Is it okay for us to release a DVD?

Just putting it out there.

Match report tomorrow, probably, if I find time to come down from the heavens and type up a couple of words although I could probably sum it up in one now:

Bale.

In the mean time, open invite to discuss the game. For the neutrals also, if they want to share their much respected opinions considering they always without fail find the time to visit us on other occasions.

Ooh, I feel a gloat coming on I do do do. Tottenham Hotspur 3 Champions of Europe 1. Chests pumped out people. We did everything right.

Come on you Spurs.

Never a dull f**king moment with this club.

I've got celebrations to be had.

Lots of hugs and kisses to Bale but respect must also go to VDV, Modric (class) Ekotto and Kaboul.

Well done fellas; if I "battered for the other side", I would quite happily go down on you as a way of saying thanks...

It'll doubtless be out first thing, and I'll be buying it. Post hangover of course. COYS!!

"batted" not "battered" ;)

I love you spurs (hic up)

All i'll say is...I have never jumped 2ft off the floor in the pub before (twice)

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:39 PM | Unregistered CommenterJigger

Happy dayz - I think Rafa's decision to put Gilberto in a Maicon shirt could have gone better, at least the muppet sittng on the floor as Bale ran off into the distance sure looked Brazilian. Its never a dull day with the mighty lillywhites and I would not swop it for the world.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:40 PM | Unregistered CommenterHotrod

DVD is already available at the club shop.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:41 PM | Unregistered Commenteralt ctrl del

Please, please, please, please can we reproduce that level of performance each week in the league too? But for now we can just concentrate on enjoying a famous win and congratulations to every player who pulled on the lillywhite shirt on this fateful night.

Terry - good shout - Got to love Modric, I think he's the talisman of this team....everyone rates him and even on a bad day he makes something positive. Lennon was a great foil on the right as well

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:42 PM | Unregistered CommenterHotrod

What a game, the best i've seen our lads play ever!

Bale, VDV, Modrich and Lennon were brilliant!!

That made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :>)

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:42 PM | Unregistered CommenterJahman

over 2 games, with an average of 10.5 men on the pitch against the best team in europe and winning 6-5. i think for the first time i can start singing 'we're by far the greatest team!' without my tongue entirely in my cheek.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:43 PM | Unregistered Commentersorrenti

Don't forget Modrić. He is the king of the midfield today. And he is still not in his best form.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:43 PM | Unregistered Commenter2rB

All the way from Australia - well worth the early, early wake up to watch the game! now i am supposed to go to work when all i want to do is run down every street with nothing but a spurs crest slapped on my chest screaming "Oh when the spurs!" Always a good read spooky, looking forward to your match report.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:47 PM | Unregistered Commenterdavid howells

Was in the Park Lane in 62 against Benfica when we got robbed by a bent referee, tonight was in the Paxton, only a 48 year wait to see a side anywhere near our double side ( It was worth waiting)

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:47 PM | Unregistered CommenterTonyfrank

Modric was bloody brilliant.

Makes you think though doesn't it, if we had a better manager, a world class manager, we might get that level of performance week in week out. Not hating on Harry but you get the feeling this side still has so much more to offer. Really have to step it up in the league now and our confidence might go sky sky high.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:47 PM | Unregistered CommenterEd

Had to sit in the upper west today and I have to say fair play to all the fans there. Atmosphere was brilliant and i have to say I actually quite enjoyed sitting down for a change! What a night. The plaudits in the media will go to Bale but the whole tea was magnificent.

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterFox Mulder

From Spookys pre-match thread:

"Don't be afraid. Don't hold back. Play emotive sweeping football and play too our strengths. Retain possession, do not concede early, hassle them in midfield and please for the love of all things Lilywhite - be clinical in and around the box. The home crowd will have to play their part in all this too"

"I've not forgotten about Luka. Much like Tottenham this season, we await his arrival"

On the money Spooks, on the money.

Agree re the heroes, and want to add: Solid from Cudducini (needed that) and the ex-Arse man (now forgiven by me) but also BAE was excellent. I LOVE Modric - non-stop ...... wasn't Arse Wanker so right that he was too weak for the Premier!!!!

Nov 2, 2010 at 10:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterTommyHarmer

Rafa Benitez post-game on Bale & Maicon:

“It’s true that Bale had a lot of space tonight and we couldn’t stop him, but people are too critical of Maicon. He had problems when defending tonight, but in attack he’s always great.”

I lol'd.

Supporting Spurs for some 45years, tonight ranks with the best nights ever!!!!!!!

We have finally arrived...............

Bale. It can't be long now before he's the one on the front of the new FIFA/PES game ;-)

Bloody fantastic, each and every one of them.

That is why we are Tottenham Hotspur supporters, frustrating at times but can elevate us to heights of ecstatsy that touches all our souls.

Just got back home from the Lane and still dizzy from what I witnessed tonight as a season ticket holder for nearly 40 years. Poured myself a well earned dose of Smiroff with the orange stuff I'm told is one of my 5 for the day and suddenly had a flashback to Harry's comments a few days ago that we need a top 4 finish in the Premiership, or we have got to win at Wembley in May to qualify next season. After tonight loosing the magic of the CL would be like my doctor telling me that I can't have a Rizla stuffed with a large dose of green stuff as the 2nd of my 5 for the day.
So I suddenly thought of an early start up the M6 on Saturday and Owen Coyle plotting to bring us down with a bump. That's age for you, pleasure never lasts as long as it used to. In all seriousness we need 3 points at the Reebok just after breakfast on Saturday as 15 points looks like only getting us mid table by the end of the next round of games. Being even gloomier (who said the green stuff won't make you paranoid) we need to secure at least another 2 points against Bremen and Twente to look forward to February
Please Harry and the boys, don't let me down like my doctor does everytime I can get an appointment. I want the fun to last

It's been like a stock market since the pre-season revolution in 2004, we've had up's and downs along the way, Santini, Jol, Ramos and now Redknapp, despite some of the low's its been a gradual process of improvement.

We started to make some profits on trades.

And then the Chelsea hoodoo was vanquished in the league.

Good league seasons, followed by Lasagne gate but UEFA cup football.

Time still to sack a manager, but win the Carling Cup, sell our star player for a club record.

Flirt with relegation, sack another manager.

And then, to turn it around. Chelsea and Arsenal in a week to secure 4th place in the league and the promised land.

And typical Tottenham, once there they put us through the mill against Young Boys, then find our feet v's Bremmen and Twente. next up Inter Milan at the San Siro and 4-0 down at half time and a magnificent comeback for a beautiful defeat.

And then there is tonight.

Spurs 3
European Champions 1

Not a fluke.

Not Inter taking their foot off the gas

Just Spurs dominating virtually throughout, we didn't even really ride our luck, Inter did, they could have conceded more had Crouch been more on target.

Look at the above, is it an exaggeration when you put it in context to say the best win since the Premiership era began?

I don't think so. Tonight was our coming of age.

The sleeping giant woke up.

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:15 PM | Unregistered CommenterGino-Ginelli

Wow. Fucking fantastic.

One weak link however: Hutton. Liability.

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:27 PM | Unregistered CommenterI'dTurnGayForBale

Though the ref was excellent. Only 5 free kicks in the whole of the first half. Amazing night at the Lane. I thought Ginola was great, but then Bale came along.

Nani got a groin strain tonight - shame. Probably delayed reaction from fucking Clattenburg up the arse.

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:30 PM | Unregistered CommenterBig Fish

Did none of you see that wild shot of Bale's in the first half when he had better options?? Outrageous. Get rid...

ps I'm allowed to speak ill of Gareth as we are lovers.

"Wait til you lose in the qualifier."
"Wait til you get thumped in the group stage."
"Wait til you get trounced by the Champions."

And we are still waiting!!!!!!

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:39 PM | Unregistered CommenterNemmy

second choice goalkeeper, second choice centre backs, no Defoe, vdv off injured yet still......3-1 against the European champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and did you see rafa and the beasts interview afterwards???? Priceless!!!!

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterM-D

The team was immense tonight and although certain players will deservedly get the plaudits I want to draw attention to Cudicini. Some great saves there when required.

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:46 PM | Unregistered CommenterMark

no need to sell bale cause every russian or arab billionaire will be begging to buy the club. that was simply football at its purest, no diving cheating player in red. no retard cunttingberg or webb. this is why we love football

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:52 PM | Unregistered CommenterEPLwilleatitself

Spurs were just fantastic this evening, we just beat the worlds best team!!! Amazing. Bale proved he is the best left winger in the world. The boys did us proud this evening, best performance I've ever seen from Spurs. Everyone had a great game, Kaboul and Gallas were great at the back, Modric, Lennon, Ekotto, every damn player and sub played so well. I hope Vaart is okay, he us such a class act. Get this form going in the league and it will be dreamland all the time.

Well done Harry, you're a legend. YES!

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:52 PM | Unregistered CommenterRick

Jeeze !!!!!!!

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:54 PM | Unregistered CommenterRamses

The crossing from Bale was some of the best passing you could ever wish to see. DVD? You better bloody believe it!

Nov 2, 2010 at 11:56 PM | Unregistered CommenterRick

I've long since given up pre-match predictions with this lot. Who, hand on heart, could really have expected that performance? Who could dare to dream it? What a night.

That.
Just.
Happened.

Yes Bale, yes he's brilliant. I've never seen someone go outside defenders with such ease. But to a man they were all good. Even Gallas.

Harry was on the radio earlier and he sounded choked with pride. I know how he feels. We all do. Finally.
