Relegated by Christmas

Blatantly, the FA Premier League have implemented advanced code in their fixture list computer software to conspire once more against the mighty Tottenham Hotspur's push towards reclaiming a Champions League spot.

The season explodes with a Category A orgy. Let's hope we remember to bring some protection. I don't mind the opening game of the season being at the Lane against beatable opposition, but the following two appear to be of the ilk of mockery. Utd then City. September will be fine, with Liverpool at home sandwiched between Wolves and Wigan away (so that's D, W, D). Which then brings us onto the North London Derby, unceremoniously early for my liking on October 1st. The games from that point onwards up until we face Chelsea on the 20th December, I fancy with chest beating confidence.

It's the period after the new year that doesn't look very appealing. January is home town glory, punctured by an away game at the Eastlands which is never daunting (just saying we know how to play up there on their patch). February on the other hand is like buying a packet of Revels and finding every one you pick out to eat is coffee. March is equally tricky thanks to Man Utd and Chelsea, but points to be had at home I would guess. April is a good month. In fact, so is May.

Hold up, let's try this again.

It's the period after the new year that doesn't look very appealing that has me thinking we'll find our stride towards the leagues conclusion, with perhaps one or two hiccups but no chokes.

Let's face it, no matter how the fixtures are lined up, it's hardly relevant. Last season we had runs of games that were supposedly easy on paper and we faltered. The season before, the fixture list was nigh impossible and we trounced it.

In short: Remain difficult to beat at home and improve our win ratio compared to draws in comparison to the 2011 season. Away from home, no slip ups reminiscent to the Blackpool game.

Other than that, COYS. Fixture list today, world class forward tomorrow.

I would much rather have a difficult start, we need to find top gear early doors so that we can maintain a serious challenge for a top four spot.... bring it on this IS our year, COYS !

Spooky, have you heard anything about this guy we are signing who won Ghana's got talent or something like that? He is a defender?

Maybe we should have a reality show to find a striker, something like JD used to have talent?

like buying a packet of Revels and finding every one you pick out to eat is coffee.

love it

Last I heard everybody plays each other twice. Quite why anyone gives creadance to this nonsense about 'a good start is crucial' as it 'sets the tone for the season' is beyond me. Tell that to Blackpool (or, comong from the other side of things, to Everton)

The only games I ever look for when the fixture list comes out are the ones against the Arse. And lets face it, in recent years those fixtures have changed so much from the dictats of the fixture computer (due to cup involvement and them being generally gay kiddie-fiddlers), that I am not even that bothered about looking for those dates anymore

First things first....Coffee Revels are that daddies!

Last season, I think we suffered in Feb/March time because we had so few games, with 10-14 days between matches and all against average/low quality opposition.....we performed badly but always played a lot better when we were supposed to be tired againts the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, even Man City (despite an undeserved loss).

The season before when faced with a killer run-in we raised our game.

I think that spell from Feb-March 2012 will be a great one for us to get on a real roll to wards the sharp end of the season

All this is injuries permitting...you never know who you have in the injury room come the spring (King & Woody a given).

A tough-ish start will also work in our favour as we will have to hit the ground running and we seem to perform best in the bigger matches.

COYS!

All about momentum. Spurs react best when backs are to wall, so hopefully we can begin with a siege mentality from the off and just have a fuck you attitude about it.

Happy with the fixture list.

We have a good opening game, and a good run in.

every game is hard in the prem, we lost points to the worse teams last season so it doesnt matter. better to play the top dogs before they get into their stride i think. coys!

As Harry has now pointed out, we also have a 2 legged Europa League play-off to play in August.
Rather conveniently the PL have ensured that the 2 games following those are against United & City.

Opening 5 games:

13th August - Everton
18th August - Europa League
20th August - United (likely to be 21st though)
25th August - Europa League
27th August - City (again likely to be 28th).

home on the opening day means the goons are away; wenger will be seething at this blatent breach of the unwritten rule.
ghanas got talent hilarious. he'll turn up at heathrow with 2 million dollars hidden in his suitcase lol.

You will be lucky to finish in the top ten !!
Once Redknapp leaves for the England job you will become a regular top ten side chansing footballing rejects, like Crouch, Keane, Woodgate, Cudicini.. to name just a small number.
Good Luck for the up coming season, you never know once you get knocked out of the Europa League if you concentrate an work hard you might qualify for Europe again through the fair play.

Nice one Liam. Nice of you to banter with Spurs fans. Man Utd fans ignoring you?

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:01 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

It wouldnt be football if there was no banter...

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:05 PM | Unregistered CommenterLiam

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:06 PM | Unregistered Commenterdixta

dixta... arghhh truth hurts aaa pal... terrible joke by the way, couldnt you think of anything in the subject of football or are you just a cartoon person yourself ?

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:11 PM | Unregistered CommenterLiam

Anyway this is my last post... could anyone tell me what channel SPURSTV is on sky ????

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:13 PM | Unregistered CommenterLiam

To be fair Liam, you're sort of apologetically trolling, hence the reason for the lack of effort on our part. You got knocked out the Europa League last year? Did ya qualify for it again? Did ya? Did ya?

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:14 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

wish i had that famous scouse sense of humour (or most likely cockney sense of humour considering you prob live down south). seriously though i think sammy lee is on tonight talking about when you were a great cub all those decades ago and the back pass rule hadn't yet come in, should be good but it does clash with Peppa Pig..

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:16 PM | Unregistered Commenterdixta

And from you, Liam, there ain't no banter. We don't chansing, unlike you when you try to pinch Austin Allegro hubcaps on the East Lancs Road - but in the fast lane.

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:18 PM | Unregistered Commentereruga

Famous scouse sense of humour? It's limited to their banners.

Peppa Pig rules by the way. Love the way they all end up rolling around on the floor at the end of each ep. Kinda reminds me of something...

0-2

What happened to King (Wee Jimmy Krankie) Kenny's party? Did we spoil it?

P.s. You missed a bin Liam...could be luncheon meat, could be peaches, who knows?

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:28 PM | Unregistered CommenterWinterWeekend61

Agreed Peppa is da man. And he's worth 600m quid so all hail the Pigmeister. As for the Scousers, they are of course a great club, and for a time were the greatest in the world. But that was way back. We played them off the park (or paaaark as they would say) when it mattered which is why we'll hopefully be bevvied up in bucharest next may and they'll be watching Keegan 2 toshack 1 Liverpool 3 newcastle 1 (Coleman all hail) in the 74 Cup Final on our fav Sky channel LTV.

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:32 PM | Unregistered Commenterdixta

Liverpool = Fantastic dynasty, fantastic history, fantastic players. Some staggeringly good managers. That cycle ended long ago. No issue with them being proud, but I'm embarrassed by some of their 'online fans' who are probably too scared to go banter with Utd fans.

Jun 17, 2011 at 2:37 PM | Registered Commenterspooky

agreed the utd mob would eat them alive. feel sorry actually for new wave 'Pool/Arse/Utd/chels fans who have only ever known all seaters, Sky, Champs League, 100k a week players, the Emirates, Abramovich..you know what I'm saying. they have no idea and are an embarressment to their franchises, i mean clubs. spurs' fanbase seem to be made of stearner stuff although i wouldnt mind some plastic fantastic fans if it meant our trophy cabinet was full. love the way arse conned their non-season ticket fans for years on those carling cup nights when they played the youth team and beat Sheff Utd 6-0 etc and charged people good money to watch that guff on the basis that this was the team of the future, we are the new Barca/Ajax and in 5 years this lot will all be here and we will win the prem, CL..ah, that never happened did it. Hope all those "fans" enjoyed themselves esp the journey home along holloway road afterwards, nice. Actually my fav journey home from work when i used to live in crouch end was driving along Holloway Rd after PSV knocked them out the CL. The looks on those goons mugs was a picture. I digress. have a good weekend my Spurs chums enjoy our men Kyle Carlos and Rose in the U21s.

So the message from levy is pay £45 million and you can have him!!!
Then in the same para, he states, we do not want to sell him......

So why put a price tag on him then if you do not want to sell?

Jun 17, 2011 at 3:11 PM | Unregistered Commenterhotspurs

The tag actually reads: 'Priceless, now fakk off'..

I tell you what, IF I win €uromillions tonight, I'll buy him myself..and 2 strikers..naturally.

Jun 17, 2011 at 3:41 PM | Unregistered CommenterWinterWeekend61

Yes but look at the last 6 games! All winnable - we should have a good run in.

Jun 18, 2011 at 12:04 AM | Unregistered CommenterWill

Yeah, and look at the first 32 games as well! All winnable!!!
