Although if Woolwich are dicking WBA early on, attention will soley be on attaining 4th until we switch onto Champions League final night to discover our fate. A variety of permutations, a textbook Tottenham end to the season. Admit it, there is no other way with us. Get ready to have that heart ripped out of your chest once more. With any luck it will be thrown back in and patched up in time for a post-match drink and smile.
I remember 2006 very well. More than I care to. I was in the depths of my depression at the time and football was key to the pretence I kept up when in public, which was basically only to go to football games or work (before I was signed off for my 'sabbatical'). Something I have joked about since concerning that period of time was the fact that when I returned home from Upton Park having witnessed us puke away our chances of a top four place, I proceeded to eat (a pizza) and later that evening experienced one of the worst bouts of food poisoning I've ever had. Knocked me out for a day. Kick a man when he's down.
No pizza for me this weekend and no Lasagne for Spurs in yet another final day of explosive emotives. Bit different this time round. It's not in our hands like it was that fateful day in 2006. Mind the gap? The gap? We fell into it and even though our olde enemy has given us an unexpected lending hand to lift us back up, we've managed to slap it away more times than I care to mention. Yet they have persisted in attempting to drag us back up. No puke, plenty of choke all round. Everyone wants it, no one is taking it.
No matter how the table looks at full time across the country on Sunday, there has hardly been that much in it across the course of the season. Between all the clubs up there, each one has its own set of unique frailties and strong points. Everyone has work to do in the summer. There might have been a points gap but there is hardly one in terms of quality and application. If there is a single point in it at the very end, you'll wonder about all the disallowed goals and the dropped home points and the unexpected away defeats. But don't bother. Won't change a thing. I can only speak for us and it's been discussed a thousand times, but we've been wasteful aided by a numerous amount of reasons ranging from tactical to outside distractions. It's like any season, there will always be regrets. Much like our competitors will argue the very same thing. Some valuable lessons learnt, 2013 is another season.
For now, all I ask for is a strong Spurs performance and three points. If its meant to be it will be. The irony is not lost that it's Martin Jol returning to the Lane. A man in our hearts, a man with Tottenham in his heart. A man that probably wouldn't share a hug with our chairman any time soon. No Dempsey for them. In addition some very pro-Spurs comments pre-match from big Martin. We're also unbeaten at home for an age in London derby games, and so on. I hate all the build up, it screws with the head. I'll probably gorge on re-heated pizza if we managed to lose and Woolwich dropped points to WBA.
Onwards Spurs. I love you so much you crazy cockerel. Echo of glory please.

I can't speak for all gooners but Chelski being the first London team to win the Champions League would make me absolutely sick! I would rather Spurs play Champions League football then that lot funded by the Russian criminal winning it. Hell I wouldn't even mind seeing Spurs win the league if it came to it cos atleast you lot aren't money cheats. So I for one will be a hardcore Bayern Munich fan as well come Saturday. Personally, I'm happy with 4th. It was the original target after all. As has been pointed out, we're moving in the right direction, and if we dont get CL, then we will lose Modric, but if his hearts not in it, then good riddance. No, I dont think we can complain. It just seems harsh as we were 3rd for so long, but normally that run of losses would spread over the season, but they all came at once but 4th will do.
As for Arsenal, well it always grates when they start, but the gap is closing and we shared the NLD spoils. There's really not much between the 2 sides at all anymore. Arsene will now remain and continue, which can only be a good thing, as he's clearly insane.
Harry is driving at 90 MPH past every speed camera in London desperate for another 3 points.
As for me, well, I've been on the crack pipe and whisky, the LSD and the cider, it's been a wonderful season, and I am content. I love Spurs, I really do, love it.

As you Gooners know, from lack of winning anything recently, whether you finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th, the reward is the same - Champions League football.
Fact of the matter is that neither of us won the league and, as it stands, both are in the same competition next season.

We've done it the typical roller-coaster Spurs way. Plenty of highs and one almighty run of lows, but we've come out the other side of it.

We (me a gooner and manure mate) worked out the other day net spend against wages and basically arsenals wages each season are 30-40m more than spurs.
Our average net spend on transfers since 2003/4 is around 12m a season

Now it`s all sunk in, well done Spurs for finishing fourth, an improvement on the last couple of seasons.
We`re going to have bad backs from from having to crouch so low to stay in that one point shadow.
When will these fools realise that we have not and never will dispute that they`ve had a better time of it than we have for many years? The only point they can be trying to make is that they are looking over their shoulders now.

I hope Spooky leaves the posts be as they tell their own story. Up until a few years ago, when they were a big successful club, Arse fans took great joy in telling us that we were of no consequence to them, they had much bigger fish to fry than us.

The truly sad outcome from yesterday's events was being robbed of one of those rare moments of celebration. Just the mere thought that WBA was beating Arsenal for a time was intoxicating. Playing and winning at home while earning CL qualifying would have been special to see. It's a pity it couldn't be worked out some other way when you have a situation like Chelsea's. Ah well, it was a good season nonetheless. Hopefully Bayern will come through bigtime.

Finishing 3rd never brought this much joy to the arsenal fans! Never!
