You've destroyed our club

Dear Mr Levy,

Thank you.

Thank you for completing me. I was a straitjacket short of a padded cell. But now I have it all. There’s even a little foam on the corner of my mouth. So thank you for my current state of mind, a consequence of you systematically dismantling the great club that Harry Redknapp built with his bare hands. Thank you for this empire of dirt, these ashes in a broken urn you have left for myself and my brethren to mourn over. Thank you for the cataclysm. Please send in the doctors. Order me a lobotomy, save me from witnessing further disgrace. Any minute now, Keith Burkinshaw will appear as a vision to remind me that there was once a football club here. You’ve managed to reanimate the dead after the wilderness of the 1990s only to bury it alive. You are accountable for this shambolic mess. But it’s okay, it’s of no major personal concern to you. It's all gone wrong so you can easily point the blame at the fall guy you’ve appointed in place of Harry then hire the next mug in or simply beg Redknapp to return to fix this crisis.

You didn't back Villas-Boas on purpose which means your failure is really a clever little escape clause. I know your game. Waiting until the final day to do business because you know how improbable it is to get the job done so late in the transfer window. You signed Dempsey because you knew Moutinho wouldn’t happen. Why would it when there are so many complexities involved in his transfer? So many that a day’s worth of hard graft was nigh impossible to iron them all out. He was Villas-Boas number one target and you purposely side-stepped it so that the money from the Luka Modric transfer can sit in that diamond encrusted shoe box under your bed. Hugo Lloris, another mastermind manoeuvre although you seem to have ballsed this one up. The player actually signed in the end, even with your attempts to stall and change the offer made to Lyon during negotiations. How dare you show such contempt for opposing clubs, a blatant reluctance to play into their hands and accept their demands over your own? Who the hell do you think you are? Shameful you are representative of THFC. How dare you cater for your own interests, nursing your agendas. You make my skin crawl.

Where was the £30M bid for Falcao? Llorente? Leandro? You were too busy pushing out club legend Rafa van der Vaart and failing to match valuations for our other alleged targets. You know the ones, refresh NewsNow or tune into Sky Sports News, they had a long list of them. Oh but wait, you signed Dembele. Whoop de doo. Let’s raid Fulham and it will be a-okay. In January we should look at pillaging Reading and if we’re feeling really really ambitious we can swagger on up to Anfield and pluck some of their gems.

We’re really aiming high aren’t we? If it was up to you Dawson, Defoe and Huddlestone would have been thrown onto the scrap-heap alongside Ledley King, cruelly casted out whilst you allow ex-gooners like Adebayor get richer at the cost of hiking up our season tickets. Oh wait, newsflash, you've improved the catering at White Hart Lane. Well that's okay then. At least we won't cry our eyes out at the disarray on the pitch on empty stomachs. To add further insult to injury we are now that little club in England that Jose can tap up if he wants something new for his big team in Madrid. Should I burn my Gareth Bale shirt now or wait until his transfer is confirmed next summer? I just can't get over this transfer window and your last minute attempts at signing players. Do you set your alarm to go off on the last day of August as a reminder to do some business? But it's all good isn't it? Because you can now swap Panini stickers with Florentino Pérez and share up-skirt pictures via instant messenger. He looks the type.

I’m furious.

There used to be a football club here...

You have once more screwed this club over. Selling off players along with that aforementioned refusal to meet the demands of other chairman, preferring instead to bully and play with them until they are tearful and broken. You need to consider other people’s feelings, our feelings, and stop being so self-absorbed on this ‘project’ you seem to be running into the North London ground. We’ve got money, I know we have. We sold Modric, so splash it around a bit. You saving it for a rainy day? We’re rich. That bloke who lives out in the Bahamas, he’s a billionaire God damn it.

We should be signing Champions League quality players and paying them a kings ransom to wear our shirt. But oh no, God forbid you speculate to accumulate. Let me guess, boo hoo, we need money for the stadium. Bore off. What stadium? You think a bit of scaffolding and cement mixers can fool me?

As for Villas-Boas, you've out done yourself there. The closest he ever got to playing football was reading a book about it and learning tactics and formation on a computer. He shouldn't be managing a Sunday league club let alone us. He's a researcher at best. Who's next in line? Anthony Costa? We never played this poorly under Redknapp. I refuse to give him a chance, I simply refuse. Anything below 4th is a disgrace and we're currently 14th. Unacceptable and believe me I'm being patient here. I was patient on Saturday against Norwich. I didn't start to abuse the manager until late on. I waited until the 15th minute. This isn't a transition, it's a crisis!

I've been a supporter for decades but I will never set foot back into White Hart Lane again until you are removed and gone. Okay, granted, the restraining order doesn't allow me within a mile of the stadium, but my disdain will see me boycott EA Sports games and not purchase any Under Armour gear. Apart from one of the white training tops which looks spiffing. So have some of that corporate Tottenham.

The points lost at the start of the season because of your reluctance to do business early and get in the players to replace the departing ones have cost us any chance of finishing top four. Our season is OVER. Have you looked at the table? MIND THE GAPS. Plural, that's plural.

You have sold our soul to the devil, then nicked it back, then sold it back to us only to then take a reward from the devil when pointing him in the direction of his stolen property. This, this ugly abomination of a club is what you've birthed from your greed and self-absorption. I am Gregory Peck in The Omen when he digs up that coffin in the ruined cemetery to find a jackal's skeleton in Damien's mother's grave. I'm Gregory f**king Peck! You've turned us all into Gregory Peck!

I hope you like the number ten. It’s not a shirt number Daniel. It’s the position we'll be sitting in come May. And the number 666 is no doubt glistening with pride somewhere on your body.

Yours devastatingly,

Spooky

Satire or not its all true. I say all, all true! 'Corporation Tottenham' cuts deep, but its all spot on! Levy is no Totenham fan, Red and Black are the only colours he see's. The boo boys at the lane on Saturday were correctly pinned by Redknapp, 'morons'. They are targeting the wrong man/men, and its embarrassing. Avb has been back-stabbed by the one person he thought had his back..we're only three games in! will he see ten? unlikely. In what Universe is replacing Modric and Vdvaat with Dembelle and Dempsey a step forward.
We all know that hes keeping every penny he can to get this stadium up and running, for one reason and one reason only..the big pay-day..selling for a ridiculously high price to the first mug who'll pay! Weather the person will have solid financial backing or not will be irrelevant. I fear for my Tottenham.

Faith and trust should be left to the loons he run around believing in gods and declaring war on each other.

'Fact' is AvB has an abysmal record in English football, so please direct me to the basis of your faith in him. I thought he was shit at Chelsea (as you all did, admit it) and I think he has done shit so far at Spurs - I dont think anyone can argue with these points? He may well go against all evidence and turn it around - but everything suggests not.

Obviously open to being shown exactly what the basis of this trust in him is.

Ive been a supporting since the age of 5, im now 57!! I was at some painful games, including the night Arse won the championship at WHL 1-0 (now thats what you call pain)!!

I watched yesterdays game and I've read most of the posts over the last 2 days. I was so gutted yesterday, that I forced the entire family into the car and drove to WHL at 7:30pm in the hope that I would see Levy leave the stadium - if I had, I would have been on the 10 o'clock news!!

I think im pretty level headed, sometimes excitable but generally of a calm nature. I've thought about our situation quite a lot, transfers, our formation, the players we have lost, the new stadium, balancing the books, contracts, the lot!!

I can understand the Levy issues. We need £500 million to build this stadium! think about it, £500 million - he balanced the books last week, probably spending £ 1 million from the Spurs bank. At the same time, we bought "average" players in the hope that they would step up and they may!! At the same time, we need to build the team in a steady and progressive but viable way. Building a team of superstars with average salarys of £120k per week and at the same time spend £500 million building the stadium do not go hand in had unless ENIC puts its hands in its deep pockets and pays £500 million in cash for the stadium - and that aint going to happen.

Redknaap was getting there, working within the financial constraints of ENIC but getting us top 4 consistently. However, his mouth was too big and off he went!

In comes AVB - a 1 season wonder in Portugal in a division that 99% of its teams would struggle in our championship and a complete failure with Chelski.

And so here we - from the highs of last season to - 3 games - no wins - 2 points and a set of fans that have had enough!!

I was willing to give AVB time, but to do this, I must write off this season and probably the next. To do this season would mean a 6th, 7th 8th position, no cups and knocked out of the Europa cup. This would lead us to become a very unattractive team to join and as you can imagine, its a simple downward spiral thereafter. So what - well we end up being an average team with a super stadium!!

So where do we go from here? Give AVB time, say another 10 games? I was willing to do this, but selection, substitutions, formations and tactics have led me to think - DOES HE REALLY KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. He has been with the club for a month. Are you telling me he does not see that Sandro is better than Livermore, that Defoe cant play as a target man, that we cant defend a 1-0 by defending!! But then i think, is he trying to change our DNA, learn to defend a 1-0 lead, turn Defoe into a mobile single forward, turn Livermore into a world class player! I see we were a bag of nerves - are we surprised? are the players confused, are they angry with the sunstitutions, are they angry with tactics - is this what happened at Chelski?

I dont have the answers, yes I want a new stadium (we should of had one 5 years ago), yes i want to play attractive free flowing football (like last season), yes i want to win the league (cant remember the last one - 1962?), yes I want to be European Champions (???) - but then i think - well how long is this going to take and how much cash will it take and what manager/owner can help us achieve this.

I then realise that this there is one common thread in all this and thats MONEY!! The Levy way will take us another 10 years - 5 years for the stadium and then another 5 years to create a team good enough to challenge the best. If i want this tomorrow, then i need to look east - Russia, the Middle East or Asia. In the meantinme, get used to winning nothing!

Where am I going with this, like AVB and the team - not sure!!

For sure its not as simple as some of you think it is! there are books to balance, there is a stadium to build and we do want the best team - unless you have a bottomless cash pit like City or Chelski, none of this will happen together.

AVB - well I feel like the players - no confidence, scared, confused and thinking, does he really know what he is doing!! Unless he gets us going and soon - we, no sorry he will be in big trouble!!

Levy - well he is ahard nosed business man that has a larger ego tha Arry! We cant even demonstrate or complain as we are not share holders anymore. The only way we can have our voice heard is by boooooooooooooing and by not renewing our season ticket - now the latter will really hurt him, but it will also hurt the club we love!

I cant help going back to the Arry days, what a selfish bastard he was! Funny, his lawyers are on the 5th floor of my office. He was in twice over the last 2 weeks - without his dogs! What will I say if I meet him in the lift? " Arry, will you come back?"

So what do we want, what do we really want, and are we willing to wait??

.

Don't tell people what to the think and feel. Spooky you used to keep an odd sense of objectivity which you have lost in the last two days.

The tone of this article article appears to have eluded a fair few who've commented, totally oblivious to the fact it's actually aimed at them. Hook, line and sinker....

Lest we forget, we were in a similar position this time last year as the Modric saga proceeded to completely destabilise the team. I appreciate the circumstances were different, but the point is that after a dreadful start, a dozen or so games later we were third. Of course we'd love to have had a smooth transition, but how likely was that? Give the man a chance to implement a system that will compliment the new look squad before trashing him. Who knows, he may decide 4-3-3 doesn't work with the players he's got and try something else. Let's judge him on those sorts of decisions shall we?

I have already bagged all my spurs shirts up ready to send back in disgust or if any mug wanting them just ask they can have them and for those people who ask for time!!! your going to suffer, the way levy has treated us its un called for, we all know it Rednapp has had a lucky eacape from this utter joke and I truly hope he takes over a potencial top side so he can come back to the lane and show " THE JOKE " what he let go. Championship next year and hopefully Mr Lewis will see the problem that has been over the years ( Mr Levy ) please sell the club and be gone ASAP. This hurts by the way.

I really hope your joking you absolute cretin. The team that Harry built, harry built nothing, harry worked with the players that Levy brought in with his brilliance of negotiating, your the kind of fan that makes me sick. Go and wear red, because your not wanted at White Hart Lane

Effing genius article taking the piss out of the delusional impatient fans tearing at the lane doors baying for AVB and Levy's blood. Spooky you deserve the title of Sir Spooky after this article.

Trouble is the band wagon brigade will see this and say you are their new leader and voice of White Hart Lane and blindingly cant see you ripping the crap out of them but hey they are delusional to start with.

Levy thankfully will be there long after any manager and continuing to do his best for Spurs (make no mistake there's no other motive than for Spurs and if you think it's for some big sale down the line you are deluded). He's should embarrass the other financially inept administrators in the premiership and every manager & Chief Exec in Europe knows he's that good. Make no mistake If he left us they'd queue up for him.

Now, onto Harry who simply had to go because this happened (in chronological order), 1) England job comes up, 2) he's linked and won't rule himself out but tells us it won't affect the team because "players don't care who the manager is", 3) Offered a contract but "theres no hurry", 4) we beat Newcastle at home (5-0 very soon after), 5) we go on a downward spiral which is ONLY arrested ONCE Roy gets the England job, 6) Harry decides that actually of course if matters that the players know who the manager is and whatever we do don't let that manager go into his last year!, 7) Harry repeats this mantra on Sky Sports daily during the Euros before finally raising it on Match of the Day when Levy had a family death. Aside from annoying Levy with this, I'm sure he realised that once Roy gets the boot (which he will because he'll do as little with England as he's done with every team he's managed) Harry will be up for it and to it again.

So, he gets us AVB (see his Porto work to see why Abramovich spent £15M JUST to release him from his contract!) who simply wasn't backed in his last job and had he had control I think would have done something special there too. Now rather than go back on the management merry go-round again (& Guardiola wont be coming probably & most likely EVER lets not kid ourselves), I'd personally rather see where this one takes us even if means we aren't challenging right at the very top come the end of the season.

Finally, & most importantly, FFS don't ever end up holding the same opinion as Adrian Durham on any subject too (that even includes his opinion on Wenger).

i dnt know what to say, im very worried about our future. a new ground is a must, so we can compete with the bigger clubs, we have a top training ground already in place so we are getting there but these things cost money alot of money. i know us fans just want sucsess and we had it under harry for all his faults he lead us to 2 top four finishes, but that was'nt enough for us. so what if he went on abit liked the sound of his own voice idid'nt care we were winning and playing sexy football.i think if avb cant turn it around let all the fans get together and not blame avb but the owners lets show them that we are not going to stand for this mess, we had top 4 in are hands and the owners took it away. look at blackburn i dnt want to end up like them but so i hope avb turns it around. come on spurs fans dnt let are owners screw us anymore.

Sep 2, 2012 at 9:40 PM | Unregistered Commenterpaul

If only we had an owner like the one Liverpool have. We could spend 35m on a striker then loan him out a year n half later to a championship promoted team. Amazing! For however good dempsey will or won't be for us, I would still hate to have lost out by not being able to come up with the funds for such a cheap quality proven premiership goalscorer, considering their most expensive striker was allowed to leave first.
Basically, we'll be fine. Just fine. We are Tottenham, Super Tottenham, from the Lane!
And anyway, there's always the January window to look forward to.

Firstly, I would like to say that I am just as disappointed as many of you at the start we have had. After an encouraging performance in the first game of the season against Newcastle, the displays we have seen since have left a lot to be desired.
While there are many contributing factors to Spurs stuttering start to the new campaign, it is VITAL that we as supporters get behind the club and more importantly the team.
And to be fair, despite what can only be considered an AWFUL display yesterday against an average looking Norwich team, the majority of supporters did.

Lets be honest, dropping points against teams we should brush aside isn't anything new for us Spurs fans, although rarely have I seen us present such opposition with so many chances , while we create so few.

For me, the balance of the team isn't quite right and while I DO BELIEVE AVB IS THE RIGHT MAN to take the club forward, it is imperative he makes the right call in terms of team selection for the next match, if he is to avoid the boos that rang out around WHL at full-time becoming a regular occurrence.
Here is a list of three things AVB must do in order to win the confidence of the WHL faithful:

1. Pick a team that he believes can play on the front foot, win games and entertain, AND not choose players JUST to maintain squad harmony. In my opinion, AVB has been trying a little too hard to change public perception, in terms of his team selection, in my opinion. The fact that he deployed two holding midfielders, at home against Norwich, told me that rather than drop one in order to play someone who had just walked through the door, he was eager to give the players in possession of the shirt a fair crack at keeping it, thus showing his faith in the people in question and appearing as fair. The same could probably be said about Defoe up front, although Jermain has probably been our stand-out performer in the early stages of the season. While I can appreciate the sentiment, AVB MUST realise that he is in a particularly unique position, as a new manager, of having to hit the ground running with results, given the what happened to him at his last post, and therefore must win games as well as win the hearts and minds of his players.

2. Substitute Livermore ahead of Sandro. While this may sound just like a fans favouritism coming into play, I can assure you that it is much more structured recommendation than that. The simple fact is Sandro offers the team more than Livermore can at this moment in time. He is a better ball winner, protects the back four more efficiently, is prepared to greater responsibility ( as his surging runs from deep highlight) reads the game easier from a defensive stand point AND offers us the height that IS so important when defending set-pieces in the EPL. Truth is, Sandro IS a far greater asset to the team and the sooner AVB realises that the better!

3. Think about switching Vertonghen to Left back and bringing on another centre-half WHEN defending a lead. The reason is simple as this is a tactic that allows us greater stability defensively, without needing to change our overall shape/formation.

Replacing the 'brains' we lost in the shape of Modric and VDV is also a must. While Dembele is a great signing, he ISN'T the brain-box we need to run the show in midfield. Don't be surprised to see Moutinho arrive in Jan. Remember it is still early days. KEEP THE FAITH

You guys need to be patient. Wow 3 games have gone, this times at year we had only beaten wolves 2-0 after being decimated by the two Manchester clubs. Then the minute we went on that run everyone loved redknapp. Fucking admit that he should've been sacked after losing focus and bailing on us after he thought he'd bagged the England job. Spooky you're fucking plastic, I haven't seem redknapp win a treble at the age of 23, hes only won the fucking fa cup which is nothing compared to AVB, nobody cares that it was Portugal, he won 3 trophies while going a domestic campaign unbeaten. Give him some fucking time, the signings yes we're Levys fault but he got some players in. It was the teams fault we lost a lead near the end of the match, take it up with them, but no they're all perfect. If we'd have won you'd have all been happy, we made some bargain signings and AVB has said he needs time so give him some time for fucks sake, you plastic fans that call for a bosses head after 3 fucking matches, turning into chelsea all of a sudden, especially you spooky, give him time

Sep 2, 2012 at 9:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterIn AVB I trust

Also I think this would be a great opportunity for us to finally codify what it means to follow Spurs.
I'd hate to think that any of us might think or act differently.
This can all easily be avoided if you would kindly turn this blog in a "how to" guide. That way none of us would stray from the true path.
Ta.

I vote we re-sign B.Daines, G Smith, G Armstrong, C Armstrong, T Naylor. Problem solved.

Modric Mr. Wonderful, Mr. Marvelous Eh!!! Did he score in his first game? Did he do it after only playing 20 minutes in his first game, no he didn't, he will not be Modric maybe, but we have a got real GEM in Dembele and you will have forgotten Modric ever lived after a few games, Mark My Words. Think Spurs positively, there are too many bad supporters on this blog. Tottenham fan since 1937 and I have faith.

On another point, people are saying AVB "doesn't have a clue" and the league in Portugal is nothing special. Have anyone actually looked at Porto's 2010/11 season?

Does it not register how they demolished every team they played in Europa League (not just sneaking past anyone bar possibly Sevilla). They also won their league by 21 points. AVB took over in June (i.e. just that season & had his first trophy two months later). Porto had finished third the season before.

Surely that sounds like someone worth giving a proper chance too. Why is it always us who packs the family up in the car and heads round to the lane to lynch the chairman after a couple of games at the start of the season. Embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, it kills me too that we couldn't beat Norwich after Fulham hammered them but I have a feeling AVB will be special if we just leave him to it and in the end I even think we'll be lucky to hang on to him.

Final word for me on Levy too. If Moutinho's terms meant breaking our wage ceiling then let him go. I'd rather 4th or 5th or even top ten every year than do a Leeds. Our wage ceiling has kept us competitive in transfer terms. Man City & Chelsea et al are in a different league to everyone else (EPL). No point thinking we can compete there but Newcastle & Everton show it doesn't necessarily need to be that way. Hopefully our new academy will attract good young players and if we undo Harry's reserve team removal too which will help bring them on.

Rubbish, and sadly predictable, article! Yes Levy has made mistakes, but he only ever does so by doing what he believes is right for the club. Spurs were going nowhere before Levy came in. FACT. I for one wouldn't swap him for ANY chairmen in the world, Russians and all. Not only is he running a steady ship in terms of finance, but he has given the club vision and in doing so acquired some of the best talent in europe, Bale,Modric, Sandro and Lloris to name but a few. He has built us a state-of-the-art training complex and is currently in the process of finding the finance to build a new stadium. An astute negotiator, Levy ensures our great club isn't being taken for mugs by the Super-Heavyweights in European football in terms of selling AND buying at a price that best serves our club.
So, he missed out on moutinho, tell me a club in the EPL,outside the Champs League, that could/would even attempt to bring in a player of that ilk? and who's to say we won't sign him in Jan!
We have just brought in a world class GK in Lloris, an extremely talented midfielder in Dembele and a player that scored 15 plus goals in the EPL last season in Dempsey. Prior to that we brought in Siggurdson and Vertonghen, both of whom wanted to join the club ,without a manager, based upon Levy selling them his vision.

While I acknowledge that Dempsey was a panic buy, its not a particularly bad one at £7-9 million is it?

To say Harry Redknapp was the man who built the club is ridiculous at best! This is the same Harry that wanted to parade a 36 year old Beckham in a Spurs shirt.....Along with Distin, David James, Gareth Barry, Phil Neville, Patrick Viera and Ryan Nielsen.

At least give write something with a bit of substance before inflicting this one-eyed fans nonsense upon us.

Poorly thought-out and poorly written article! Do us all a favour and go back to supporting arsenal.

Dont know if the artical is satire or not, it so, it's not very funny because this is how I feel.
Since AVB has took over he has destroyed this club
It's almost as if Levy doesn't want Champions League football
AVB needs to go and go now

Clearly this is a joke and if its not the only thing that is Spooky is how clueless you are. Things needed to change Harry has had ove 1000 managerial games and only won one trophy against Cardiff. AVB is half his age and won more in one season than Harry has in his whole career. Chelski are a joke they swooped for what was one of the most successful and brightest managers in Europe, paid £15million to bring him and then didn't support him??? No one can say our chairman isn't radical, forward thinking and pro-active. He makes decisions and doesn't get pushed around and whilst not always popular, has he really done that bad? I look at the EPL and ask what other chairman would we want. Apart from chelski & Mercenary City, who between them have ruined football we have a guy running a club which IMO punches way above its weight and we need to get real and behind our club and team. When we get a 55,000 seater stadium we will be challenging the top three that I am sure off. In truth Spurs have been pretty awful since since May last year, we were tactically nieve and whilst at times the football was breathtaking, we always new that the wheels would fall off. Anyone watching that capitulation at Wembley last year surely should agree that Harry should have been fired there and then, it was embarrassing. Against Norwich we did look clueless at times and yes its frustrating but we have to give AVB time and support to get his team out and his philosophies across, it make me sick to the stomach how our clueless supporters (sorry they aint supporters boo our team after three games, why dont you just FCUK off - Just remember when Ferguson was appointed Man U manager in 1986 "Three years of excuses and it's still crap...ta-ra Fergie." was displayed at Old Trafford, and many journalists and supporters called for Ferguson to be sacked.Ferguson later described December 1989 as "the darkest period [he had] ever suffered in the game", as United ended the decade just outside the relegation zone, the rest as they say is history. Keep the faith, support change and get ready it may end in tears, but can we honestly say Levy doesn't want the best for Spurs?

OK it's clear that this is wind up, but let's dispense with the myth that Levy is some sort of business god who is driving this club forward with his astute thinking. His transfer dealings are predictably based on screwing or saving the last penny every time by dragging them out to the last possible second. He has come unstuck this time with Moutinho because Porto refused to blink before the bell went and we are now left with midfield void that's not been filled.

And let's not forget that he wasted 2 precious years playing politics, and losing, over the Olympic Stadium when we should have been getting on with the solution that we are only just starting now.

cant we just be worried about how badly the team played without being labelled as "unsupportive"?

Sep 2, 2012 at 10:42 PM | Unregistered CommenterTQ

Masterful spooky. And true to current fan form theres a list of people below agreeing with it. Apparently Llorente 'should' have been tied down to a 4 year contract - cos a) we obviously have that money to spend b) we just chuck it his way (portsmouth style) and he signs - thats how it works on football manager right? Ignore the fact that no-one has managed to prise him away from bilbao, and that the only basis for thinking he might even have been a remotely realistic target is one dodgy rumour on deadline day. But fuck it, Levy's shit and I demand DEMAND that i be entertained IMMEDIATELY

Spooky - surely your finest piece to date, whether readers agree with it or not. Very well done.
Now please stop smashing your head off the wall. First thing to remember is that a lot of bloggers on here are yanks - and with the best will in the world they will never ever `get` irony or sarcasm or satire.
A few points here - a glance at our results last season shows that our 4th place finish was a freak thanks to Chelsea being so shite. Yes that was partly due to AVB, but he is our manager now so let`s get behind him.
Moutinho - we couldn`t agree personal terms because he was greedy and wouldn`t accept our pay structure. So be it.
The transfer window is not last day Friday. During that window we signed Vertonghen, Sig, Ade, Lloris, Dembele, Dempsey and renewed contracts for Walker, Lennon, Bale and Defoe. Not bad business considering no CL.
VDV - thanks but 10mil for a player who is injury prone and can`t play 90mins? Fair business.
We traditionally DON`T sign top drawer players. Bale, Modric were effectively made in Tottenham.
I don`t see a particular need for directly replacing Modric with a playmaker I would rather the entire midfield were capable of creating. That said, Dembele looked class on Saturday, hungry for the ball and able to use it. More than we saw from Modders in the last half of last season.
DL egotistical? I think not. When`s the last time you saw him talking to the cameras, lapping up the credit for his dealings? Unlike many chairmen who love the limelight.
I honestly wish the new stadium plans were scrapped and see the present one filled with fewer proper fans so that the whingers on here would piss off and glory hunt to their hearts content.
Spooky? JC? Epic? Agreed?

Some of the comments on here could easily be mistaken for something off of RAWK. This comment sections is beyond shameful. Embarrassed that some of you root for the same club I do. Get some fucking perspective.

look were only 1 point less than last season lost 2-1 toons, 1-1 wba, 1-1 interbreeds yet last season lost heavily to both Manchester clubs NO one was asking for harry to be sacked. AVB should be given a chance if only till Xmas. we played great against the toon (if only we had a striker) it was only because levy is such a twat and always fucking us up with dealings leaving it till the last min of transfer day when they should have been sorted as soon as AVB was appointed so the team could gel pre-season now were in the shit. i have never seen us play so poorly at the lane. another person i will mention is Joe Lewis he is only at spurs for profit not the football club or he would get some of him billions out and buy some decent players. Moutinho should have been snapped up, Llorrente should have been signed and Leandro should have been signed 3 seasons ago for £18m. but levy the tight git who likes playing with our lovely spurs. if or when AVB fails would i welcome back harry YES to right as long as he concentrates on the club and gives 100%. but i cant see that ever happening. harry looked sorry for us on motd last night. all i can say is im Tottenham till i die and will follow them whatever (To Dare is To Do) COYS!!!!!!

Give me a break, Moe. I seriously doubt that all the people who missed the irony here are yanks. Judging from the spelling and slang used in the more 'earnest' responses here, most of those who have fallen for it are in fact English.
And besides--if this is the best you Brits can do in the satire department, no wonder you needed us to help win WWII for you :)

Timothee Atouba elbowded Joey Barton in the face when we played a Shit Man City team in 2005 we won 2-1. I am so glad that prick Barton isn,t playing in the EPL now. sometimes satire can be the truth. let's look at what is true. levy left the big deals to the very last minute, as he always does (and it seems to be a deliberate ploy to create and nurture his image as the toughest negotiator in EPL) and that has two consequences. it creates a seller's market because invariably it is the buyer who needs most, as was certainly the case with us, and that puts the buyer at a price disadvantage which only intensifies as the deadline approaches. secondly, it enhances the chances of sod's law kicking in, that is the chance that something unanticipated can happen to screw up the deal. that is exactly what happened in the case of moutinho. i don't think it is possible to understate the importance of not signing him. he was AVB's big target, his arrival would have been a morale booster after modric's departure and the guy is objectively a great footballer. but it didn't happen so AVB has been frustrated, morale has dipped (witness the debacle on the pitch on saturday) and spurs are denied the services of a great player who could have made all the difference. that undeniably did happen and it is down to daniel 'a day late and a dollar short' levy. he is to blame. the buck stops at his desk. and by the way look at his track record over the more than decade he has been in the top seat - it is less than inspiring. so, yes, satire notwithstanding, i would blame him for all this and its consequences which likely will be one of the worst seasons since the 1990's. that doesn't make me hysterical. it in fact confirms a judgement about 'a day late and a dollar short' for a very long time. i held that view about levy long before the norwich game. and notice i am not blaming AVB. of all involved in this unhappy affair he is the least at fault. levy must go, it is very simple. remember: a fish rots from the head downwards!

VB and the players need time, the problem is, will levy give it to him? I agree with pretty much most things you say spooky but I sometimes think you are not balanced in your reasoning towards Harry. I am not, and was not a massive fan, but the way you carry on its like he did no good at all. One of the things I liked most during VB's first press conference was his acknowledgment of Harry's good work. Now, it's obvious he lacked in the strategy department but do you really think it was just "run around a bit". Do you know what I liked most about Harry. For the first time in decades, he provided us with a team that had a spine, a team that, when it scored first at the lane, you could rest assured we would see out the game. Anyway, I digress, I was in favour of Harry leaving and not opposed to VB, just think you've been a bit one sided recently. I was proud of our fans response after the Newcastle match, even though the result was poor. Booing is not on, but is it wrong in itself? No, just ludicrous it's this early on in the season, but at what point do you allow fellow fans to vent frustration. Ramos had the 8 games with our infamous 2 point tally, I think it's safe to say will will get a few more points in the next 5 games, maybe playing away will be a good thing, less pressure???? The source of my worry comes from levy not giving him time. Not signing moutinho was a bad move. I accept the fact that levy will never change his philosophy, because, to him, the financial benefits far outweigh anything else. Ade and moutinho could of been in the USA with the rest of the lads in preseason. If it was about money then don't sign Dempsey or Lloris. Love the shirt. Always. COYMFS

calm down every one ,I think Ihave a heavy weight pressing on my shoulders, we must be able to beat norwich , I thought sat lunch time waiting for 3pm, then I listened on radio and they said we werent playing well and norwich deserved their equalizer(whats edward woodward doing playing for fucking norwich ) then game over 1 1 bollocks depression set in . I'm pissed off just like the rest of you, lets hold the faith , we love this club and the only constant is the fee paying fans (US) so lets stay strong and see what happens , the only good thing from saturday was the speed of dembele's shot without backlift . lets get behind them ......... i loved harry ,but the king is dead , long live the king , lets stop keep calling him AV FUCKING B FOR A START villas boas will do and 3 points against reading , otherwise even my patience will be tested , my 17 year old son rang me sat night , " Dad,I think I 'll forget about football till we turn the corner , I can understand his sentiments , but as for someone who has supported spurs since 1967 8 years old , I cant let it go , when we lose or draw
it fucks up my weekend , I'm sure in my heart of hearts Daniel levy is as passionate about spurs as we all are .KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON .for now anyway come on u spurs !!! lets play some nice football like we have been doing!! TW 54YEARS OLD

Ha! Come to think of it, this is probably why your leaders have liked to call our trans-Atlantic relationship "special."
Funny that it's the same b.s. term that Levy uses for our deep new bond with Real Madrid post-Luka.
I only hope that Levy shows a little more spine in this "special relationship" than you do :)

there once was a sparrow flying in the sky, when along came a cockrel and punched him in the eye, that poor little bird fell on the floor and the poor little sparrow could not fly anymore!

Well that makes as much sense as the ramblings of the original post, just thought I would share it with you

Spooky do you write stuff like this just to bring the nutters out into the light?

I don't get why people keep going on about AVB & Levey 'dismantling' a top four team. Who's gone? Modric? The guy was on strike for gods sake. VDV? Yeah, good player, but we have bought in similar, youger, fitter players that fit more to managers plans and more to the point sold him for twice as much we would get in a year. Who else has actually been got rid of, of any great loss?

Arry's gone, get over it, things change. With any manager going into any business, he needs to change personnel and there will be a transition period. Give the man a chance to do his job
