Is it okay for us to release a DVD?

Just putting it out there.

Match report tomorrow, probably, if I find time to come down from the heavens and type up a couple of words although I could probably sum it up in one now:

Bale.

In the mean time, open invite to discuss the game. For the neutrals also, if they want to share their much respected opinions considering they always without fail find the time to visit us on other occasions.

Ooh, I feel a gloat coming on I do do do. Tottenham Hotspur 3 Champions of Europe 1. Chests pumped out people. We did everything right.

Come on you Spurs.

Never a dull f**king moment with this club.

I've got celebrations to be had.

trific. Best performance i've seen in many years.

Nov 3, 2010 at 2:22 AM | Unregistered Commenterbruce castle

That was simply glorious.

The missus decided to pop into my man room while I was watching the game. Inter scored and I was on edge hoping Inter didn't continue to find their footing. She watched Bale's magnificent run and assist to Pav.

I think she gets it now.

Nov 3, 2010 at 3:22 AM | Unregistered CommenterBig Sky Spur

I have watched that last goal at least ten times. Sublime pass around their CB by Bale and then an inch-perfect pass to Pav. Unbefeckingleivable.

Been waiting for a performance like that. BAE had a great game. Some guy named Bale looked pretty good. Could you imagine if we had Defoe with us? Holy shit, what a fucking match! P.S. Totally fucking Hammered right now....sorry.

Bale played shit. Couldn't even got on the score sheet.

Nov 3, 2010 at 9:26 AM | Registered Commenterspooky

Two reasons why Bale is going NOWHERE:

a) Other than Chelsea & City, no-one in England can afford him. He seems happy to be a fish in a reasonable sized bowl. He's well grounded and Harry said he's low maintenance and just gets on with things.
b) Harry last night - ""I gave him four days off last week because I thought he needed a break and told him to go abroad. He did. He went to Cardiff to his mum's. I don't think he needs to go anywhere else to play his football. He needs to stay here."

He knows what he's suited to!
We play the kind of football that let's him run free.
If he goes to Real, he's going to be in a side that Mourinho manages. That means he'll be asked to stay back instead of going forward.
It's the same if he goes to Italy.

Nov 3, 2010 at 10:47 AM | Unregistered CommenterSheffSpur

Amazing night. Very thrilled.

1) Did you see how Modric sold a dummy and passed clean through their centre of defence?

2) Hutton needs to develop a better understanding with Gallas and with Lennon. Otherwise Lennon is wasted.

3) Jenas is still crap. Why still no Kranjcar when VDV or Lennon went off?

4) Cudicini is improving. We still have no clean sheet. Did our defence remain unchanged for the first time? BAE, Kaboul, Gallas and Hutton?

5) We got lucky. Rafa Benitez is arrogant and didnt see the need to double team on Bale even after his performance in the first leg. Sir Alex and David Moyes certainly didnt think so, and effectively nullified him.

6) Crouch has the potential to work a devasting partnership with VDV, but they must develop a better understanding. Perhaps his GF should bond more often with Mrs VDV.

7) Overall I would like to think our team enjoyed taking on the cream of Europe. I'd like to think it's games like these that convince them Spurs is the place to be. I do hope that players like Bale, Lennon, Huddlestone, Modric realise the opportunity given to them by playing for Spurs. And would deter players who think like Berbatov.

What a night what a f**king night. This is why we support the mighty whites. Did I even hear Andy Gray supporting us last night? Maybe we are becoming one of B4? For me though it was Ruud Gullits comments saying that this is how football is meant to be played. We took on the Champions at football not some defensive stifling game and in fairness to Inter they came to play also. Gullit said that the rest of Europe will sit up and take notice now. Not only did we do it but by God we did it the Tottenham way. Bill Nick would have been proud of that display, well done to Harry and the boys. What a night....Im still pumped What a glorious glory glory night. We have to have this every season now pleeeeeease

I really dont know what to say exactly.

I'm still slightly stunned. I have never seen a player like bale...except maybe Cafu....fuck me how fit is this lad.

He's going nowhere except skywards with us....jeez I hope we can push on from this and deliver performances in the league against the teams we should be beating as a matter of routine. We all know we will 8/10 times deliver against the big 3 at the lane but rolling over teams like bolton and getting the result sorted early in the 90 is what we must lean to do.

Pressure and expectation levels for the whole team and Bale have just shot through the roof. Coyle will double team Bale and we'll get the usual assault type defending on sat. This happens to the others too but deal with it and get the desired result most of the time.

I'm stoked ... had a meeting this morning but cant wait to get into the office in the PM to hear what the Arse fans have to say. Remarkably I got no texts last night from them just 1 from a pool fan biggin us up.

Thanks to the Chelsea fan on here...nice words....hope you have a great season too...finishing in the top 2 (us above you....tom stop...dont be getting carried away!!)

Wow

You have to give credit to Arry, in the modern game of two holding midfielders etc he certainly does play the Spurs way...

Interesting to go over what he said before the game:

Redknapp is such a headline-machine these days that some will have suspected his rumination on team selection was for dramatic effect. It repays a second listen. "There is a feeling that attack is the best form of defence for us. We are an open team and I don't have any option other than to pick an attacking midfield," he said. "I have nothing but attacking players.
"I could leave [Rafael]Van der Vaart out and play with three central midfielders and be strong in there but I would not do that. This is the way I have developed the squad. We have a go. What do you do with a Modric? How do I leave him out to go and put someone bigger and stronger in there? Or how do I leave Van der Vaart out? It might make it a wild ride for everybody but we are at home."

You have to say, theren’t many teams playing such quality attacking football and beating the European Champs around are there.

Nov 3, 2010 at 1:03 PM | Unregistered Commenterarmstrongs-nose-mole

I remember when all the Spurs boards were jam packed with posters explaining in detail how Harry was a small time manager who was tactically naive and could not take us to the next level. Not just one or two. There used to be so many of them. All the time. On every Spurs board. Whatever happened to all those posters? Should we send out a search party?

Nov 3, 2010 at 1:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterNed

also from the Guardian,,very goood..

Bale is playing himself into the firmament. Speed, skill and audacity aside, the most flattering reflection on him is that he has produced his two best career performances against the No1 side in Europe.

There will be days when Redknapp's vision works against him, when the rear of his team is exposed, as it was by Samuel Eto'o, who scored Inter's only goal. But Redknapp's way is surely the right one, the life-enriching way.

Bale is its purest expression.

Well, the fact they try and compare his goals to games ratio with Ronaldo & Messi says it all.
Completely different types of players......

Un-bale-eviable
Bale n' Pace

Any more?

My Mrs actually asked me to tone it down because I was scaring the neighbours with my joyous screaming at the telly last night. Dopey mare.

Last night shows why I am Spurs through and through. And it's also why I got Modric on the back of my Champs League shirt (just in time for the game).
