I'm gutted after seeing Dawson get injured, so glad we have got Gallas! Well done Defoe, he said he was okay in the interview after the game, hope so. That was a class hat-trick. Where on earth was that performance in the World Cup eh? How frustrating.
agree Bassong is a more talented defender than Daws, but less experienced, less of a leader at the mo. Bassong can really kick on if given chance this year
no question that bassong will get his chance, looks like he''ll be partnered by gallas and king this should really bring his game on.
Could we have a bit more concern for Dawson before coming out with such crap as calling it 'a blessing in disguise' (arsehole whoever said that) and saying it doesn't matter cos so and so us better. I dint care how good Dawson is, he plays his heart out for spurs and I'm genuinely gutted and upset for him. He seems like one of the good guys in a profession full of twats.
Just to confirm,
I think Dawson is great, bassong is ok and King is awesome. I don't remember suggesting much different...
My point was that bassong played well last season and given games, will be good this season - only if king or gallas are along side him.
Those of you who think bassong is better than Dawson are bonkers in the nut.

Dawson great season last year no question. Injury looks bad. Don't think anyone here is not gutted for him and he's a big loss. But nothing wrong with hoping Bassong can fill the void as he's def got the talent, still quite young and will get better

If/When Bassong has been given the 3-4 seasons of regular PL games, he will be a much better player than Dawson.
Ask yourself....If Bassong was white and English....and Dawson was black and French.....I can pretty much guarantee people would have a woody in their sweats about Bassong, and think Dawson was the worst defender we've had since Dean Richards.
Bassong has has 6 months-ish of regular football. Dawson has had about 4 years. And is there really that much difference in their play? I'm laying my nuts on the dresser here. Bassong is an infinately more talented defender than Dawson. Bang them shits with a spiked bat. This injury will be a blessing in disguise, I can see Willy and Bassong making a pretty awesome CB combo.

Chrisman, either you have only recently begun following spurs or your memory is conveniently selective. Dawson has not been consistently playing for four years. He joined us as a make weight when we bought Andy Reid--remember him? He did play regularly under Jol and finished second to Berbatov that year as player of the year. He got called up to the England squad that summer and did his ankle big time in training. Was out for quite a while. Ramos didn't fancy him much and he played only occasionally when he did return, partly due to him being hospitalized with migraines at one point. Harry didn't play him much to begin with either but he eventually worked his way back into the starting 11 and was an ever present last year--when he won player of the year.
Now, I'm not telling you to shut up, but I am saying you're totally full of shit with your constant hate-on for Dawson. I personally would love to see Keane and Pavs get a chance for a run of games together, but I wouldn't stand up and cheer if Defoe suffered a massive injury. Get some professional help, you twisted f***.

Haha! I was going to say I too have seen Dawson's knob....It's not photoshopped at all! unless it was Spooky's doing! This was an entry on this very blog...I know because I stole it (but credited this site I hasten to add) and put in on my own blog. :o)
