Is this the bit where I'm meant to brick myself?

Here we go then. This might just be fun. Although if Woolwich are dicking WBA early on, attention will soley be on attaining 4th until we switch onto Champions League final night to discover our fate. A variety of permutations, a textbook Tottenham end to the season. Admit it, there is no other way with us. Get ready to have that heart ripped out of your chest once more. With any luck it will be thrown back in and patched up in time for a post-match drink and smile.

I remember 2006 very well. More than I care to. I was in the depths of my depression at the time and football was key to the pretence I kept up when in public, which was basically only to go to football games or work (before I was signed off for my 'sabbatical'). Something I have joked about since concerning that period of time was the fact that when I returned home from Upton Park having witnessed us puke away our chances of a top four place, I proceeded to eat (a pizza) and later that evening experienced one of the worst bouts of food poisoning I've ever had. Knocked me out for a day. Kick a man when he's down.

No pizza for me this weekend and no Lasagne for Spurs in yet another final day of explosive emotives. Bit different this time round. It's not in our hands like it was that fateful day in 2006. Mind the gap? The gap? We fell into it and even though our olde enemy has given us an unexpected lending hand to lift us back up, we've managed to slap it away more times than I care to mention. Yet they have persisted in attempting to drag us back up. No puke, plenty of choke all round. Everyone wants it, no one is taking it.

No matter how the table looks at full time across the country on Sunday, there has hardly been that much in it across the course of the season. Between all the clubs up there, each one has its own set of unique frailties and strong points. Everyone has work to do in the summer. There might have been a points gap but there is hardly one in terms of quality and application. If there is a single point in it at the very end, you'll wonder about all the disallowed goals and the dropped home points and the unexpected away defeats. But don't bother. Won't change a thing. I can only speak for us and it's been discussed a thousand times, but we've been wasteful aided by a numerous amount of reasons ranging from tactical to outside distractions. It's like any season, there will always be regrets. Much like our competitors will argue the very same thing. Some valuable lessons learnt, 2013 is another season.

For now, all I ask for is a strong Spurs performance and three points. If its meant to be it will be. The irony is not lost that it's Martin Jol returning to the Lane. A man in our hearts, a man with Tottenham in his heart. A man that probably wouldn't share a hug with our chairman any time soon. No Dempsey for them. In addition some very pro-Spurs comments pre-match from big Martin. We're also unbeaten at home for an age in London derby games, and so on. I hate all the build up, it screws with the head. I'll probably gorge on re-heated pizza if we managed to lose and Woolwich dropped points to WBA.

Onwards Spurs. I love you so much you crazy cockerel. Echo of glory please.

Christ, what a season it's been. More of the same next year please, just keep the blips to a minimum. Ta.

As long as Chelsea don't win next week I for one am happy the scum finished above us. Why? Because that prick Wenger will convince himself they are not far away and spend fuck all again and Arsenal will go another year winning nothing and can't see them getting top 4 either. So let them gloat because they wont next year with any luck.

Its amzing how the psychological bender the Arese have been spun for several years continues. They are now spinning a new one for the fans - Spurs best team could not finish above Arse's worst team!! They take this all in and away they go skipping into the distance happy for another season!! They have been suckered for so long by Wanger - and he continous to spin it. Long may it continue!!! Keep taking it in!

Its not the gap they should be worried about, its the monumental shift that is happening as we speak!! It will only occur to them when in 2 years time, June 2014 to be exact. It will hit them then! Mind the SHIFT!!!

"serious investment"..."serious investment"..."one or two players"...

We are getting serious investment: they are trying very hard to build a new stadium.

At the moment we CANNOT support the wages that even Arsenal pay (and Wenger is notoriously tight/high principled in this area). If we want to be better in 10 years we need to put the investment in the stadium now. Simple.

As for not buying players (in jan, this summer, whenever..) we have to be realistic. We are trying to buy "world class quality" at "good quality" prices and that is difficult as a) there are not many players better than what we already have b) of that group how many are we going to be highest bidder and the player what to come to us. Theres moaning when we sign Saha, but our range of long term targets is probably a shortlist of about 3-4, if we can't get them that window should we blow our cash on another Pav?

People say 30 goal a season striker like you pick one up off the shelf. Fact is we created so many chances due to Adebayors world class link up play. We scored way less because his finishing has been poor, and we have lacked a presence in the box. Very few players can offer what a Van Persie or a Rooney offers.

Just enjoy the ride, because until recently we'd been crap for absolutely years.

The Stadium is on its way, I would say 3 years +. Problem is to continuie playing at the Lane whilst construction continues, its not easy and this may well have an impact on the team!!

May 13, 2012 at 9:04 PM | Unregistered Commenterhotspurs

hotspurs : spot on. They've concocted a cover story and Wenger, who's lost the plot and only retains his position courtesy of RVP's goals, continues to mug off the lot of them. We're coming stronger again next season, and all the Podolskis in the world won't conceal the fact that their squad is weak, lacks bottle, and squeaked third via some Fulop blunders - Fulop's been watching too many instructional vids by H. Gomes Esq.

May I just take this opportunity, on St Totteringhams Day of all days, to congratulate Arsene Wenger on being the manager of one of only 3 teams in the whole of Europe to qualify for the CL 15 times on the spin. And, of course, to the tiny Totts for having managed it once, as things stand.

I thank you.

May 13, 2012 at 9:24 PM | Unregistered CommenterF*tY*dC*nt

15 years of CL = 0 European trophies

Well done mate. Nice one.

Once upon a time St Totts day was a yearly occurrence in Jan. Does it count when the season is over? Keep on spinning the spin. Mind the gap between you and the Mancs. Keep looking behind you, never up.

etc etc

May 13, 2012 at 9:39 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

Keep on spinning in the spin mate. Enjoy your pathetic mind the gap and st tot day etc. you have just proved what we have been saying all along. Keep spinning in it and you won't see it coming. It's on it's way, the SHIFT is happening and if you think you are guaranteed membership to the top 4, then there is another think coming! You had 15 years, 15 years of nothing!! He spun you out big time and you all fell for it but keep with him, hang on in there for another 15 years!!

May 13, 2012 at 9:59 PM | Unregistered CommenterHotspurs

Spooky, you're a twat. Almost every witless offering you serve up is about us and look at the comments here..... why ? Well, at least it's fun to have Tuesdays and Wednesdays instead of Thursdays on c5, right? Come on, you had a little taste....No we never won it but it is Europe's premier competition. A lot harder to win in these days of financial excess. Have you seen Tottenham win the league? That's only in England - lot less competition, eh?

By the way, if you hadn't shat your pants when 2 up against us that would be your second run at it, wouldn't it?

What a crew of cunts you are.....

May 13, 2012 at 10:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterF** Y** C**t

Dear Mr Levy,

I don't know if you're a gambling man, but it's time to lay off.

A decent run in the champions league gets us 30m more or less. Qualification gets the on field part of the new player coming existing player staying carrot right. Failure to qualify makes the former point harder. So my advice? Hit your preferred bookie:

Bluescum currently paying at odds to turn 1 into 2.65. So, Dan, scrape 20m together and lodge it on Bluescum. If they win, you have a shade over 50m to get the financial part of the carrot right and will go a way to salving the pain. If they lose, the 20m is no problem since we're getting it back anyway. Right?

Do it, Dan. I'm sure the shareholders would back it.

Hotspurs, You lot had 15 years of what, exactly??

Look at the record books over the last 15 years. Compare and contrast.

Who has been 'spun out'.

Total knobber.

May 13, 2012 at 10:11 PM | Unregistered CommenterF** Y** C**t

Nasri and Clichy must be so jealous of you at this moment in time not celebrating with the Arsenal. They fucked up massively. Keep on trolling troll. Hold onto that one point gap, embrace it. It's all you have now. Imagine that. From silverware to one measly little point over little olde spuds. What glory you bestow on yourselves. You're happy. We're gutted. Speaks volumes. So small time even your players want Chelsea to become the first London club to ever win the European Cup just so Spurs don't get CL football.

Embarrassing.

Return to your swamp, blemmer.

May 13, 2012 at 10:13 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

Well done Spook. Another comment about the Arsenal. Whether you do it on your own blog or someone else's, it's still trolling.

You should change your name to Trolly.

"Look at the record books over the last 15 years. Compare and contrast" - Just how fucking thick are you? No one is debating that. Christ, name me another club outside the Sky Sports Top Four that has achieved anything during that era of football? Aside from Everton puncturing the dominant powers in England the once. Well? Congrats on your success but what exactly is it you lot do these days aside from finishing above us? Now take a look at us and where we where and where we are now. Do ya see it? Do ya? Do ya see how we've got our act together and actually compete season in season out now? Whilst you've gone from bantering with Utd fans to losing your best players to City and now having to LOL with the Spurs. It's cute, it really is, but we get accused for living in the past and yet that's all you lot do. Bless ya hearts. Keep on jumping around from supporting your club to wanting your manager out and dressing seats with bin bags and then supporting them again you soulless bunch of utter utter cunts. I'd rather be raped by a thousand cockroaches than be you.

Love and kisses broken child of Woolwich

"Work is expected to start on the construction of the supermarket to the north of the stadium towards the end of the year" - David Levy. £20m down the pan on stadium drawings and all he is able to boast about is building a new Lidls? Your shabby fans and shabby team don't deserve a new stadium, that little grief hole is good enough for you.

So that's it for now. Is it Okay to ask Mr. Redknapp to do the honourable thing now.... please?!

Media darling Harry Redknapp became Sack Harry...

Tale of Arsenal:

Media Tale:
Spurs are the best side in London by a country mile...

Truthful Tale:

Best Spurs performances and squad in 20 years; almost all Spurs fans accept this.

Season Tale:
Arsenal 3rd Place
Spurs 4th Place

Tall Tale:
Who is spinning whom? Arsenal accept we were shite for the most part this season- our club is grounded in reality. Spurs do not accept your reality...you have Harry and the media to thank for this...and 40 years of '61...

You Arsenal twats. Notice the trend.

You went from being the 1st unbeaten team in PL history, to being happy about finishing 3rd, a mere 1-point above a Spurs team that is only now BEGINNING to find stability in its identity, personnel and system.

We went from being upset at being a joke of a team, to being upset at finishing in a CL place despite massive distractions to our manager and team.

Next season, we'll continue to develop our identity, personnel and system, whilst you will more then likely lose the ONE player that carried you all season. Your eggs are all precariously placed in one basket that appears to be looking more and more unsteady each passing day. Counter with talk about Bale or Luka leaving and I will counter with the fact that we have succeeded without them in our team, whereas, you, with your current team, haven't without RVP.

With that said, fuck off our blog.

I loved the way the Gooner fans at WBA were celebrating like they'd won the league..... just because they managed to finish above us on the last day of the season.
Must be great to be a gooner, when the only thing to look forward to each season is when you can mark on your calendar the day you finished higher than Spurs!

all these spuddies can do is talk shite , we are on up all that blah blah , offcourse with the amount of money u spent u ought to be up but at the end of the day our arsenal without any spending sits comfortably above u and u hypocrits talk that how we used to fight for pl and nw we compare ourselves to u shites , it was not so long ago we wud hv won the pl if not for the unfortunate leg break of eduardo and that money-grabber clichy who gave a penalty so so late in the match and as far as u spuddies for god sake just for once finish above us and then we wud talk , little cunts..

May 14, 2012 at 9:51 AM | Unregistered CommenterARSENALINMYBLOOD

Ah, the old "we don't spend money" argument..... So how did you bring Szczesny, Sagna, Mertsacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Arteta, Rosicky, Squillachi, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chamakh and Gervinho to the club?? In the back of a lorry across the channel??

Sure, you may not spend as much on outright fees, but with the wage packet you lot pay, I would imagine the season expenditure is probably near identical.
Who did we spend money on in the 2 transfer windows this season???? Erm......... that would be just Scott Parker for £5 million. Adebayor was on loan and Saha & Nelsen were freebies.

I have had enough of this childish prattle, which is distasteful in the extreme. It takes a man to simply ignore the taunts and
