Niko, why you mad?
Quotes via the Daily Mirror. Let's assume nothing has been lost in translation, which is the usual get-out clause for wordy ranting.
Kranjčar has accused Levy of being a liar and breaking his promise to sell Luka this summer and also guilty of condemning the players behaviour (failure to turn up to training/US tour). Niko also backs 'the strike' (what strike? the one where he ends up back in training?)
Here's the quotes:
"I know that the chairman talked to him face to face last autumn. He promised Luka he would let him go, and now he's condemning him.
Levy did everything to protect the interest of the club and make a profit. He has also used lies to deceive the public, which is allowed in business, but if you were in Luka's shoes, you would probably do the same as him".
Okay, so firstly, Levy is the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur and leads ENIC and as much as you and me might not wish to perceive football as a business, it is. Profit is what drives the club forward to be able to build and develop, both structurally and on the pitch. Protecting the interest of the club? That's why he's the chairman Niko. Promising Luka can leave is hardly going to be a promise without one or two caveats. The main one being that any interested party must meet our valuation of OUR player. A player with four years left on his contract. Is there a cultural issue here with mathematics?
"To have an offer from Real Madrid is a once-in-a-career opportunity. I'd do anything to get to Santiago Bernabeu, playing for Real Madrid is the greatest privilege in any footballer's career, even if I prefer Barcelona. That's why I understand Luka"
Okay, so you just joined a club but you're sort of indirectly whoring yourself to the two biggest clubs in world football to prove why it's so important for Luka to play there? You can quite easily get to Santiago Bernabeu if you want. Book a flight, get a taxi. Have a look around, they do tours.
"In my three years at White Hart Lane, I never had lunch or a serious talk with the president. There was no need. It's not customary for bosses to invite you for a cup of coffee, even if you're their next-door neighbour like I was, in Cuffley. I know from my own experience how difficult these people are and how hard it is to break out of a contract with them"
Okay, so you didn't dunk your custard creams with Levy in his living room. What a monster of a human being he is. Evil, pure evil.
"Remember Berbatov? And it was the same with me: they held me back for two years, until finally my new club paid what they were asking, and not a pound less. That is their speciality: they set unreasonably high transfer demands, but the absurd thing is they always get what they ask for"
Berbatov? Hmm, yes, yes. I remember him. He's the fella that only signed for Spurs so that he could prove to Fergie he was good enough for Man Utd. Played a blinding first season, throw a strop in the first summer than orchestrated his escape via strike after his second season. That Berbatov right? I guess you want Tottenham to bend over for everyone and just hand over our 'best' players for tuppence because the players, the poor little players, are the victims in all this? Unreasonably high transfer demands? Either you rate your mate Luka (and yourself) or you don't. Make your mind up. We get what we ask for? That must mean that the buying club agrees with our valuation of the player because if they didn't they wouldn't sign him.
"Kiev is not London, but it is very good for city life, and the football teams are very strong. Dynamo Kiev is big on tradition and the fans, and though lots of people will say it's not like Tottenham, if you look at history, Dynamo Kiev is a bigger club than Spurs."
That's fair enough. It's what you believe and I wish you well. But never again will I lose myself in those dazzlingly eyes of yours. You slag.

I never thought Niko would make me cry
Really niko? What a cunt. Have fun wallowing in Kiev. ( if all quotes are true, mind)
Niko, clearly you are a right dipstick! If a buying club like RM don't like paying what people want, then cease being willing to buy so many and develop good prospects like Spurs so often do. Boo hoo, Luka, Niko and any other overpaid butthead who wants to kick off. Even with a short career, they earn many thousands a year more than I can imagine in a life time, so kiss my arse.....
As I always said, Balkan players should be avoided at all cost. Make it a Spurs tradition and never sign another one Mr Levy. Balkan people lack any sentiment, they are greedy and troublemakers. What do you expect from people who pimp their mum, sister and wives as a tradition?? Keep away from Balkans as simple as that. I will even go to the length to say keep away from any eastern Europeans.
Kranjčar is angry that he had to move to Kiev, he wasn't actually good enough for a top four team, so I suppose he is a bit resentful. Anyway it's none of his fucking business how Levy runs the club.
Shocked
Players can't have it both ways. If you want the freedom to move, don't sign long, lucrative contracts. If you want the financial security, you have the accept that your fate is in the hands of the club.
Yes, I see, basically contracts are seen to be binding on the club--thats why we still have Bentley---but players, with the help of their agents and the media, are supposely free to wiggle out of their side. God pass me another beer! All players asnd their agents should do a course on torts!
you're off the team now fuck off already. what a spoiled little weaselly cunt. yea kiev are a big club keep dreaming. he'll fit right in with the rest of those ego issue armpit european slavs
Niko - try visiting the Kiev central Tesco store. Select £50 worth of goods, offer them £45 and see how far you get.
It really is as simple as that you overpaid, pampered, not-in-touch-with-the-real-world twat.
Oh just fuck right off Niko
they're both just bitter cuz they can't grow full beards and are womanly balkan bath house buddies. i've noticed the same thing the guy above said about eastern europeans. was starting to feel open about them but now all i remember is berbatov, corluka, niko and luka being little bitches with this odd whiny, weak and somewhat lethargic sense of superiority. it's like the pure shit essence inside of them coming out. i think most people have this side but grow out of it in childhood, maybe in some parts of eastern europe they just don't grow out of it. it's probably the norm cuz they were probably raised on their dads being whiny bitches trying to justify to their kids why their lives are shit
I would bloody punch that twonk if I would have to rot in Ukraine.
Iamdissapoint.gif
Guys... show a bit of class in the comments. voice your opinions but don't let yourselves down. Simple.
Smacks of a bitter ex wife that has only just come to the realisation they were punching way above their weight!
Blokes a complete fucking mug. The bloke that brought him to us on the cheap was a mug. Won't get booed, won't get clapped when or if he returns to WHL because he is fuck all. He knows that! COYS
Levy is nothing but a greedy swine, he wants to sell players @ top money but wants a good deal when buying. Didn't the Spuds offer RM a bullshit offer on one of RM junior stars? Levy says one thing and thinks another, was Levy born a woman because that what he is acting like!
This is insane. Everyone in the civilized world knows that we're willing to sell Modric for the correct price. But it seems like we're being made out to be the bad guys just because we actually value our asset higher than Real Madrid's reported 27m ceiling. So how much does Kranjcar value Modric, then? Obviously not that highly, which makes his arguments void - If Modric is not worth the sort of money that Spurs are demanding, then he's clearly not good enough to play for Real Madrid.
exellent read pmsl all the way through. niko you clown like most chickens end up in Kiev you batty boy rat face can rot in hell thinking he's bigger than any club. by levy we stand COYS!!!!!!!!
Agreed, bloody good laugh. Textbook definition of sour grapes. Totally unmoved by his spite and bile and wish him all the best kicking a flat football around in the 'bigger club's' two bob training ground.
Denzo, is buy cheap sell high greed? Or good business sense? Don't go buying a whelk stall mate.
I can understand the resentment of some former players as HR never really gave them a chance to shine. Thats why we are not in the CL. HR ran the team into the ground in the last half of the season. Rotation was never part of his vocabulary. Levy runs a tight ship, maybe too tight. If players know they can't get out if they are continually overlooked will they then join? I know AVB is a new broom, and even Gomez wants to stay, but if Levy only looks at the balance sheet then there may be reluctance to join, because if things don't work out for them they want to be away and make a name for themselves elsewhere. Players have a limited time at the top and want to make the most of it. As for Modric I don't think he is worth 38-40 mill on his display last season. We only got 30-31 mill for Berbatov, who could at least score goals. I can guarantee that we HAVE seen the best of Modric as this will now develop into a clash of wills, egos, between Levy and him. Modric will never give a 100% if he has to stay, as he feels that Levy has not kept his word. Whilst I admire Levys tough stance at times, he should be astute enough to realise that by selling Modric at twice what we paid for him (16 -17 mill) is good business, it brings in money to rebuild and gets rid of a player that does not want to be there.
Iver biggen, well, given that your your comment is the very basis of racism, I take it you your biggen ain't your brain!!
I facking love this article. Dry your eyes Nico.
Bang on the money Niko. Tell them how it really is. I remember that Levy guy trying to do to me what he's doing to Luka but you know me, I don't take kindly to people like him. It's good to see you out of that sh!t hole called 5pur2.
shame to see a good player fall out with spurs..but its even better to see a chairman who has spurs at heart..

@ spudley - Oh dear, idiot.
Nothing racist about writing the truth about Balkan people. I have travelled to Balkan countries so many times and these low lives are not interested in values, they lack class and quality. I was not wrong when I said they live on pimping their mum, wife, sister or girl friend. Anywhere in Balkans a girlfriends. It's their way of life. What else do you expect from gypsies?? Bulgarians,Romanians,Serbians,Croatians are nothing but gypsies anyway.its only natural for Kranjcar to act like one.
Haha call them complainers but I will give the Croats some props for speaking their mind. Corluka, pletikosa and kranjkar all dissed 'arry back in the day. That's prob the main reason modric wants out, no homies left at WHL.
@ Iver Biggen
Racism - the belief that certain characteristics are determined by hereditary racial factors and that this makes some races inferior or superior to others.
Unless you're not using "pimping their wife, mum etc" as a pejorative, you're being definitively racist. What you describe has nothing to do with the vast majority of Balkan people, you imbecile. For a supporter (I assume you're a supporter) of a club famed for its Jewish support, you sure are a bigot.
Iver, you really are a small minded, racist prick. I hope I speak for the majority of readers on this site.
Good blog, but if you let some racist and, frankly, just plain stupid comments remain on your page, then so long. It says something about ... uhm ... culture issues.
And this so called expert for Balkan ... I'm so glad that someone with such a low IQ managed to learn to write.
So Niko says that Levy is lying. As far as I can tell Levy is prepared to sell, so he is holding his promise. I reckon this makes this problem go away. Modric put in an official transfer and says he is happy to not take any % of the transfer fee. That way Spurs can lower the amount to say 32 (since that is what they might netted anyway). Luka agrees to lower wages at Madrid - and Madrid use that extra money to stump up the 5 million. Will greedy Modric and his merry advisors agree? We all know that answer!
30 mill is enough for Luka. Sell him and move on. Yes I agree that Real Madrid are falsely claiming poverty despite being incredibly rich... The temptation is to fleece them AND to not let Luka go easily as a deterrent to others... But doubling our money on Luka after four years, two fourth places, two fifth places and a cl quarter final is damn fine business....
What racist comments? Saying 'cultural issues' about the math is not me being racist. I was being sarcastic.
Oh wait, I forgot, that racist John Terry has ruined that excuse for everyone now.
Seriously though, is it okay to be critical of people without someone throwing in the race card? I've slagged off English players before for being gutless, does that make me racist against the English?
Come on, let's hug.
Kranj;''.. until finally my new club paid what they were asking, and not a pound less. That is their speciality: they set unreasonably high transfer demands, but the absurd thing is they always get what they ask for"
statman: So Levy bought you for 3 million and sold you for 6.2 million. I agree that is good business and we should congratulate Daniel. You are right it is his specialty. That is why he is considered as the best Premier league chairman by experts. You must admire the man. Why is it absurd? if Levy gets the price he wants that is the going price my son. that is the 'clearing price' that is the price which is determined by supply and demand.
Hmm. Niko and Luka wouldn't have the same agent by any chance would they?
disappointing that a player i admired and regretted losing chooses to make such comments.Supporting a friend and countryman is one thing but these comments are ill advised and uneccessary.
I cant see a problem with maximising our assetts its what all successful businesses do.
i dont normaly mention specific posts but Denzo you really should be back in treatment ,the pills have worn off.
Of course Niko you could have stayed at Pompey.......................unfortunately you'd have had a big hole in your pocket.
Kranji boy : Kiev is not London, but it is very good for city life, ...Dynamo Kiev is a bigger club than Spurs."
statman: I have not been to Kiev so I cannot say if it is better than London or not. But Dynamo Kiev being bigger than Spurs? I think you are wrong. According to all financial experts Spurs are currently the 11th largest club in the world. Admittedly there are financially bigger clubs in England than Spurs such as Man u , Chelsea, Man City , Arsenal and Liverpool . Partly because of a small stadium . That is why Levy has done a remarkable job to keep us punching above our status. One way he does it is to make sure we do not lose a lot of money in transfer market. That is why serious Spurs fan like Levy. But Spurs fan base is bigger than Chelsea and Man city . All in all that makes the premier league a bigger league than Ukrainian league
How can he say Kiev are a bigger club than Spurs? Perhaps bigger in the Ukraine.
Spooky - I don't think YOU were being accused of being racist, but this piece has certainly brought out a certain degree of unpleasantness, with lots of sexual aggression thrown into the mix PLUS one profoundly racist piece of shit from one poster who should 'ave a fink. There are always a smattering of racist chelski twerps drawn to this place, and this just encourages them.
Firstly, I would actually EXPECT the Daily Mirror to mistranslate anything in the interests of a story, and secondly, both Charlie and Niko do have a point in the way they were treated at Spurs, being played very rarely by 'Arry at a time when they wanted to break into the first team in order to play for Croatia in the Euros. Niko's 'sin' is to tie all that up with Luka, but it was no doubt done in some hole in the corner off-the-cuff situation, where a taunt was thrown at him about his mate and he answered in anger. Do WE have to do the same thing back (responders, not you)? We've all said what we have to say about Luka's fee and I for one think us justified. I suggest we move on but without the nastiness .......
the only way an agent can make big money is when a player moves club . He get a big percentage. So it stands to reason that agents want regular movements. Now we understand that Modric previous club will get a 5% ACCORDING TO A CONTRACT THAT HE HAS SIGNED UNTIL 2016. It has been reported that his agent is the son of the previous owner. These people did not get anything when Levy announced last summer that Modric was not going anywhere. Kranji boy wants Spurs chairman to behave like Arsenal chairman (he was not selling Nazri and Fabrigas but gave in when the chips were done). Well Levy is not like that . He is tough. He protects Spurs interests strongly . That is why everybody expect Spurs fans hate him. Tell me do Arsenal supporters think as highly about their weak chairman as we think of Levy ? Believe me if Alex Ferguson thought he could get better of Levy , Modric would have been a Man U player a long time ago.
This is exactly the reason why THFC is not gonna achieve anything worthwhile. The club keeps holding back players who don't wanna play for the club. Have u guys ever heard such happening in clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid. How do u expect to win anything with players that's never gonna give their 100% for u. It's just so pathetic!!! THFC should adopt the right mentality and u guys will see success knock on ur doorstep
Spooky
Could you erase the comments of the thinly veiled chav - purporting - to - be - offended - croat Spudly and those of ivor biggen?
They`ve both gone well over the top. I`m not a sensitive soul, just want the integrity of this site maintained - leave the bigots to spread their filth elsewhere.
I wouldn't believe anything quoted from the Daily Mirror, although I can totally see Kranjcar being annoyed by Levy & co.
@Emmanuel
You`ve missed the point. Levy knows that a brisk sale of Modric would benefit everyone.
You have swallowed the bait cast by the propaganda machine of RM/ Modric`s agent.
Look at what`s happening with your namesake Adebayor at the moment. Do you hear THFC slating City?
Do you hear any THFC players urging Ade to throw a tantrum so he gets what he wants?
No, because that`s dirty tactics and anyone who looks at the situation and blames Levy for being tight needs a reality check.
Modric has a price. If RM (who, when you examine it, haven`t really made much noise about Luka) get close enough to it, then the deal will be done. But it aint a car boot sale and modric has a 4 year sell by date before Levy needs to reduce for a quick sale.
Just saying the fact of the matter. U guys can take it or leave it. After this Modric saga, how many top players do u think will be losing any sleep to sign for Tottenham? No wonder d mighty Chelsea just points @ any player dey want and they get him, regardless of d fact that he may have been courted by THFC prior to that. SMALL CLUB MENTALITY!!!
Let's try to behave people.
Arrives from a club well known in Europe, announces to his new fans they are historically bigger than his previous. Mentions that the managerial hierarchy and business model are much better at new club and that current media focul point is being handled badly. Now, am I talking about Kranjcar or Villas-Boas?
