the truth is not quite out there at the minute

If you believe the tabloids Harry is considering selling Modric and replacing him with Joe Cole. Richardson is an £8M target and for some reason Gareth Barry is mentioned as a possibility when in all probability he is more likely to go to Arsenal. And then there's the story in the Sunday Mirror about the Portsmouth takeover and the suggestion that the new owners want to bring in Redknapp for what would be his third reign at the club.

Shocking.

To make matters even worse, this is meant to be the new Spurs kit (sponsorless for the moment):

Shocking.

It’s Sunday. Still time for me to go to church and pray that the truth will out. And that it’s a little less ugly than it’s looking at the moment.

That actually looks quite nice...If the yellow was black I could get used to the shirt.

Looks like a training top to me. Don't like the yellow bits. Since when do we require yellow on our shirts?

May 31, 2009 at 6:18 PM | Unregistered Commenterteh crazy

The shirt is not all that bad. But this clearly in not the new shirt.

May 31, 2009 at 6:27 PM | Unregistered CommenterNandM

Fake imo. Just looks like a cleverly constructed mock up.

May 31, 2009 at 6:30 PM | Unregistered CommenterRR

Seen one or two mock ups and that's the best of the lot. Which isn't saying much. We do not need the side panels or yellow strips. Leave it all white.

Seen this pic in a few forums. Bin it under disinformation.

May 31, 2009 at 6:44 PM | Unregistered Commenterfilthy

I wouldn't even suggest it was cleverly constructed. Blue AND Yellow on a white shirt....now, picture a red logo (assuming Mansion stick around)...it would look awful. Hopefully the genuine kit will look better than that!

May 31, 2009 at 6:45 PM | Unregistered CommenterJohnnyB

I reckon Mansion are gone. But haven't heard much in the way of rumours about the replacement sponsorship which you'd think there would bee you know with all the club insiders doing the rounds.

May 31, 2009 at 6:49 PM | Unregistered Commenterfilthy

$99 ??? Gosh.

What magazine is that meant to be from?

May 31, 2009 at 6:51 PM | Unregistered CommenterSmeg of the Lane

No idea but considering that Spurs haven't even launched the kit probably means its unlikely that they would give the go ahead for anyone, Puma or otherwise, to publish a photo.

You'd hope, anyway...

I hear Holsten, would you believe?

May 31, 2009 at 6:57 PM | Unregistered CommenterBen

Chuffed if it was Holsten. Ties in with Ledley King, lovely.

May 31, 2009 at 6:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterSmeg of the Lane

I have heard the Holsten rumour...one of my favorite ever shirts was the Holsten/addidas..

May 31, 2009 at 7:00 PM | Unregistered CommenterJohnnyB

Can we please please please have a sponsor with no red in it?

May 31, 2009 at 7:11 PM | Unregistered Commenterkilljoy

The yellow bits at the top are a bit odd. Wouldn't have thought it could be that difficult to design a plain white shirt.

I'll find someone small and kill them if that Modric rumour turns out to be true, but surely just paper-talk. Would love to see Joe Cole at the Lane though.

May 31, 2009 at 7:22 PM | Unregistered CommenterAllActionNoPlot

Joe Cole HATES Tottenham.

It wont happen.

May 31, 2009 at 7:44 PM | Unregistered CommenterWest Stand Bagel

Spooky, you forgot to mention the best rumour of the weekend. Berba back to the Lane.

May 31, 2009 at 7:52 PM | Unregistered Commenterhobo from block 32

That shirt's nastier than Nick Cotton.

*Sorry Spookster, it's my Sunday soundbite*

May 31, 2009 at 7:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterHarryHotspur

Modric is waaaaaay better than J.Cole (over elaborates and slows play down) and such a transfer would be a pointless step backwards. Hopefully it's a typo and we're actually in for Carlton.

May 31, 2009 at 8:08 PM | Unregistered CommenterNext Season

I hate Tottenham.

May 31, 2009 at 8:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterJoe Cole

Confirmed.

May 31, 2009 at 8:40 PM | Unregistered Commenterhobo from block 32

I love Tottenham.

May 31, 2009 at 8:52 PM | Unregistered Commenternat 'king' cole

First of all,
the shirt is fine, for the time being it looks like a training ground kit because there's no sponsor. as for the rumours, i don't believe any of them. Apparently we want to get rid of 8 players? come on, and most of them are our up and coming talents! who in their right minds would sell bale and huddlestone?
Lastly I think if berbatov was in the market harry would go for him. what do u think about that?

May 31, 2009 at 9:28 PM | Unregistered CommenterGregster

Cant see Berbatov coming back to Spurs considering how disruptive he was and for him it would be humiliating for his ego.

May 31, 2009 at 9:35 PM | Unregistered Commenterfilthy

That is surely just the Bolton shirt with a bit of extra colour? Its Rubbish!

And as for Joe Cole, he would be a good addition not a replacement. Anyone remember Cole at the Lane in the 4-4 - he was immense.

But, it wont happen.....

Harry back to Pompey is a good one. Why don't we make our own rumours up and cut out the middle man.
Oh sorry Spooks thats what you are doing.

Jun 1, 2009 at 8:47 AM | Unregistered CommenterJimmyG2

Another brilliant one, just seen Duff linked with us, thats him linked with both hull city and spurs within a week. Oh dear go, are we going to be linked with every barcode and boro player. At least we aren't being linked to West Brom players.
I'm very interested to see what Harry does with the squad in the summer, but I can't see many players going or coming in, it's about time we had stability at the lane. Think someone like Joe Cole would be great, Modric and Cole on the left side of midfield intervhanging down the wing and centre, lennon up the left and palacios holding. Thats a midfield to fear. But its all rumours.
If Redknapp is after experianced top class players, Joe Cole, Eider Gudjonsson and Lescott would be the 3 I would try for.
