An actual conversation with a Spurs and Arsenal fan

Directors cut. Because I don't like to edit. Not safe for work. Unless you plug in your earphones.

You'll have seen one or two 'conversation with an Arsenal/Spurs fan' videos doing the rounds in recent weeks. Below is my own version. A short film. Well actually its not mine, it's yours, whether you're a Spurs fan or one of them lot from down the road, I've weaved your words into a conversation as the material used is regurgitated quotes, sound-bites and commentary taken from recent forum posts, blogs and discussion threads.

Well done all of you.

Spooky, I can't view the video in South Africa.....

Sep 10, 2010 at 1:47 PM | Unregistered CommenterLovell

When I click play it says 'This video contains content from Comcast Entertainment Group, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds'. Which is odd because I'm in England. Any ideas how I can view it?

Best of the lot.

That was disturbingly on the money for me. Spurs fans desperate for acclaim. Arsenal fans refusing to give it.

Sep 10, 2010 at 2:32 PM | Unregistered CommenterTim

The gooner meltdown rant at the end of it was eerie.

Very good Spooky, very good

Sep 10, 2010 at 2:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterDS

So many quotables from that. My personal fav has to be the Spurs rant followed by the arsenal fan saying...'D...V...D'. I choked on my choc biscuit.

Sep 10, 2010 at 2:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterOracle

I was brought up to believe you should be stoic in defeat and magnanimous in victory.

I was also brought up with a lot of Arsenal fans in my extended family, neighbourhood etc. We always got on - until their Premiership success years, which coincided with an incredible rise in the amount of snide they would direct at Spurs.

So fuck 'em: they've had their time - this decade belongs to us.

Spooky, have you purposely sort of sat on the fence with this? It's a clever video. Clever because the Spurs one comes across as insecure, needing the Arsenal fans approval and the gooner so desperate to avoid admittance that they are not this all conquering super team they appear to be portrayed us.

Sep 10, 2010 at 3:02 PM | Unregistered CommenterWest Stand Bagel

West - to be fair I think Spooky has been rather soft on the Arsenal standpoint. Usually all they do is boast and gloat then fuck off before a normal discussion can be had.

When's the dvd out. No seriously, I want to pre-order it

hahaha

Mammoth effort that. Well worth the watch. Just a bit unrealistic what with the goons admittance. That would never happen in real life.

Sep 10, 2010 at 3:41 PM | Unregistered CommenterGeneral Brickhouse

Factual genius.

Sep 10, 2010 at 5:04 PM | Unregistered CommenterThe Machine

Do any of you guys actually discuss football with Arsenal supporting mates?

I tend to avoid the subject to stop fights breaking out.....

Sep 10, 2010 at 5:09 PM | Unregistered CommenterPLN

My mates' dad used to support Arsenal, now he supports Spurs. The sons (always Spurs supporters) bought 4 season tickets and now he's hooked. Winds our gooner mates up way more than any baiting.

Sep 10, 2010 at 5:15 PM | Unregistered CommenterLemonadeMoney

PLN - It's nigh impossible. As seen by the idiot Gooners who browse in here and then disappear every so often. The ones at work are just as bad. Having said that, I do know a lot of Arsenal fans who have always complained and don't stop complaining about their team and Wenger. Considering the transformation they went through, I'd be hard pressed to bitch if I was one of them.

I have just one question..... Spooky, when's the DVD out?

Sep 10, 2010 at 10:17 PM | Unregistered CommenterWalkerboy

"Wilshire is the English Messi"

:-D

Sep 11, 2010 at 10:23 AM | Unregistered Commenter2P8G

The Sun is reporting that Gallas may be made captain for the game. Not withstanding my personal distaste for the idea, I'm a fairly grounded fan. Why would Harry create this massive controversy? Why not just stick to the script and not create the distraction? Wouldn't Huddlestone work? Or Modric? Jesus, I'd even rather see Keane start and play 90 minutes than watch that mercenary wear the band.
