The Dream is Over

Boro have let me down. But that's no real surprise. Can do without a (more than usual) smug Shearer living the dream on the Match of the Day sofa giving expert insight because he's now got managerial experience, proven managerial experience at that. Because he saved Newcastle from certain doom by making two inspired (desperate) substitutions in a must win six-pointer.

Newcastle are staying up by virtue of the fixture list.

The dream is over people. We did our bit to relegate them, and so did everyone else but unfortunately Boro are gush and even if Newcastle lose their remaining two games, Hull won't win theirs.

Alan Shearers return to television will be a glourious crowning moment for his ego. My nightmare has began.

I've booked myself in for a session or two of hypnotherapy. When I sit down to watch Match of the Day next season, apparently I won't actually see Shearer on screen at all. Obviously, if he's on the show he'll be on tv, but with these sessions my brain will be re-conditioned to block him out so all I will see is Gary Lineker asking Keeley Hazell what she thought of the game.

So, even though I have 'issues' with the tv-pundit-turned-messiah, on a positive note, at least Phil Brown will be back in the Championship. Him and that poxy cotton bud he has Sello-taped to the side of his face.

When all is said and done good luck to Shearer for his honest and straightforward comments on Barton's red card. None of the SAF nonsense of "I did not see it". As for Brown it really is justice for his reaming out of his squad on the pitch at half time earlier this season . Even if you have never read a management text you know that was a histrionic and stupid tactic. I am sure it won't be lng till we here him repeating the bleat of his mentor, Sam Allerdyce, the premier League Rodney Dangerfield, that "I get no respect".

Still time for a cricifixion. It`s been called a masterstroke of a tactic by Shearer by playing two strikers. LOL.

I HATE shearer and Newcastle. Boro didn't keep their side of the 'let's get Newcastle relegated' alliance. I think the only people who wanted NUFC to win last night were NUFC fans.

What's wrong with Brown, anyone who can wind up the Woolwich scum is OK.

May 12, 2009 at 1:06 PM | Unregistered CommenterToxic

What makes it even worse is that if Newcastle beat Fulham on Saturday, they will stay up and condemn us to the Europa League.

Cello, Sello, you got the point, didn't you?

May 12, 2009 at 1:56 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

is that 2 points 8 game one hero picture on the side of the page available on a t-shirt?

and i hate shearer, and really dislike newcastle. I hate how their fans say they're a big club, even though they haven't won anything for 50 odd years. I also hate how at the start of every season every premiership table prediction has them either 5th or 6th, and then inevitably they'll just come 14th or battle relegation.

Then its just little things like how on the front of sports sections or on football sticker packets they have players from the big for, and then you see michael owen or damien duff on the side, almost like newcastle are part of a new "big five"

It will be a travesty if I don't see that arrogant boring fucker crying on the pitch at the end of the season. Then the "best fans in the world" can show their true colours by deserting their ground like they did last time they were relegated. C#nts.

James. Click on the 2 points 8 games image. Links you to the t-shirt.

What is it with Arsenal fans? They call us pikeys and yet they can't even string a coherent sentence together. Why are they all so utterly boring too? They always work in IT and always talk so nasally in a bland cockney accent, going on about Senderos or Anders Limpar. They all think they're Statto. So boring. Come on, give us some decent banter you tiresome child. Something that'll get a reaction. Or just give up.

Cello-tape, like sellotape but with strings attached.

To the CRETIN who posted in CAPITALS at 1:49, who's top of the London League this season?
Let's see now. It's not Arsehole Wankers team, it's not the great Chelski and it's not that little yo yo team from East Ham.
I wonder who it could be.
PS For the ignorant, the dictionary defines Cretin as a retarded dwarf.

May 13, 2009 at 1:23 PM | Unregistered CommenterANON

Yes, yes. Because being the 5th or 6th biggest club in the country is such a bad bad thing. Having a rich tradition and seeing some of the best flair players to grace the English game play for us is so depressing, isn't it.

Fact is 'mate', even though we are miles behind the Sky Sports Four, we are still miles ahead of you lot. And this isn't pig ignorance. It's fact. We've won silverware in every decade since the 50's. If that's an easy task, why haven't Newcastle won anything?

You are nothing more than the West Ham of the North East.

Now go eat some Haggis and maybe get someone to fix your keyboard you utter utter pleb.

May 13, 2009 at 1:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterShelf Side Warrior

FACT IS MATE YOU ARE MILES BEHIND THE TOP 10,YOU WON TROPHEYS WHEN FOOTBALL WASENT AS HARD AS IT IS TODAY,THE WEST BROM SQUAD OF TODAY WOULD OF WON THE LEAGUE IN THE 50S MATE COME ON JEEEZ,AND DONT PUT WEST HAM DOWN,THEY ARE MILES IN FRONT OF YOU IN TERMS OF RESPECT AND THEY KNOW HOW IT IS NOT LIKE YOU PIKEYS THINKING YOU'LL WIN THE LOT AND ARE BETTER THAN MAN UTD WHICH CLEARLY YOU AINT!!

May 13, 2009 at 2:19 PM | Unregistered CommenterANON

Ok, firstly, don't be a fucking tool. Wasn't hard back then? What next? The Liverpool side of the 70's and 80's were gash? The great Madrid side was actually a bit lucky? I suppose we are in a good position because at least we have some form of history that opposing fans and our fans can argue over. Bit more difficult to do with around 80 or so other league clubs that have been around for the same amount of time. Do you see my point?

For a club to retain footballing traditions for over 100 years and to be successful in every decade since the war is fucking great going for a 'small club'.

And so many memories too. In twenty years time the 1981 FA Cup final will still be seen as a classic. It's seen as a classic today and its almost been 30 years.

We've made our mark in history. That's not a bad thing. Others have done the same - like Forest and Derby. But look at them now.

Steady ship is Spurs, with the odd iceberg avoided every now and again.

The real question is why it you are so riled. You do know it's ok for one set of fans to poke fun at another? And I've seen plenty of Newcastle related forums that have banged on about Spurs.

You shouldn't let it get to you. Unless of course it does. Which I think it does.

May 13, 2009 at 2:33 PM | Unregistered CommenterShelf Side Warrior

FACT IS MATE YOU ARE MILES BEHIND THE TOP 10

Fuck off mate. Miles behind 4th spot. Everyone, Everton/Villa/etc are miles behind the top 4. But Spurs are not miles behind Villa and Everton. Do you actually understand the game you like to shout about?

YOU WON TROPHEYS WHEN FOOTBALL WASENT AS HARD AS IT IS TODAY

And football in 40 years time will be considered the best and Newcastle fans in the year 2040 will be saying how football wasn't that hard back in the early 2000's. Utterly stupid argument here. Stupid.

THE WEST BROM SQUAD OF TODAY WOULD OF WON THE LEAGUE IN THE 50S MATE COME ON JEEEZ

No they would not have. You can't make comparisons like this because football fitness has evolved. If you took a team from the 60's or 70's or 80's and they were physically as fit as todays pro footballers, they would more than compete. Enough of this.

AND DONT PUT WEST HAM DOWN,THEY ARE MILES IN FRONT OF YOU IN TERMS OF RESPECT AND THEY KNOW HOW IT IS NOT LIKE YOU PIKEYS THINKING YOU'LL WIN THE LOT AND ARE BETTER THAN MAN UTD WHICH CLEARLY YOU AINT!!

LOL. Why because they 'won' the World Cup? Do one Geordie.

IT IS NOT LIKE YOU PIKEYS THINKING YOU'LL WIN THE LOT AND ARE BETTER THAN MAN UTD WHICH CLEARLY YOU AINT!!

They are the ones who are considered the pikeys, we are the yids. Surprised you need clarification on that. And as for thinking we are better than Man Utd, stop making stuff up.
