Levy, don't even think about it

Dear Mr Levy,
I'll get straight to the point.
Leyton high road, in-between the KFC and Orient is Coronation Gardens. Lovely place, probably the only place in Leyton where you won't find a bed mattress or broken television every few feet as you walk briskly along. What you will find are some park benches, specifically the ones that face the high road, near the bus stop. And here, on Fridays and most weekends you will see Whiskey Tom. You can't really miss him to be honest. Stinks to high heaven, always intoxicated on Tennents, puking up against walls, screaming at the trees. He's about forty-five, looks sixty. Scruffy beard, stained clothes. You get the picture. He's a hobo, a tramp. Probably has some mighty deep story about how he ended up on the streets, but you'll never get past his ramblings to ever know.
He's a fruit loop. My personal favourite was the time he pissed in his boots and chased a number 357 bus screaming till his lungs burst that 'Satan's seed needed to be purified'. Go visit, he's always there. Not sure what he does for the rest of the week, but probably sleeps it off in some squat somewhere. Or just uses one of the many street-beds you get in that part of east London.
If you want to sign someone on a free, then I suggest Tom. To my knowledge he has absolutely no associations with Chelsea and Arsenal and even though his plight appears to be one of sadness, he's actually quite content with his little kingdom of desolation. You'll never find him sitting in the middle of the street crying. Standing up and urinating over cars, guaranteed on a Saturday night.
Don't say I didn't give you the heads up.
regards,
Spooky

Take him!
In regards to sol campbell, I'm pretty sure gooners didn't say 'he's ex-tottenham, don't touch him' they woulda said something like 'those blokes down the road are scum and their players are coming to a place where they have a chance of winning silverware! Right on!'
Sooooo.... Why can't we say the same thing? It's not like arsenal will win anything...
Yeah, sure, Levy and Harry are gonna listen to some mug’s suggestion.
Anyway, now I am 100% sure that Gallas is a cunt, thanks to the info posted earlier by the Master Dumbass himself:
“I never did like the cunt not because of who he played for but because I'd heard he was a cunt”.
That is so fucking convincing that I will hate HR and DL for the rest of my life if they dare to pull out this signing.
good player in his time. But sorry the guy is a cock not just that he played for the woolwich. How can you take anyone seriously sulking in the centre-circle. As soon as he he makes a mistake the crowd will be on his back. Silly silly silly.
Judas was kinda of in in his prime. Gallas is ready for the knackers yard and not exactly comparible with Jennings as one is a legend and the other in the antichrist.
To be honest i think this is one of the best moves harrys ever done in his life if it comes off... If we get behind him in the first match at home I'm sure he'll play well for us!! he doesnt care about arsenal or chelsea
Im not sure what loyalty has to do with it, he is a footballer that wants to play football end of. Yes agreed he has played for the nuggets from W. London and the tossers up the road but im sure he will do his best for us. Got to be better that some c.b`s we have at mo. Bassong is dodgy as is Kaboul, woodgate is more or less finished and Leders plays when he can and as for Charlie, i dont think i have seen him pass the ball forward for 10 games.
Oh yeah, MARKO, HR has done it before. While at crappy Popey, in a short time he brought in Muntari, Diarra, Sol, Niko, Traorre (from Chelski), young Campbell (from ManU), Crouchy, Defoe, Glen Johnson, and turn them into respectable side (won the FA Cup with them).
Dougie,
You obviously didn't see a Berne game, cause it was Charlie that slid that wonderful pass to Kino for the Pav's goal.
Who the fuck is Jummy Greaves?
Don't be daft, Gallas will be the perfect replacement for Woodgate and will make the centre back position well covered. All we need now is a decent right back and a striker who can play in a 451.
I really am opposed to the idea of Gallas as a spurs player , people talk about his leadership and experience ... euh come again ? Did we not see how he reacted during his arse years (remember the penalty sobbing incident) so leadership ... dont think so
He gets in to rows with his younger team mates all the time , sulkes , cheats , loses his temper and why would we sign an Arse reject? He wasn't good enough for them anymore so why would he cut it for us ?
He has had problems in every team he played for , even in the french team he is supposed to be a disruptive influence (and you know that's hard in a team filled with grade a c*nts)
This is not a lillywhite , at all ... He was the gooner captain for god's sake , that's a gooner icon and i really hope the deal falls through
Hleb i could live with , Gallas ... On of the few players in the modern game i deeply loathe ... They sign him and i won't boo him but my faith in Levy and Harry has gone down just a little bit , there are other options ... surely there must be other options ?
For the love of god , let the reject remain a reject
Rant over
Look, ever since George Graham became our manager, all barriers were broken! I hate Gallas as a person, as a team member. It doesn't matter who he used to play for. However, it looks like it will happen. If he signs, I will get used to it quickly, but I still have my fears. I see a lot of risks. Harry has the right idea - until we know the long-term Woodgate situation, we need a short-term solution. Just would have preferred someone else. Oh well.
Who cares about last minute bargain buys.
After a great year we have shown a shocking lack of ambition to push on and if we falter there is no one to blame but ourselves.
Gallas could also play Left back instead of Ekotto whos dodgy as fuck
And here we go again with the BAE slating.
T - all clubs barring City have gone for bargain buys. We are not the only one. Arsenal, Man U, especially Liverpool have picked up free transfers. I don't see a lack of ambition, I see Harry being picky on who he goes for.
Boz, not slatng, just stating a fact that he's our weakest link
Well, Gallas HAS covered left back, but he is right footed. Not sure how effective he is there now at 33. But cover at left back would be nice.
I think we should try Kaboul at right-back. He did well there when Charlie was out at the end of last season.
Charlie is our right back for me. Kaboul did ok in merely a handful of games. Has anyone noticed that Charlie has lost loads of weight since last season? let's hope his performances reflect this.
Chazza, Spurs supporting Chazza then? There's a West Ham Chazza who posts on here from time to time. Just confirming.
All of you cunts wanting to sign Gallas the Cunt: red cards and no appeal.
What a bunch of shithouses.
Machine , i was wondering the same thing , he used the term our weakest link so must be another Chazza then (or he forget the Y )
If you had asked me last season, in all seriousness, I would have said that the best 3 CBs in the PL are King, Carvalho and Gallas. People's opinions of his play are biased by what they think of him as a person (a 'reverse Dawson'). Gallas is/was a disruptive, stroppy cunt at Arsenal, but actually, the entire team is like that. No one likes each other there. It's apparently a horrible dressing room full of giant egos where no one likes or trusts each other. So hopefully he will be ok at Spurs.
This is as close to a 'knee-jerk' signing as you can get. The thing with a 'knee-jerk' is there are some situations where the jerking of the knees is a perfectly appropriate reaction. Like if you don't knee jerk, then you have some kind of paralysis or degenerative brain disease. I think going 3-0 down after half hour against Young Boys is exactly one of those situations. A drastic situation. It calls for a drastic reaction. I'm perfectly happy with this signing, because it sends out a message to the players at fault on Tuesday. The message is 'Anything sub-standard will not be tolerated, and will be dealt with swiftly'.
Top class CBs with proven PL experience are few and far between, and to get one on a free is very fortunate. I rate Hangeland too, but seeing as he would cost about 15mil and Gallas is free it's a no brainer.
Like I said, I still rate him as one of the top CBs in the PL, and him and King playing together will be awesome. Sadly this may be the end of the road for Dawson as a starter though. I'm sure Gallas will play his way ahead of Dawson in the reckoning. I'm sure the fans won't be happy, but if Gallas lets his football do the talking, he'll soon get everyone onside.
Spooky: Whiskey Tom would need to run a mile from Coronation Gardens to find a 357 bus. And this geezer will be OK for a bit part - a cheap solution until a better player comes along and Levy decides to open his piggy bank again.
If Harry wants his Sandra to play for Spurs I'll support him. The man knows the game of football better than anyone, and he knows who the player is when he sees one. And if he said “I want Gallas” he should get him. End of fucking story. Some of Spurs fans should stop moaning and crapping about things Gallas did or didn’t do because none of them has any fucking first hand knowledge of it. All that… “yeah, but I’ve heard that he….” is pure bullshit and distraction. If Liverpool is happy with Joe Cole why are some Spur fans grumbling about Gallas? Grow up (and while your at it, some balls, too). The ultimate thing is the success of the Spurs, and I don’t fucking care which way Harry’s going to achieve it.
What about a 97a?
its evident that more experience is needed at spurs even with the current squad ........
and whiskey Tom is rumoured to be on a free transfer so is a steal..........
hope he gets a sesh in the local pool.n shower ........as he might upset a few in the dressing room
all n all as with all shrewd deals with Redknapp n levy inc.........he ll be worth double (or a double)
Stupid Article. Lets get behind him Spurs fans and rub Ar5ena1s nose in it. His quality, hust what we need. He is experienced and has a winning mentality. COYS
William Gallas to score the winner against the Arse this year.........
Bets please..
He ll be great for us .......good signing........ignore the stoopid
years ago ...Jimmy greaves west ham......Pat jennings etc.....always welcome and respected...after all....
some fans have to wise up...and unblinker there heads
....if we want to stay in the stratosphere of the modern leagues
From someone who's seen Gallas play far more than you I seriously can not beleive some of the comments that have been written. This is an absolute masterstroke.
Three days ago all of you saw your only two consistently available centrebacks completely at sea against a relatively small swiss uefa cup standard outfit, today find out that your signing a centre back who has consistenetly performed to a high level in premier league title pushes, the latter stages of the champions league (often surrounded by complete incompetents by the way) and has reached a world cup final and some of you are complaining about it. If you watched the young boys game and think this FREE SIGNING of a top level player won't help you massively then you need some help. Its fans like you who are have held your club back.
Spurs fans always talk about wanting to be up there and pushing on, then the second you get an established top class player in your sight you go sour, and start moaning that he's coming in. And all for the small reason that when he walks into your starting line up it will affirm that we (Arsenal) have had a better centre back than any of yours playing for us over the last five years, contrary to your wishful thinking and skewered perceptions. BIG DEAL. It doesn't matter to gooners and it shouldn't matter to you. Its something you should have worked out anyway after seeing his last two performances you. Its completely childish and pathetic and I for one do hope he gets booed of the field and unsettled after his first mistake.
Like I said I saw every Arsenal game last season and barring one or two he was absolutely brilliant. He was the best perfroming centre back in the league for the first couple of months, hasn't noticabely declined and will improve you immediately. He's fast, composed, reads the game brilliantly and unlike your centre backs hardly ever makes mistakes. And he's also a leader with a winning mentalilty who leaves his guts on the pitch every time even if he is a narrow minded, egotistical cock. This is a very good signing for you beleive me, and the reason I've written so much is because I'm pissed off that Wenger is too tight to sign him back. He's the sort of signing you need to push on. If you made one more like that up front or in centre mid I'd start to worry.
PS Fabiano has signed for Marseille
Big Red - Nothing wrong with a small amount of techno fear... I agree the ex-Arsenal stuff is stupid. (The Mancs, Scousers and even Glaswegians are swapped players - with less of a fuss). My fear is the off-ptich stuff - can I can accept that that is less likely to happen in merely one season. It will just take a while to get used to it!
Spooky rates this signing. He's told me as much. I'd ignore his piss take of a blog post.
What was that about getting straight to the point?
The very same Gallas who had his captaincy stripped and yet its a masterstroke. How so? The petulant fuck is hardly a true team player, sure he might scream and bark orders but in the end he'll cause headaches in the dressing room.
Spooky needs to take a cab ride to get to the point. Be lucky he opted for that and didn't skip backwards.
why is he called whiskey tom if he always drinks tennants? ffs spooky, if you're going to reccomend a new signing, get your facts right. No wonder Levy is having so much trouble signing someone if this is what he has to work with
@bigred - if he's so good why didn't you keep him? Robbie keane skinned him alive in the latest great victory over you scum has beens so I bet you'd like us to sign him... What you doing here anyways? Really don't need the 2 cent of a scummy tat on here...
Well after reading all the posts so far, what a great signing.
All the people with personal knowledge of Gallas, and it must be really personal knowledge, because it appears he is both a c*ck and a c*unt making him the first hermaphrodite to play for Spurs (well that we know about)....cool!!
Great signing if it happens...let's get behind the lad and bring out his best football, which is what we want. COYS!
You boys need to calm down and remember the name on the front of the shirt is more important than the one on the back
Tennents Tom is a well known drunk in the Paddington area, and due to copyright infringement, our Tom decided to name himself after his second favourite drink.
PLN - best post yet.
Looking at the references to Chelsea and Arsenal, I recall a time when Chelsea were almost a feeder club to us. Jimmy Greaves, our greatest ever striker came from there, albeit via Milan, as did Bobby Smith, Les Allen and Terry Venables.
Looking at the Arsenal equation, there is only one ex-Arsenal player that ever did us any good - Clive Allen, and he never got to play for them. He was signed for £1 mill from QPR, and transferred a few weeks later for the same amount during the close season.
Other than that and without even mentioning the skulduggery that took place in 1919, we swapped Jimmy Robertson, for David Jenkins (They must have seen us coming). The next import we had from there was Terry Neill who replaced Billy Nick. He then went on to manage Arsenal, taking several of our best players with him.
Then there was George Graham. I don't think I need to repeat that history.
In between, we let them have Pat Jennings on a free, much to the shame of our then board. At the time, he held the record for Spurs appearances and played for them for another six years while still one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world.
Campbell is another that I need not mention.
What did they give us in return: Rohan Ricketts who was last heard of upsetting his employers in Toronto.
If we are getting someone called William Gallas via Arsenal, can someone please make sure that it is the footballer, and not the bloke who works part time in the fish and chip shop in the High Street. To coin a phrase, "Beware of Arses bearing (or even baring) gifts.
beetleblues
How does saying this
"I never did like the cunt not because of who he played for but because I'd heard he was a cunt”.
make me a Master Dumbass?
If I happen to voice my opinion based on what reliably informed others have told me then what gives you the right to slag me off about it? (ok i could have explained further but I summarised the information I'd been told over the years into the word cunt)
I've already said that from a footballing and financial standpoint this is a very good move its just that I dont want him causing a rift in the dressing room that will set us back. We deserved over the course of the whole of last season to finish 4th. I'd not be happy if Gallas came in and upset the apple cart and we struggled this season in the league as a result. Because lets face it the league will be a priority this season.
Anyway I've also said that if anyone can sort him out its Joe & Harry. I hope i'm right.
So i'll respectfully suggest that you refrain from posting personal insults in future. We all wear the blue and white here. Hope this is not the start of Gallas splitting us down the middle.
And bigredmachine
Where'd you hear Fabiano signed for Marseille? Thought that was Remy
as far as anyone causing a rift in the dressing room........it wont happen as redknapp wont allow such bull.......to upset the direction of the team and club
theres too much at stake.........Gallas is a professional. and is much needed regarding our defence issues.....
woodgate and King as great as they are will not double up this year as is needed....
to push on no means an even better effort,,,,,,,,if we get Diarra then awesome...........
the fact is extra experience will count ........
it wasnt easy getting there last year........it will be harder to stay......
Cmon Billy Gallas..........
It was in L'equippe on Monday that an offer had been accepted, I didn't check since but thought would be done.
Anyway, generally to all of you stop thinking backwards, youve signed a great defender whos a step up and thats the bottom line. Get behind him, even if he did play for us. Most footballers at the top are c*nts with massive ego's anyway so you have to get used at some point
Cheers
For a gooner, I like the cut of your jib.
Busy blog today Spooks.
If he plays well he'll be accepted, don't see this is the same as Graham.
If he plays badly he'll feel like he's been thrown to the lions.
What if he scores against the scum?
What if he scores an own goal against the scum!?
SSN are saying he won nothing up the arse?
What if we won the double and they won nothing, is there a song we could sing?
