctness has got in on the act.

Yes, it's been a great week for political correctness, with John Terry getting the punishment he was always lined-up for, and Rochdale Council and its social workers crucified for acknowledging that it's not impossible for a teenage girl to be 'up for it' (to put it no more explicitly), without having to be drugged or raped - God knows what will happen to this teacher from Sussex when he's eventually brought to book - hanging,drawing and quartering will clearly be too good for him!
