Policing & Stewarding at the Lane
Policing & Stewarding of Premier League Fans Survey.
If you've got a spare moment or two, on behalf of The Football Supporters' Federation, please click on the above link and complete the survey. The aim is to heighten awareness towards finding out what Spurs fans perceive as issues at games regarding match day policing.
The FSF work with a various police forces to try and improve match day policing and we're attending a meeting at New Scotland Yard along the FSF and other London club fan groups so it's important we get as much feedback as possible. If you have any concerns you want us to air, this is your opportunity.
So please complete the survey and if you've got anything else to share, use the comments section on the blog.

Do stewards on a power trip telling home fans but not away fans to sit down count?
Knock yourself out.
Personally, always found some stewards taking their jobs way too seriously. We pay to watch our team, they should be there to make the day the best experience possible but the pressures of follow orders to the letter usually ends up making things a lot worse. Plenty of contradictions in their policing.
Yep.
There are a few who actually think they're "celebrities" when us fans actually just think they're cockends.
It's all the pressure of 'sit down' and the laws surrounding the fact that if we supposedly don't Spurs will be fined. I think one or two clubs have suffered from punishments, not sure we have. But the point is, should be some respect both ways, don't think there is. There's a lack of regard in many cases.
I agree the police i do not find a problem but the stewards really especially he west stand really think they are important.
I have taken my grandson in the area of the tunnel and you see kids askng for autographs and then you get stewards telling you not to unless the players approach you.
Surely this is all part of the experirence can you imagine his face when he ges into school on monday with jermain defoes autograph or anoher player.
The worst one for this appears to be he head steward going grey and he us usually guiding out the teams.
On a mass power surge.
Get the spirit back into football bring back the mabbutt,s perrymans of this world who would sign for hours
The Football Supporters Federation work with Various Police Forces???? are you sure????? They might say they work with but i think you'll find they have their own agenda!!!
Share mate.
THe stewards are only doing their jobs, Jamie instead of moaning try and understand why they would stop you from contacting a player - you could be some crazy fan wanting to assault the players?
In jobs you have a manager who tells his/ her employees what to do. If they don't follow instructions then they get told off. Sure it's the same for Stewards. Most of them are likely to be fans of the club, so rather than call them names why not try and understand.
I had an issue with the stewards at the club, which I hope (and think) the club dealt with. I'm unable to expand on it in this open forum, but probably will be able to on the survey.
E8 in the east stand lower, toward the park lane, is a celebrity in his own right.
Done and documented. : (
@Jamie - I was that kid that Garth Crooks signed for. A great memory.
I had the rather surreal experience of sitting in the away end at WHL for a UEFA cup game, when I had some friends over from Portugal. I have to say that I found the stewarding in the away section pretty rude and bordering on provocative. When I pulled one guy up, speaking in fluent 'London' he suddenly looked quite puzzled and started to behave a bit more like a human being.
That said, I've always found the stewards in the Park Lane good for a laugh and when we took our baby girl to a cup game, they went out of their way to help us find somewhere to change her.
whl "some crazed fan" when was the last time "some crazed fan attacked " oh ar cantona springs to mind, moron
you are typical of the politicly correct brigade rife at spurs and u should join them and save a player from some "crazed fan"
The last home game I went was Adebayor's debut against Liverpool last season, and I was sickened to hear 3 or 4 blokes in the lower east making vile and racist comments throughout. No chance of the stewards standing near enough to hear doing anything as they were very pally with said group, first name terms and greetings. Ordinarily I'd think that was a good thing, but in this case, the dangers of such cosiness became apparent. I wanted to challenge them, but as a guest of a ST holder I felt obliged to hold my tongue and ask him about the bunch at half-time. His response was pretty much, 'nobody wants any trouble, nobody wants to lose their spot, and if the stewards are friendly with the racists, who do you complain to?'
