Choking on my coco-pops

Morning. Well, actually, afternoon, but let's not get bogged down by details. Straight to the point:

Gallas. Captain. Possibly.

I didn't agree with Robbie Keane's captaincy on his return from his hellish Anfield loan and would find this particular appointment to be a tad disrespectful. Not so much because of his connection to the swamp things but because he hasn't even pulled on a Spurs shirt yet and we have plenty of seasoned Lilywhites that are far far far more deserving.

We await.

Hey Danger. Nobody cares.

I love how the scum just can't stay away.

But enough about them.

Not too clever today. We need to quickly fix the formation and make sure we can concentrate on the league as well as CL football because the players once more looked distracted. Although we did okay with Modric on the pitch. VDV had a decent enough debut. Other than that, second half, non-existent for the rest of them. Kaboul decent. Bale also. Nothing much more. CC saved us from 0 points.

Hey danger, want to promise you'll browse into this blog when Arsenal next lose? So we can discuss it? What's that? You'll be hiding under you bed pissing your pants? Okay then. No worries.

its time that club like spurs , city are put to their places and liverpool somehow return where they belong .......but to b honest will take spurs anyday over chelsea who still are just that same old tiny little fanless club in london....stupid club got lucky with money from mad russian.

You a Liverpool fan? Am I missing something here?

Sep 11, 2010 at 6:13 PM | Unregistered Commenterilk

again da fat spz harry redkanpp who says fuck 24/7 lost because he ddi not buy a striker, not replacce the RB and LB. Still uses that freak palacios and has not got rid of all that crap up front.

Sep 11, 2010 at 6:18 PM | Unregistered Commenterpristar

no sense making too much of it. I don't understand how much longer Palacios, Lennon, Corulka can hold their places. Dos Santos deserves a chance on the right and Lennon should be made to step it up. He's non-existant. Corluka gives us zero going forward and is a liability on set pieces where as Kaboul was excellent at rigth back last year. Palacios looks completely lost every which way. Can't do anything right. Sandro should be given a shot and I don't even know him. Christ, even Jenas would make more sense at this point. Harry has a lot of work to do but I'm very confident the squad has the talent to sort it out. Bale is still a beast. I hope to christ Modric isn't out long. Gallas looked okay.. Keane actually very sharp. VDV? Meh.. did well enough I suppose. Christ, hard to put too much into the game when Gomes, Defoe, Modric, Dawson are all out.

@ ilk
is there any rule that anyone here other than spurs fan woulb b a arsenal fan why are you so insecure , i also wander through arsenal blogs but if i am right they dont give sh!t about spurs.....

Sep 11, 2010 at 6:20 PM | Unregistered Commenterdanger

I cannot believe I am saying this, but -JJ in defensive midfield. At least until Sandro is rested up.

Sep 11, 2010 at 6:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterDubaiSpur

I have no complaints. We defo earned this point. HR did well in patching up the team. We lost Modric too early but were still in the game and put up the fight. Unfortunately, VdV and Gallas ran out of steam in the second half, which was the consequence of lack of playing time for both. Till then both did ok. However, this point should lift their confidence, and I can’t wait to see them jell in the team. We could have won but could have lost, too. My praise go to all the players for their efforts and shown fighting spirit. Well done under the circumstances.

Money saving tips.

Don't buy your strikers in the summer.

Wait until January when everyone can see you are desperate.

A perfect way to get that being held to ransom.

Sep 11, 2010 at 7:42 PM | Unregistered CommenterEric

Can we just end the season now please?!
Modric going to have scan on leg, with the possibility he's fractured it again!

Sep 11, 2010 at 7:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterWalkerboy

Cris. Proving what Spooky said in his recent video. Arsenal win, Spurs don't, so it's safe for them to pop in and say hello. How obvious.

When's the DVD out Cris?

Sep 11, 2010 at 9:07 PM | Unregistered Commentermon

These goon scum are such sad individuals.
especially when no one here seems to suggest anything about us being better than arsenal. I guess they are so insecure, ignorant, illiterate to realize that as spooky's cartoon makes clear all we are saying is that we are getting better and what does it have to do with them?
I stand by the point I made earlier. We aren't as good as them. Not nearly. Yet. Arse, Manure and Cheatski are still in a different class from us.
But look around the EPL. After the top 3 what do we see? Shitteh? Red Scousers? Blue Scousers? Foolham? Vanilla? Against teams like that we have a chance.
We're not quite up to Arsenal's level but we are getting closer.
End of story.

until a new signing turns up with the cockerel tattoed on his chest carrying his bollocks in a wheel barrow, lets make do with what we have. The silent but talismanic ledders, spirited daws or gallas (proven).skipper should be ch or anchorman end of.

Sep 12, 2010 at 12:19 AM | Unregistered Commenterpaulo octavious

keane pissing off to liverpool is irrelevant,he doesnt constructively influence play throughout the team coz he is a striker & he needs to focus on whats left of his spurs career anyway.

Sep 12, 2010 at 12:24 AM | Unregistered Commenterpaulo octavious

Palacios and Lennon were abysmal, while Corluka was so slow I thought the dash button on my PS3 controller was fecked. It's also probably no coincidence that WBA were all over us when we brought on Keane and Crouch and gave up the midfield in favor of route one balls. I thought VdV had a good debut, very lively playing in the hole and winning a number of free kicks (which we promptly wasted).

Sep 12, 2010 at 2:38 AM | Unregistered Commenterdocomospur

As for the captaincy, heck if I know. We've got a very talented squad of players but no leaders. I can accept Gallas if he's proven on the training ground that he's a natural leader with the other players.

Sep 12, 2010 at 2:44 AM | Unregistered Commenterdocomospur

That was Pav's worst game in a Spurs shirt. Invisible.

BRING BACK CROUCH !!

Sep 12, 2010 at 11:26 AM | Unregistered CommenterChiv

Sack redknapp sell everyone and start all over again.

Or do this on Tuesday

---------------------pleti---------------------

-------gallas----ledley-----bassong------

kaboul-------------------------------bale---

-----------------thud------jj------------------

------------------------vdv--------------------

--------------keane--------pav---------------

Can't hurt to try.

Sep 12, 2010 at 1:16 PM | Unregistered CommenterTomtraubert

no broken leg for modric thank god! Apparently he is travelling out for the game on tuesday. Modric was fantastic yesterday until he went off injured, if we can keep him and hudd on the pitch all year, we will remain strong. Please GOD can some of our strikers find their goal scoring boots ASAP

I like that formation. Corluka, BAE, Palacios, Lennon all need to spend at least a little time in the wilderness as far as I'm concerned. I like the idea of Younes in with Bale. Not sure about JJ but Werder is the type of game where he could excel.
Only change I'd make would be swapping Crouch for Keane or Pav. Crouch will score for us against European teams.

Sep 12, 2010 at 7:19 PM | Unregistered Commenternycyid

Tom, two things:
1. You left big hole in our back line (Bale), and 2. there is no one up there capable to score

God forbid if their winger Marin switches from left to right (and he's capable to play both sides similar to Lennon)
You also seem to give up the midfield. It is too soft and slow. With this formation we'll be up for a long night and easily swallow 5 goals and not score a single one.
.

Sep 12, 2010 at 9:12 PM | Unregistered Commenterbeetleblues

4 across the back is still is the way to go, for mine. Bale is first name on temsheet but who knows if its left midfield or left back. Clearly King is starting. Huddlestone and VDV are sure to figure. Cudicini did enough to get the nod in goal if Gomes isnt fit yet.

I think if you are going to play Kaboul/Gallas over Bassong on Saturday, I can't see Bassong making the first XI on Tuesday. I strongly suspect Harry wants Gallas and King starting at the back. Kaboul gives us so much more than Corluka and I hope Harry uses him at RB. I hope we see Bale pushed forward to left midfield to strengthen the attack and allow BAE back in the side.

I don't know who plays CM with Huddlestone with Modric out. Palacios' form is woeful. Jenas lack of matches makes him a question mark. Sandro unproven. Krancjar I am more comfortable on the right or left than in the middle and I like the idea of Kaboul overlapping on the right with Krancjar drifting in from the right. So Krancjar on the right for mine.

Maybe VDV plays CM and Keane plays off Pav or Crouch?

It's all a bit messy.

Sep 13, 2010 at 8:08 AM | Unregistered CommenterTim

We must have hit a new low if people are asking for JJ in stead of Palacios , don't get me wrong , i am convinced JJ will do a better job at the moment because Wilson just needs a rest it seems.

VDV did a good job , Gallas was ok and thankfully Moddles is no severly injured. I was pretty impressed with Cudicini , he looked sharp and did some great saves.

Sep 13, 2010 at 9:24 AM | Unregistered Commenterbelgian spur

Cudicini made some good saves, but was the goal his fault? Did he tell Kaboul to leave it? King would've headed clear and asked questions later.

I dont see how playing bale as a WB leaves a hole in defence becuase if we play a flat back four with bale as LB he's actually going to play with a WB mentality...better having 3 cd's behind him if thats the case...anyway I reckon marin wont switch to his side as he will have a better shot at kaboul than bale.

I dont reckon the midfield is "slow" I reckon having JJ in instead of wilson would be a good thing at the moment. JJ is more mobile than wilson when he wants to be and can play the simple pass. If its only going back to our defenders at least we still have the ball..thud will try the more forward orientated difficult passes!

Its a moot point though because if Modric is actually fit then I reckon 4-4-2 is what harry will go with.

However dont be surprised if we announce after the match that Modric did actually get injured and this whole business of going to germany with the squad is just to throw the Germans off.

I do know we need to do something different.

Playing Keane up front with Pav and having VdV or Modric behind them could be a masterstroke....It could become a keane/berba type partnership. They are both technically sound players and are intelligent. Pav's work ethic leaves a little to be desired but he needs a little love a few goals and a run in the team. Also playing someone behind Keane will force him to stop coming so deep all the time.
