THFC probability-o-meter

Current order of probability for this week (1 being most probable, 10 least likely):

1 - Andre Villas-Boas announced

2 - Jan Vertonghen signs

3 - Gylfi Sigurðsson signs

4 - Ledley King announcement (re: retirement, future at Spurs)

5 - Investment / Naming Rights finanical injection

6 - Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior signs

7 - Chirpy sex and drugs scandal

8 - Director of Football return

9 - dos Santos to be sold

10 - Harry Redknapp to not have an opinion on any of the above

Yes I know, it's not technically an o-meter, it's just a bog standard list. Deal with it.

No. 10 will not happen.

Should be changed too:

10. Harry signs as manager in the UAE, he is then kidnapped by camel herders and is never heard from again.

Jul 3, 2012 at 12:15 AM | Unregistered Commenterricksmg

No. 1.5 - this blog to be endlessly visited by scum and chav trolls wishing AVB all the best and suggesting that THFC may be finally moving out of their shadow (yawn)

Jul 3, 2012 at 12:27 AM | Unregistered Commentermoe

1. At today's press conference to announce new manager, Dan Levy steps up to the mic and says, "It gives me great pleasure to introduce the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur FC, signed on a lifetime contract. Please welcome - Mr Harry Redknapp !"
Out walks H...he and Dan look at each other and start laughing hysterically. Dan addresses the stunned journos, "Sorry and all that, Guys...just screwing with your heads...but you gotta admit - we really had you going there, didn't we ? Andre Villas Boas ? Yeah...right" (arf arf arf) "Oh...and by the way, I have a new signing to announce as well...very pleased that Harry's persuaded Emil Heskey to join us on a 3-yr deal."

Seriously guys I am ITK.......

Some of the above is going to happen soon !!!! but I cannot elaborate on what as I shall destroy my source but when it happens I shall reveal that's What I know was going to happen.

We shall also be linked to the entire mid priced range of the Portugees squad.....

Jul 3, 2012 at 8:42 AM | Unregistered CommenterStevo

Daniels Levy's appointments of managers at Spurs have been without rhyme or reason. Hoddle was a crowd pleaser after sacking Graham when ENIC took over. DISASTER.

Then it was Santini, lasted 5 mins. DISASTER.

Then it was Jol, we only had Jol because Arnesen brought him in as a coach and was a nice cheap promotion within the club. He did relatively well, what does Levy do? Sacks him... Jol's replacement was Ramos and the equally hapless Comolli as DOF at great cost, poor treatment of Jol and underhand poaching of Ramos from Sevilla. DISASTER.

The result of the work these two clowns mean we are hovering above relegation within a year. DISASTER.

In comes Harry to rescue the situation and within a couple of season has us from relegation candidates to the Champions League quarters!! He also delivers in 3 seasons 4th place twice, our highest ever league placing since the Premier League began. What does Levy do? He sacks him... Now he employs a manager who has shown no ability to manage in this country at all, as was proven by his terrible spell at Chelski. No matter how good you are in another country (as with Ramos) the culture shift of managing in England is a huge one and not many are successful and the ones that are, haven't tried before and been useless!

The pressure on AVB will be immense, he will revert to his stand offish and overly defensive stance with the British media if things don't start well and they will get stuck in like never before. He accused them of a vendetta against him when he was at Chelsea, they won't have forgotten about that. Everything about this appointment has the familiar whiff of Levy's inspired choices regarding Spurs managers. DISASTER!!

When we get tonked by the Woolwich with their long serving manager, chipping away and delivering top 4 for yet another season, Levy will no doubt have yet another 'doh' moment and bring down the axe yet again. Does this man never learn??

Truly unbelievable... get ready for yet another DISASTER!!!

11. Spurs linked to laods of players we don't even want.
12. Spurs not linked to players we do want
13. We don't actually buy anyone, and then get an old duffer on loan just before the window closes
14. JJ looks good in pre-season training

Jul 3, 2012 at 3:16 PM | Unregistered CommenterWisky Tom

wonder how AVB feels about the fact that everyone refers to him as AVB.

may i be the first to welcome Mr Andre Villas-Boas to the club.

behind you 100%.

Jul 3, 2012 at 3:30 PM | Unregistered Commenterkoume2

Note that Levy has referred to AVB as our new "Head Coach" and not our new "Manager". Expect a Director of Football to follow.......

Jul 3, 2012 at 3:30 PM | Unregistered CommenterSoiled Pyjamas

can we all please get behind the guy and give him a chance.

at the very least lets show him that not all fans in this country are scummy chav w*nkers like the ones he had to endure for 6 months.

if anything, i applaud him for lasting that long!

Jul 3, 2012 at 3:40 PM | Unregistered Commenterkoume2

Totally agree, lets get behind him...He will do us ok im sure of it...

Jul 3, 2012 at 4:05 PM | Unregistered Commenterrodders1

Agreed, now that he's been appointed we should get behind him for every single match that he coaches for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club - right to the end and no turning back.

Jul 3, 2012 at 4:16 PM | Unregistered CommenterSpurs 37001

Welcome home AVB. Here`s hoping you`ve taken irony classes, you`re gonna need it here!
Good luck.

Jul 3, 2012 at 4:52 PM | Unregistered Commentermoe

Behind him all the way until he unveils a 4-6-0 with Modric wide left and Bale wide right, then I'm not too sure...

Jul 3, 2012 at 4:54 PM | Unregistered CommenterJames Hardern

@james harden - with the players we`ve got and those we`re linked with, he may be forced to play 4-6-0, after all Spain didn`t look too shabby with it. If Modric is anywhere on the pitch I`ll be happy.
Irony lesson no.1 - Blackburn have today signed a Portuguese striker who`s 2 years older than AVB! And so it begins...........

COYAVBS!

Jul 3, 2012 at 5:05 PM | Unregistered Commentermoe

Now that we've got 'im, what're we gonna call 'im?

We've had 'Arry. And we've got 'Azza...How about 'AVy?

Or we could go Meme-hunting...
- the Extra-special One.
- the Porto Puta.
- the Portu-gaffer.

It's something to think about...

AVB......'a very bold' move by Daniel Levy.

Jul 3, 2012 at 6:58 PM | Unregistered Commenter4Mullery

Dos Santos about to move to Malaga. So GDS gets to play CL football next season while Spurs are out....THAT is irony (big time).

Jul 3, 2012 at 7:10 PM | Unregistered Commenterdavids

Welcome to THFC AVB, all the very best! COYS TTID.

Jul 3, 2012 at 7:11 PM | Unregistered Commenteraspurusual

Such an important day and yet relatively few comments on here since the official announcement earlier today.
Or has it all been said prior? For me, it is a good appointment-H gave us stability but was not able to take us further
and now we have a young ambitious Manager wanting to make his mark and with something to prove. If, as reported
AVB has lost many millions in compensation by taking the Spurs job, does that not tell you a lot about the man and his
intentions and makes a refreshing change from the 'grubby' behaviour of his predecessor.

Jul 3, 2012 at 8:08 PM | Unregistered Commenter4Mullery

@CFC - pull your baseball cap down son, your swastika`s beginning to show. AVB`s so shit you have to come on here shouting about it eh? Anyway, would`ve thought you`d appreciate some London company in mid table next season.
You`ve so given up on hopes of top 4 that you can`t even SPELL `second` you thick chav scumbag.
I for one am pleased that one of them trolled on here - the silence was becoming deafening.

Jul 3, 2012 at 8:49 PM | Unregistered Commentermoe

Good luck to him...get the feeling newcastle is such a big game... But hey if we all stick together and at least give the man a fair chance the the press can go screw themselves...especially the prats at the standard whose writing the past week is nothing but an embarrasment -check out their five tips for avb in tonights...true f'kin geniuses those two..
Anyway here we go...hold tight it might be bumpy (at first)

I remember feeling less optimistic when HR was appointed and he did alright - all hail the Portu-geezer. Good luck, sir, and may you last beyond March.

On a more serious note, I do wonder how AVB will line them up. The biggest question in my mind is how and where he employs Bale and vdV. Should be interesting...
