The greatest trick Rocha ever pulled...

....was convincing the world he didn't exist.

And what a grand job he did of it.

Ricardo Rocha has left Tottenham having only ever made 18 apperances for the club. That's 18 games in two and a half years of transitional seasons at the Lane and even when we were down a couple of centre-backs he still never got his chance. I guess, in comparison to Gilberto (who also recently left the club...at least I think he did...was he ever there to start with?) Ricardo was a little more dignified. When he did play he wasn't too shabby. Unlike the Brazilian who was.

Quite a few reserves and academy players have also been released. Ironcially, the same bunch I always free transfer when I take over Spurs in FM2009.

In other news today, Damien Duff has been linked to Spurs.

Cough.

Seriously, it's only Monday. And we have another week of this transfer gibberish to get through. What we need is a true masterclass in ITK information to get everyone buzzing. Something tasty and realistic.

Let's join hands and pray...

I say we let Duff keep his over-inflated wages and stay with the Barcodes. He had his chance to join us, and he spurned us - he can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned.

Rocha... shame he never really got his chance. Wish him all the best. He's been a model pro, really.

anyway, didn't Duff once say he\d never ever ever join us on account of how the Chelsea fans wouldn't like it? Oh well.

its a shame we never got to see him shine... he had some good moments though unlike the others who were left out of the squad!

i really hope these "3" signings 'arry has spoken of are going to be signed sooner than later so it gives the squad a lot of time to gel.

COYS!!!!!!!!!

to be fair, he wasnt too bad whenever i saw him play, he was fairly OK. Infact he did better then Bale in some games as defender...

I believe Gilberto hasn't left yet, but has been told if he can find a club to join spurs will allow him to leave for free, so he is back in brazil at the moment.

God no to duff, getting on a bit, there are much better players now we could go for. Would have taken him a couple of years ago.

i thought rocha was going to stay on a few years and become a coach. From what you here he did work well with the reserves.

I liked Rocha. No idea why he was never given a chance to play a few games and cover more often than he did. In the end he wasn't even considered even when Dawson was injured.

Duff by name, Duff by.............

People forget that Rocha is a champions league winner!! The guy could play and never really got a look in. A casualty of changing managers. I wish him all the best and would suggest that he would serve any of the newly promoted teams well !!

It does confirm to me that we are definately in the market for a future centre back.. Steven Taylor / Bassong / Wheater maybe or if we choose to shop outside of the relegation teams, maybe Burriso from Inter or Hangeland from Fulham. All would be sensible buys if you ask me.

Rocha doesn't exist....... Have you ever seen him and Corluka in the same room?

I think not!

I remember a while ago some supposed ITK hinting that there was more to Rocha's being ignored than was generally known. Be interesting to know what that was, if true.

Now is an old Duffer, However we will be eternally grateful for scoring the own goal that sunk the barcodes

There has to be a reason for him not being more involved with first team duties. I'm wearing my conspiracy hat for this one.

Strongly rumoured that Rocha had been shagging Chris Hughton's wife which was not seen as 'cool' within the football world.

Yeah, yeah Champions League winner and all that. If he were really that good, why in the last 18 months wouldn't any team, especially in his native Portugal, pluck him from our reserves for a nominal fee. I'll always remember him for his disastrous game against Arsenal in the Carling cup a few years back, when he tried to head the ball at knee height only to present Aliadiere (Ali-fucking-adiere!) with the clincher.

That's a bloody good point. Completely managed to wipe out that memory but now suffering from a Total Recall moment that would even make Arnie squirm.

The irony of this post, Rocha snagging someones wife (Terry) and CB signings with Bassong...oh how times have changed...
