Leaked letter from Spurs to Chelsea

Ron Gourlay
Stamford Bridge,
Fulham Road, London
SW16 1HS

Mr. Gourlay,

Further to your correspondence and renewed pursuit of Luka Modric, I am writing to you to tell this player is not for sale at ANY price.

Whilst I commend the work you have done in getting to the player with the use of an unnamed Iranian agent, I can only apologise for the club’s stance in this instance.

On 1st September 2011, Luka Modric will be a Tottenham Hotspur player. I hope this is clear and the club does not welcome any other offers.

Further to this, the club would like to make an enquiry about Fernando Torres. As a result of his clear dip in form and lack of goals, the club think it would be appropriate to offer £14million plus £2.6million in add-ons for International and Premier League honours.

We hope you are satisfied with this offer and look forward to hearing your positive response in the near future.

May I close this note with a piece of advice; Nigel Reo-Coker is currently a free agent and would be a very good addition to your current squad.

I look forward to sharing a beverage with you and Roman on Tuesday 20th December.

Kind Regards,

Daniel Levy
Chairman,
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Plc.

Wow, is this real?

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:19 AM | Unregistered CommenterDrwinston001

You wont be able to con us with that offer for Torres; you know full well that the £2.6m add-ons would never apply if he were at Tottenham.

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:22 AM | Unregistered CommenterNorman

It would be more useful for the club if we would propose better replacements for Modric, a player who doesn't want anymore to play for Spurs for his own, respectful from every point of view, reasons.
Football, like all sectors of human activity, is always subject to improvements.

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:23 AM | Unregistered CommenterIoanX

there is always one :)

Is this even real?!

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:26 AM | Unregistered CommenterBatoulH

haha what a load of bullshit haha. torres no chance try not for sale. where as modric is a waste of talent at spurs. they are shite.. wasnt so bad last year as they were in the champions league. but like that will happen again.. hence why spurs are only good as a selling club.. gaarunteed modric will be playing in the lovely colours of blue next season..

The whole thing is inevitable and he will more than likely be lining up in a Chelsea shirt on September 1st but until Chelsea realise we arn't that shambolic bunch of spastics from East London, then they have to put in a proper offer. I just hope its all sorted quickly, rather than Levy doing his usual tactics in order to get an extra £28 on deadline day.

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:34 AM | Unregistered CommenterReal fans went to Famagusta

No. There are at least 2 actually!

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:35 AM | Unregistered Commenteredspur

Why offer £14million? I reckon a swap deal for Robbie "they were my boyhood club" Keane would be enough!

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:35 AM | Unregistered Commenterparklane Phil

Think the 14 million should include terry as well. Keane could be given as a make weight

Jul 16, 2011 at 11:36 AM | Unregistered CommenterMichael Davis

haha! Ark at the hypocrisy of the pre-pubescent chavscum fan.
Got nothing better to do than write childish shit on a Spurs blog
Get the message (and this goes for your poxy WestHam with a lotto ticket club too)

What's all the fuss, chaps. He goes, bigboy danny gets his cut, we take parker and also - er, no, sorry I cant tell you who that is, if I did Arsene would spill his wine again - anyway we take scotty dog and we is all 'appy, as Baley points out. We dont need Modders anyway, do we? Okay he's good, but not THAT good, we have the squad, gentlewmen, we have the squad.
Seriously, 30 millions squidlings and that would pay my directors their cut for the year. Baley can go, we can spend that money on a replacement for Modders and everybody's happy.
Cheers guys.
PS Anyone fancy a flutter on the Emirates Effluents and my old boys Pompey swapping places come next season?

Slightly off topic but is it just me that thinks Ron Gourlay sounds like a soup you'd get served at a particularly poncy restaurant. A perfect fit for the nouveau rich small club in Fulham.

I always thought WinterWeekend's were miserable. Lol.

Making Chelsea use a premium rate number when they call to make their offers for Modric - nice one Daniel!

Norman ;o) 61 was anything but.

Jul 16, 2011 at 12:19 PM | Unregistered CommenterWinterWeekend61

I being a life long Spurs man and yes i do go to watch them despite some idiot putting a lake(irish sea) between me and my beloved club believe this deal will go through.I think it will play out at 32ml +Alex. This will solve many things and also create many.Spurs will use this money to do deals at Madrid(2 players ,the pirate and Diarra) and also use whats left to buy a new striker.I still think Levy will be trying to pull a big one out maybe Augero but to do this players like Keane,Crouch and either Pav or Defoe +Wilson,Jenas and Bentley will have to go to cut the wage bill.It might have been a very slow start to the window but it could just explode in the next few weeks. These are my views not based on info or itk.

Jul 16, 2011 at 12:19 PM | Unregistered Commenterdavy41

You Chelsea Fan's are probably right he will be in a blue shirt next season,WAIT..Isn't our away kit blue? There you have it then httpm://shop.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs-away-kit-pre-order.jpg

Jul 16, 2011 at 12:33 PM | Unregistered CommenterJohnald

He will be a Chelsea player by the start of the season. Levy is mugging himself off with everything he is coming out with. Just take the bloody £30m and concentrate on finding a replacement rather than making a fool of yourself. Why would you want to keep a player who has no interest in playing for you anyway? You don't see that happening at any big clubs. (And don't bring up Fabragas 'cause Arse aren't a big club). £30m is already too much for a player who's main skill is keeping the ball and passing. The lack of goals and assists suggest that at that price you are already taking Chelsea to the cleaners

Jul 16, 2011 at 12:38 PM | Unregistered CommenterAndy

Dont know what all the fuss is about. Reject this latest offer, and hold out for £35million. He is not that integral to our team. We got 4th in 2009/10 with him out for a while with a broken leg. He got injure last year and we did fine without him, he even missed that sitter against Ar5enal which may have put us in a better position to fight for 4th against City. £35mill and we are laughing.
Get Parker, play Niko in Modric's position and get in another central defender and 2 strikers ( Adebayor and say that West Brom fella ) and we will be ok.
Modric is a little rat, and has acted like one. Get rid now.

Jul 16, 2011 at 12:40 PM | Unregistered CommenterMooresy

As a Spurs fan for over 45 years I have seen better players then Modric come and go - life goes on, Spurs will go on. The searing pain of Modric's disloyalty is still strong but I think its time to look to the future.

Talking of the future, I think we could do worse than look to Everton's Foulaini (spelling) the Toffees need the money and we could get him for a player + cash deal. I really rate that guy and he is only 23 so will fit in with our buying policy. What do others think of that idea?

Jul 16, 2011 at 1:11 PM | Unregistered Commenterjohn Dyer

No wonder Luka wants out of a Fucked Bit part club... Call yourselves a really club BBBBBWWWWAAAAAHHHHHH but you'll have won FUCK ALL. Chelsea's cleaners cabinet has more things in it than the YIDS Trophie cabinet

Jul 16, 2011 at 1:11 PM | Unregistered CommenterTotally Blue

If Modric is sold we should not reward Chelsea fans whose postings are simply naked hate. I came across this one yesterday on "Football Talk:"

"Y r spurs fans cryin blood 4 MODRIC? Who they termed average, the writer of this article must be havin a laugh by all these their bitter responses- hey guys WHEN ABRAMOVIC LIKES UR ASS, NOTHIN NOT EVEN UR underwear can keep him away so u lot can shout, cry bleed, faint nd cum 4 as long as u lik bt i see MOD-RICH richer in STAMFORD BRIDGE HAHAHA"

If we do sell him offer him to Man U. SAF wants him and they need a class midfielder as well. But whoever gets him make it for cash and not the suplus rubbish from their own squads e.g. Drogba or ibson or Carrick. If we do insist on selling to Chelsea hold out for McEachen and Sturridge plus 30 million.

Jul 16, 2011 at 1:12 PM | Unregistered Commenterdavid

uhhh.... not true

Jul 16, 2011 at 1:33 PM | Unregistered CommenterSam

Entertaining to see the level of general and footballing literacy displayed by Blue interlopers on this site. If they're for real, Modric is welcome to them.

Gents : when a Big Club turns up at Wembley, the ticket allocation is way oversubscribed, the fans outsing the opposition, and they win. I refer the honourable gentlemen to the 1967 FA Cup Final and a recent League Cup decider. Where were you when you were - not very good (or rich) ?

happy modric has refuded to play for spuds this commimg sat. why risk injury and missing the start of the new season with his new club.lets face the fact, he wolud like to make a flying start for the blues v stoke

Jul 16, 2011 at 1:54 PM | Unregistered CommenterReal fans went to Famagusta

of course he will be sold, but what everyone seem to fail to understand is that its BUSINESS to mr levy, so of course he plays it off like there is no way in hell there will be a sale. its business, he is driving the price up, and then he will "cave" in and sell and blame it all on modric. conslusion: he gets rid of a cry baby, he makes a lot! of money, and the blame is not on him.

Jul 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM | Unregistered Commenterbatman

@cerdo: i'd say its spurs who wont let him play. why risk an injury? whos gonna wanna buy damaged goods?

You see the Daily Star have actually taken to this and published another made up article about how Villa-Boas looks to fill the midfield gap by bringing in Nigel Reo Coker and Jenas!!

Dessy spur are you sure thats an argument (a set of one or more meaningful declarative sentences) you seem well versed in chelsea's history Fact: no argument....chelsea are a bigger club
ps it's demeaning of you to be so zealous/envious of chelsea. its not uncommom for spud fans to be disenchanted.....see the light/move on to supporting one of the big boys...i.e chelsea

CERDO........ FACT: you suck your dads cock while your mummy fucks your ass with a strap on, jog on you glory hunting little C**T!! if we don't wanna sell then we won't it's that simple, i say flog him to man city (the richest club in england) who will pay well over the odds for him and give us adebayor as part of the deal, who the fuck would seriously pay £14m for torres? he can't even score in a brothel the stupid twat! someone needs to explain to luka that terry plays for chelsea and goes around fucking all there wives so he should go to a manchester club who are obviously both better than chelsea as there odds are better than chavskis for the title.
