Spurs hit by 'bug' virus. Lightning strikes twice.
Training HQ shut down. Eighteen players and staff affected with illness. Wilson Palacios and Vedren Corluka struggling to be fit for the Everton game on Sunday.
The far reaching remnants of David Dein's devastating influence years after 2006 and the biggest conspiracy since JFK have ghosted back in to potentially damage our run-in campaign.
In addition, Defoe (hamstring) and Bentley (hair out of place) are also injury concerns. And with Pompey in administration, expect Kevin Prince Boateng to return for an undisclosed fee in the summer, just to compound the hurt further.
RIP 2010 season; faster than you can tuck into a pasta dish and puke it up.
But do not fret. We have Kaboul ready and willing to slot into the right-back position as he was re-signed as a utility player (of sorts). But alas, no need. Because BAE (who isn't a right back) can play there because even though he's not a right-back naturally, he's more trusted to achieve stability in that position than the aforementioned player.
But do not fret. We have Kaboul ready and willing to slot into the defensive midfield position as he was re-signed as a utility player (of sorts). But alas, no need. Jenas can partner Huddlestone in the middle. Hahaha, just jesting, just jesting. He's also struggling with an injury.
So perhaps Modric can play there with Niko out on the left. In fact if we need to draft in a sack of potatoes to do a job in place of Jenas/Kaboul in Wilson's (probable) absence, then so be it.
No Azza, he's apparently flying off to Europe for an op. Ah Europe, the promised land. One day, one day.
I have not a clue how well we've managed to train yesterday/today with the Lodge locked down. I can only hope that Everton's limp away form and a rejuvenated Pav will be able to do enough to win the day for us. Harry continuing his half-arsed attempts at back-pats by suggesting Roman needs to work harder, which to be fair is half decent motivation. Although completely redundant comments unless the Russian picks up a copy of The Sun and asks his interpreter to translate.
Never boring, this THFC lark. COYS.
Enjoy your Friday afternoon.

I hate lasagna, man flu and the goons down the road. Love curry, beer and fast women...
Another sublime post from the ledg that is Spooky!!
Shall I get "sack of potatoes" and the number 8 printed on the back of my shirt for Sunday???
Anyone for a game of cricket?
"Bentley (hair out of place)"...classic stuff Mr Spooks.
I'm trying to grow my hair like the boy wonder; slick, sexy wet look to go with those slick ,sexy skills.
Lennon has apparently gone to "see a specialist"
I assume Joe Jordan's optometrist couldn't get to the bottom of the problem.
Palacios sick? I am a bit worried because without him we will give Arteta too much time on the ball. We have absolutely no one else who could do this job in midfield in his absence... In Summer - wanted: tough tackling, high energy yet skillful midfielder to play either alongside or instead of Wilson Palacios when rested or rotated. As for Kaboul - I cannot see him getting another game this season. Apparently he signed for 5m - I hope the real cost was a lot less - just re adjusting payments owed to us from Portsmouth. (I guess we wouldn't have got those payments anyway right? May as well get Kaboul back)
i know the bentley thing is a joke , but i heard hes actually injured but all the news is about defoes hamstring, wharts wrong with bentley?
The squad have been training at a playing field not far from the training ground. All non-essential staff have been sent home until Monday (i wish they did that in my office) and the academy players have been the worst affected by the illness. Charlie and Wilson were actually sick before the bolton game so I reckon they'll be alright.
The truth is out there etc.
if palacios is out we are really in trouble , just when i was thinking somethings going right 4 us what with everton being knackered after coming back from portugal and everton being guitted after going out turns out our players will be more knackered FUCK THIS WE ARE FUCKING JINXED.
Jenas usualy plays well against Everton (well he did once) so we will be alright.
Why are we so unlucky???? Lets hope that Palacios and Corluka recover in time and no other players get hit with this virus. If we are missing Palacios we could be in real trouble in what is already going to be a really difficult game. Now that Pompey looked completely doomed (Which is a real shame, sad to see really) hopefully Harry will call back O'hara as he is good cover. My thoughts are he should already be at Spurs as we all know what a waste of time JJ is.
Come on Spurs don't let the footballing Gods beat you again! ( I wonder if they wear RED???) Amen.
Should Harry be public with his thoughts about Pav? I always thought the best managers keep the shouting and ranting behind closed doors. In public, it's always the ref's fault or fixture congestions fault or the other teams anti-football approach or basically anything other than criticising his players.
How about 'toa, tora, tora', Pav and Defoe up front, with Crouch, and Gudjonssen, and Kaboul (just kidding also about Kaboul).
Bale, Modric and Krancjar just behind the front four, followed by
Hudd as Quarter back just in front of:
Dawson and Bassong at the back.
Win the game 12-10, but a win nonetheless. Go on you know you all want to see that happen.
Sound insane, but would be the game of the decade.
Sick bugs make me ....well....sick!!
Robbie's only on loan, can't we fly him back if Defoe's not well.
And, I've heard that with Pompey going into admin and needing cash, we've actually bought their stadium and will be attaching it to WHL in the close season. Kills two birds with one cheque. Actually, does more than that. With all of the players that have played for both teams, we can use Portsmouth as our reserve team in the championship and Harry can manage both teams..... oh, and we can also ban that shite with the bell, forever!!
Guys I'm in new York on business do any of you know of a bar etc that this will be shown?(everton
game) apparently espn is diff here?
Not sure Wilson will be anywhere near being fit considering I had this bug and its pretty much a knock our punch for 2 days or so and you're weak as fuck from it.
Enter JJ. Who's had the bug for around 6 years.
If we are going to put a bag of potatoes in there in place of Palacios in preference to Kaboul can I suggest a much respected though ageing variety called 'Home Guard' which seems appropriate for a defensive mid.
Its not very mobile but very reliable in most weather conditions.
every1 is hard on jermaine jenas. hes still a great player, hes been out of form when playing because of his lack of games. and hes just been injured so he hasn't been able to give a starting place a push otherwise harry would be talking about putting a rocket up his ass aswell. i would really like to see us play , bassong dawson bale corluka, and then play palacios as a holding player infront of the back four, with jenas and huddlestone going forward. then pav, gudjohnson and mayb modric there to wonder around to help link up play. i think we'd be unstoppable with that line up
To Paul,

Floyds in Brooklyn, home to the New York Spurs Supporters club.
8am kickoff.
Everton had a shit record at the Lane up until that year Andy Johnson did us over. They've had some smart performances since. Still reckon we'll win through, bug or no bug. Jenas or no Jenas. Hows' that for confidence.
Pacific yid thanks pal great news! Top man
To Tricky - I know it is a joke formation, but are you 70 or 80 years old? That is the formation they used to play decades ago before teams became more tactical, and ...err sensible! A 3-3-4! Also we are harsh on Jenas because he is not a great player. A great player is someone playing well, NOW. I don't care if you used to play quite well, what are you doing now? Otherwise let's call up Jimmy Greaves - he's great right?
A quick creatine shake/epo chaser should sort out Willy P. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that Kaboul and Gudjonsen will both play, and do ok. I hope to shitting crikey Everton come at us and give it the large one, cos they will prob get ripped apart. We will win this one. One nil. I can sense it.
After reading Harry's article in the Sun today, I can say with complete honesty that he will never make it as a top manager. What a sad, childish, petty man. I have honestly never felt this angry about anyone associated with Spurs, not even Campbell. My blood is literally boiling. Harry is being a whining little schoolgirl. Can't you shut your mouth for 5 seconds? Sorry but I'm livid. He's just using his column as a platform to slag off Pav. Uttely pathetic, what the fuck is he trying to acheive? You're fucking boring Harry. Yeah he can't speak english and He's a bit lazy. He's fucking Russian for christ sake!!! Get over it!! Embrace his strengths, don't dwell on his weaknesses.
Ok, calming down now.....
Read the article , sharing the anger ...
What did Pavlyuchenko ever do for us?
Oh yes apart from scoring within five minutes on his first appearance this year.
Oh well apart from his first appearance.
Scoring two on his second appearance this year.
Well yes apart from his second appearance.
Scoring two on his first start in the league this year.
Well apart from scoring another two on his first leaguie start.
Hat-trick against Everton?
Saved your chops Mr. Redknapp
Shannon, I'm biting my tongue so fucking hard it's bleeding!
Hi Chrisman - I agree that he shouldn't criticise players in public - some are sensitive - look at Bent (although I am glad he has gone).
Redknapp won't be a top manager because he will retire soon - he is 62/63 and has said that he won't go on forever. I am a tad worried because our next appoinment will be vital. We could be back to Gerry Francis (unambitious), Gelnn Hoddle / Ardilles (past hero that will never make a truly great manager), Christian Gross (poor man's Wenger - admittedly doing quite well now), Juande Ramos (fish out of water), George Graham (ex-scum and a relic)...
anyone else think pav was just trying to poison crouch? :-P
Have you seen Gerry Francis' hair recently? Incredible.
Harry is the best man for the job prob. I honestly don't know what to think. I never flip flop on my footballing opinions but this guy has really mindfucked me. Is he a cunt? If he is, does it matter? If it does, how much?
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but please, just shut up about Pav!!
@ Paul in NYC.
Go watch the game at Nevada smiths in downtown manhattan, wicked atmosphere in there. I watched a game there last year whilst on holiday.
COYS
"Never boring, this THFC lark. " spooky
yes indeed, spooky, yes indeed!!
Steffen Freund anyone?
maybe pav is one of those guys who doesn't grow any bollocks until he gets angry enough. who knows. 'arry's a total cunt though, regardless.
we are jinxed????
no we are incredibly lucky to still have even the slightest chance of finishing higher than 7th after the way we've dropped points in this campaign.
Is Bale injured / down with the bug too?
