Spurs at home first game of the season?

Arsenal? Playing away from home? On the opening day of the season? Are you mad? The FA would never allow that.

Apparently they would according to a Sky Sports News slip-up as seen in the above screencapture. Considering the fixture list isn't meant to be out yet it makes me think it's a fake. Unless Sky are privy to this sort of thing before the official release. Ooh.

If this is/was geninue, I trust the FA will fix it up. Probably give us the above fixture list.

Two points six games anyone?

Update: Bank Holiday dates are wrong based on the proposed programme of games the Prem League has lined-up, so this is not real. But don't fret. The ITK fraternity claim the scum are away to Everton and we do play at home....against West Ham United. Some of that please.

If that's really their fixture list they'll get 7 points from that lot.

I make it seven too. Relegation form.

That has got to be a test card or whatever, fixture list not out till later this week. And the FA never give us a home game opening day. God forbid we start the season with 3 points. If we got give a home game reckon it would be someone like Man Utd at home.

Is this for real??? Sky Sports have been naughty naughty! I hope tis true! Arsenal away mean we be at home...? GET IN!

Spooky, I've already seen this on a few boards. No doubting it was shown by Sky, by mistake, but surely its just them randomly testing the software or whatever that will display the list rather than actually knowing what the list is. Two days early. Still, bout time we had a poxy home fixture first day.

I'll cry if it's a 3pm Saturday kick-off. I will cry like an orphan on Christmas Day opening up his present and finding two parents smiling back at him.

This is not a wind up. Spurs will play West Ham at home. The scum will play Everton away. 100% true people.

Don't believe the hype. No chance we start with a home game.

Hey Terry. Yep, one or two people have echoed what you've said. How will West Ham fans take it? A cup final for them in the summer/pre-season and another one to kick-off their season. It's like '66 all over again.

Hello Spooky,

Not sure whether this is true or not but to be honest, I don't care either. Home or away, I think we will be bouyant next season and start as we mean to go on (none of this 2 from 8 nonsense!).

I just thought i'd say well done with the blog and thank you for being entertaining, articulate and interesting. A truly rare thing in this electronically submerged world we live in.

It can't be right. The Premier League had announced that there will a be double programme of matches on ban k holiday weekend Aug 29 and 31. August 31 is missing, so it can;t be real.

West Ham at home? Crikey. Bound to be on Sky then so you can kiss goodbye any 3 pm kick offs.

Someone did a boo boo and hit the wrong button but that fixture list is NOT REAL. From the horses mouth.

GotThemNotStir , steady on mate. We had high hopes last season and looked where that got us. We need to be steady and workman like and greedy in the opening 3/4 games. Avoid defeat even if we play like shit. Then push on from there. No fancy dan hyped up bullshit please like last year.

Yes I would say this is got to be a 12.45 kick off. With the police issue.

Jun 15, 2009 at 10:53 PM | Unregistered Commenterterry yid

to some who have posted above, we ain't playing west ham on the first day, allegedly it's the arse, but because they're away we play at home that weekend. please read the post again and look at the right hand top of the tv. hope it's true though because it confirms that the fixture list is a stitch up

jayski could be correct. All I will say is I'm convinced we will play the hammers. Will get back to you on the 17th.

The list might be one of the early lists drawn up for the season ahead.

Teams, the police, transport authorities and other groups are all given a chance to make their requests an a big matrix is drawn up for who plays when.

Spurs and ar5ena1 never play at home on the same day for example, because the police request it. Likewise Norwich and Ipswich for transport reasons.

So this might be a preliminary list before final changes. It is unlikely to be the final list.

However, big changes are rare, and if this is a preliminary list it would take quite some effort to change home and away games around at such a late stage.

So it might soon be five home starts for spurs in the premier league era.

I thought the season starts early this year aug 8th because of the world cup.
