Spurs drop out of top 4, Harry out...
Afternoon. Sorry for the lack of blogs in recent days. I've been busy today standing outside WHL demonstrating against the club over our sudden demise and drop from 4th to 5th in the table. One point behind City who are today considered 'title contenders' after their demolition of the football purists Blackburn Rovers as we sat around doing nothing. Rome wasn't built in a day but it took that long to burn down. Harry out. Europa League just ain't good enough.
*cough*
There's a lull at the minute and I'm sleeping in it. As you can tell by the inane introduction above. Not much going on, I guess all eyes on Hull this weekend and (please please please) a tasty three points to once more return us to our rightful place up in the Gods. In all seriousness, mathematically, you could argue that a title shot is not out of the question.

Nah, just fucking witha ya. Of course there was nothing serious in that statement, although how on earth the tabloids churn out the same old knee-jerk every time about the other clubs around us, I do not know. Well I do know, it’s the usual hype machine spitting out bullshit, but tbh, I'd happy to see them building someone else up whilst we quietly go about our business. Call me sceptical, but until Mancini suffers a blip and works around it, I'm not going to sigh in despair. Half way through the season and we've never lost touch with the so called Elite. Do the same from here on in and we'll be proud at the end of it. Obviously ecstatic is a far better emotion than just being proud (which in football often translates to 'good effort you losers'). So still we await for some strengthening of the squad and that ever so important consolidation.
Nothing to report on elsewhere, transfer rumours wise. Joe Cole apparently some say (again). If contract talks break down with Chelsea apparently Harry will go in for him. I guess to offer him the £130K or so Chelsea wont give him. Riiight. Gotcha. Makes perfect sense there.
Did someone say Saviola? He's not even any good in Football Manager anymore. And if people are going to whore players to Spurs can you please be more original and choose a player who isn't a midget. Keane, Defoe, Lennon. It's like the Fellowship of the Yids. Spurs and their fetish for vertically challenged footballers.
Plenty of discussion on Jamie O'Hara in one or two forums. To some he's a good backup player thanks to his heart and effort. Others cry out that he is simply not good enough. One crazy loon today stated he's a future Spurs captain and that he's still young and should be developed.
One weekend without Tottenham and people are losing their minds.
Jamie O'Hara - Yes or no?
Anyways, until something interesting happens, I'll leave you with the story of the day. Backlash? More like end of days.

What about the rumours of Flamini to Spurs that are surfacing today? If that were the case then O'Hara definately moving on and Jenas could also be further down the pecking order... I heard a rumour a few weeks ago that Chelsea were interested in JJ - not my quote, someone elses :)
Flamini? We've been here before. Again.
Flamini is a better option than both JJ and OHara.
Jamie O' Hara may not be a top level footballer but I'd have him in my Spurs squad over players like Hutton, Bentley, Pavyluchenko & Jenas any day.
He can play LB, LM, CM or CDM and whatever position he plays in you know he's going to give it everything and run until he drops because he's a yid through and through. He's a much better player than people give him credit for and I think his performances for Pompey this season have shown that. He's been head and shoulders above the rest of the Pompey squad.
Put him in a side that is performing well and he'd be a good player and as such I'd have him back in the squad for the second half of the season purely for his versatility, attitude and spirit.
Every team needs a player like O'Hara in their squad IMO, a player that may not be the best in the world but a player who's going to show the rest of the team what it means to play for that club.
Ola!
I disagree. I think it is perfectly acceptable to be upset by the performances of Man City. This is the best season that I can remember watching Spurs in the Prem - even those halcyon days of Jolly Joly - and in what would have usually been are best chance of raking the top four, we get a rich little upstart who wants to piss on our parade. Plus, Aston Villa have got a manager that is so inspiring he can get a team of England C rejects playing like world beaters. Suddenly a top six position is a brilliant achievement, but that won't even get us into the shittest tournament in the world - the Europa League. I find this an immensely depressing proposition. Hopefully it will be a happy ending this year for us...
Jamie O'Hara. Here is a player I really like. I understand the argument that some view him as "limited", but whenever I watch him his performances are consistent, aggressive and specked with odd deft touch, pass, cross and shot. I think he would make a great left-back - even if he doesn't have the pace of Ekotto - and if not then a versatile subsitute.
You see the next time you're at WHL demonstrating against DL, can you pop into the shop and get me Martin Chivers book. Ta.
On JOH being a left back.............
Anyone remember seeing him keep Ronaldo quiet when Man Utd visited WHL under Ramos? What a brilliant performance that was. He's played there for the U21's before on numerous occassions too.
Hello.
The liverpool game is on wednesday 20th Jan for those interested ;-)
I reckon O'Hara could well up end like Fletcher has for Manure, a lot of doubters early on now pretty much first player on the team sheet.
Singer, would you not prefer an Opus? Although they're a bugger to shoplift.
Saviola? Oh dear. The tumbleweeds have suffocated the football media's creativeness for the week I see.
The 20th makes it mid-week game. not that the game would have been replayed at any other time. Hope we travel well.
Not a single Spurs 'target' has had my salivating. Must try harder to all journalists.
Very nice post; I enjoyed reading, thoroughly. More grease to your elbow, alt ctl del.
Spooky
Whatever happened to heroes & vilains pt 2???
Scroll down. Part II and Conclusion are there.
I will always defend O'Hara, because he hasn't had a chance to prove himself - yet people have already passed judgement. Let him have at least 60 premiership starts before you judge him. Look at Hudd - he has started 66 premiership games and we are now beginning to see what he is made of. O'Hara has only started 29 premiership games - in a variety of positions - and for 2 clubs - who were both mostly struggling at the time! Very harsh to judge him now. Yes I can accept that you may have a hunch, but suggesting that we should get rid of him is very premature...
Is this week dragging or what?
O'hara signed a new deal in august 2009 before going out on loan, he is indeed (as pointed out above) a young and versatile squad member who could well emulate Jessica Fletcher up at ManU. Of course he could as equally end up being the next jonny Jackson, but only time and playing will tell.
But for now, he's put in a few MOM performances at kraP nott'arF since his loan, and don't be fooled by their lowly positon, they have dominated games in the middle but failed to convert chances on many occasion (partially our fault for nicking their two decent strikers I guess).
For me useful in the squad, and there is an arguement for him setting up shop with Hudd in three / four seaosns time in the middle of the park, IF (and this is a seriously big chuffin' IF) they continue to progress. The left/right and defensive/attacking balance between the two should not be discouted (neither should the ability to communicate and POTENTIALLY making national squad's in the future.
But of course, no thinks in those terms, surely, it's all about who's available next week / this season. SO roll on Hull!
Yes Killjoy, it is dragging and it shows how much our lives revolve around football! At least it is a world cup year so we don't have that long wait in the middle.
Hey - first time poster, long time reader... (why do I feel like I'm phoning into some cheesy DJ talk show?)
Spooky - you were spot on with your assessment of the hyperbole now that Man City in 4th. Alan Hansen is the main protagonist (or antagonist?). Apparently Carlos Tevez is the best player in the world. Ever. Pt 45. (I agree he's good, but that 'effort' and talent was seriously lacking when he played us. Bwahahahah)
Anyway - for those of you not seen it:

JOH is one of my favourite players, does all he can, plays in a lot of positions and he's actually good. Not great, but good. This means he can slot in for most injuries and play his heart out. Not to mention he might still develop into a great midfielder. I would love to see him as captain someday.
Just heard we've offered 12 mil. For KPB to Portsmouth
well it might noit be realistic to make up those points on chelsea but a home win over wolves and stoke and a bloody penalty at everton and we would be there
Harry is a mug.
Why did he not sign that 35 year old centre half who last played for Notts County 6 months ago on a free transfer ?
Thats why we will never catch L'ARSE. They have ambition!
Flamini? I'd love him! Great player in his prime (25) with an amazing engine, better option than a 30-year-old injury-prone Parker. Don't care that he's an ex-goon, shows that he can play possession football and at least he pissed off Wenger. A midfield of Palacios and Flamini would be destructive and very useful against the top sides. And we could finally get rid of Jenas :)
Why aren't we strengthening the team in the window ?
All this "have to sell before we can buy" nonsense is for mid table clubs.
Agree with the majority of posters, JOH is a dood, he will bust a fucking lung for THFC, yet people are still judging his skills against — for example — that skank Berbatov's. I used to love watching Berbatov, his skills were sublime, but he didn't give a fuck about the club. I remember watching Perryman play, and JOH reminds me of him. Yes, fucking limited, but who cares if the player never stops running, closing down, chasing and harrying, and seven times out of ten when he gets the ball he plays a really neat attacking pass that puts the opposition on the back foot. That's good enough for me. If you've got players like Modric and Kranjcar around him, that's enough for them too.
Not to be rude or dismissive to JOH because I think the guy isn't a bad player, BUT it's completely irrelevant that he is "going to give it everything and run until he drops because he's a yid through and through".... Give me a shirt, i'd run and run til I dropped...... I'd be completely shite.... but i'd give it some effort... the argument of passion holds no weight anymore, give me a decent footballer over another donkey that loves us any day.
Let's just get some decent players in the few positions that we need to strengthen and start shipping out some of the deadwood....
