Vieira? Again? Harry is scaring me
Read this first. Ok, so let's summarise:
- We are "short" in midfield
- Lack of options are "scary"
- Three CM's are not enough
- O'Hara likely to return on Jan
- Interest in Patrick Vieira was "genuine"
I can't decide which one scares me the most. I'd say the continued and persistent obsession with Vieira is slightly ahead from the apparent realisation that we are lacking an additional CM. Considering we sold 2, sent 1 on loan and flirted for the entire summer with several targets, you'd think stating the obvious would simply illustrate our failure. Unless this is textbook Harry using ever so subtle kidology to get the best out of the bunch he has.
Reality is we do not need another CM. I know most are expecting Sandro in the new year. New breed Brazilian. Rather than run-down no bite Frenchman. Am I missing something with Vieira? If Harry does rate him and does think he can do a job, then that makes a lot of people - a lot of Spurs fans wrong. He looks spent for Inter and hardly ever plays. And when we all thought this horrific rumour had died a death, Harry goes and mentions his name not long after the former goon is saying how he thinks he can work well with Redknapp. How many days till the window opens? Don't answer that.
As for the rest of Harry's comments about being scared and lacking options...I don't think we need to fret much. It's a small compact unit, sure, we might be shagged if someone like Wilson gets injured but we spent the whole of the summer discussing this and hoping for an understudy to be signed, so lining up excuses doesn't interest me.
Between now and Jan, Hudd and Jenas can go about proving to Harry and us they can do a job - a proper one. And the CM we do look to sign in the new year is one that finally lays this sodding conundrum to rest for good.

Morning. Harry runs out of things to say in interviews thanks to the fact he spends most of his waking life talking his mates in the press. No surprise he's gone full cycle and bringing up PV again. It won't happen. No way. No chance. Never.
No.
According to the Mail the reason Vieira wants to come is that the France coach has told him he has to play regularly in order to go to the world cup, therefore he's coming to Spurs to play every week. Are the people in the Daily Mail really that stupid or they're just taking the piss
Harry's on a wind-up. Distractions, nothing more. Vieira is not even half the player he was and he'll know that along with Levy. I can't see how the player could do any type of job for us in any capacity. It's a pipe dream if he thinks he bag a move to the Lane. We will sign a 20-25 year old. Not an old man.
its a bit of a suprise innit..bein a bit light on for midfielders...blimey what a suprise...would u adam n eve it we aint got another dm....after we lost to man u with the best team we ad at that time and if we lose to chelsea then its obvious we av got a battle on our hands for a top four spot and i noticed we av been in the media banging on about our new training ground and the need to develop our own players.so why not av livermore, naughton, rose, gio on the bench at some time this season?
We really need a leader on the field. Someone who kicks the asses of those slacking and not chasing a loose ball or putting in that tackle. The absence of Gio continues to baffle. Surely he will be a better option on the left than Keane?
Its all a bit of shambles. We needed a CM and we didn't sign one so I can only assume we want a certain type of CM that wasn't available. The Sandro link is an obvious one and its likely to happen. So Harry is just doing his usual media banter trick, trying to downplay our chances. We'll be fine till the New Year ,and stronger after the window closes.
No Spurs fan wants Viera at the club, Harry knows that, and is just using the situation to put the wind up Levy to ensure that funds are available in January to get a player he really wants and we really need.
I hope.
Sending O'Hara on loan to Portsmouth was surely so that Harry could continue his obsession with re-signing ex-Tottenham Pompey players, but this time with minimal cost.
All part of harry's manipulation of his poodle Levy. He knows we need another quality CM - but then so do most teams in the Prem. Levy's probably got the money but the right man was not available in the window.
Time for JJ and Hud to step up - but we've said that so many times before.
