The Sky is falling in on us...
Perspective. MIA. Let's try and claw some back.
It's ok for the likes of Liverpool (that's Liverpool as in 'Top 4 Sky Sports Top 4' Liverpool) to have key players out and suffer for it and have the 'experts' talk about how their missing players are detrimental to the effort on the pitch, but its not ok for lickle Spurs to be missing 3+ key players? Because whether we have players out or not, when we lose, its cemented evidence that we are nothing more than pretenders.
I'm drying them as I type.
Not using this as an excuse because our general performance and body language was a joke v Arsenal and we deserved the drubbing we got, but let's not try to under-play the facts post-match. Even if its a tad hypocritical.
No midfield equates to wave upon wave of invited pressure that will surely end in tears. Which proved to be the case. It was Hackney Marshesque effort at best.
We know we do not have the same level of quality in key areas as certain other clubs possess. Our best first 11? That's altogether a different prospect, and we've yet to field them all at once this season. But that's neither here or there because most teams have injuries at any given time and do fine without a perfect starting eleven. But you can't ignore the fact that as well as we've played this season, there has been an oh so subtle decline since Modric got himself a broken bone. And it finally all caved in over the weekend.
I also don't agree that our bench is 'strong'. On paper it is, but the likes of Pav and Bentley are not exactly storming it form wise at the minute. Does that make us one-dimensional and single player-reliant? In some ways yes, but we are more then competitive against the majority of the Prem other than those pesky hard nuts at the top even when missing the likes of Defoe or Lennon or Modric. It's just that with them, we tick. Without them we might get tonked.
We don't have a complete squad to challenge for a Top 3 place. We all know that.
Go back 4/5 years and perhaps further back still and the top 4 were so far ahead of the chasing pack that it was akin to comparing the sexual prowess of a snail with Peter North (although granted the snail has far more personality). It was different gravy, in a different league. The power has shifted from Utd/Arsenal to Utd/Chelsea and may well shift again to Chelsea/Utd. But they are no longer in a galaxy far far away. Half a million light years at the very least.
The fact is - that massive massive gap is not so massive. Not if you look with your own eyes rather than a set belonging to one of the tabloids or our friends over at Sky. I'm under no illusions (delusions). Only Utd and Chelsea can seriously wish to win the league and Arsenal and Liverpool are always going to be outside challengers. But much like we and others below them hope for one of them to trip up, they too hope that either Utd or Chelsea hiccup. Nothing is therefore...impossible.
Dare I say the gap between Utd/Chelsea and Arsenal/Liverpool is as wide as the one between us and that 4th spot? Ooh matron. Note how I said '4th spot' rather than single out a particular team.
But that gap is sadly still wide enough for the likes of us to fall in when attempting to get across it. Serves us right always attempting to jump across in the hope we sprout wings. But unlike the past where there was no bridge, one is now under construction. No need for any Superman impersonations. Just patiently walk across it, aiding with the finishing touches to the path leading across to the other side.
We got it all wrong on Saturday, Arsenal never had to step up a gear. Anyone watching the coverage on Sky would think they dished out a master-class in total football. Once their giddy fans - who only ever show true emotion twice per season - come back down from their ketamine high they'll notice that the win was not half as impressive as they would wish it to be and nowhere near the devastation that Andy Gray and his drooling mouth would have us believe.
It was easy for them made easier by some textbook sleep-walking from our midfield and implosion from our abused defence. We had nothing on offer in the centre of the pitch. But let's not pretend slice bread was re-invented slap bang in the middle of the Emirates. Or that Spurs have regressed back to a side managed by Christian Gross. We got spanked for our lack of effort.
Before any gooners start gobbing off, don't think for a second I'm trying to deny you the glory. It's a NLD. No one would wish to write one-off or dismiss it's importance. You lot turned up for it. Our lot didn't. That grates me because I know deep down you'd have preferred to have contested an actual proper game of blood and thunder rather than the whimper you got. I'd rather lose with effort than without it. And don't think I wouldn't have us in your position either. Plenty of flair but lacking title winning discipline and desperately requiring the bulk of a Vieira in the middle (just not the Vieira who nowadays is more black and white tv than High Definition). I'd love it if we were the 3rd best side in the country. Hold onto that as tightly as possible. Mortality is within smelling distance. But you're fine for a CL spot to help out with those hefty loan repayments. And that's what its all about. Surviving relegation into the dreaded 5th spot. I wouldn't mind your problems at all.
And back to the NLD again. I mentioned two blogs ago about how I hoped we wouldn't fail to turn up. Oh the hilarity. I guess lacking mental strength is not a surprise considering its 60+ games since we won away at one of the nations untouchable Elitists. And quite possibly lost in all the fanfare that has proceeded the game are Harry Redknapp's comments that we can still grab a Top 4 place. He's dressing the facts up again a little (challenge is more like it rather than grabbing), but I completely agree with his sentiments. Why should we write off our chances? It's just a shame he got all the pre-match talk fuzzed.
The fallacy is simply this: We are not good enough to compete away from home against the seasoned CL teams. But unlike seasons past, that doesn't mean we are not good enough to compete for 4th. Contradiction? Yes. Well no. Apart from the Stoke upset, we are showing good form. It's been lacking something extra since Modric's injury but he along with others will be back shortly. Our form is nowhere near being tagged world class but then world class is not something that the Prem is a buzz with - other than the CL sides - and you don't need to have that quality in abundance to fight for fourth. At least not in the way others would have you believe.
Teams right at the top are susceptible to defeats, more so than the standard average deficit, which will make this season more open than the last. It's a trend that started up a few years back and it's continuing. And far too often (for Sky Sports liking), one of the untouchables shows signs of weakness. Obviously, you might argue that if they lose more, the teams outside the Top 4 will also lose as many. And in the end, it all levels out. Maybe. Perhaps. We'll see.
Villa, Everton, City of course and even Sunderland should be looking at that 4th spot then looking across to Liverpool and then rubbing their hands. Not that the Anfield team should be dismissed just yet. But once more I refer you back to the fallacy. Why should anyone outside the cartel not want to aim for it? Bit pointless if we don't. And I stand by comments from past weeks that we should be beating the rest rather than being obsessed with the best.
Another side note to all the knee-jerkers crying about our performance, lets remember - we are still up there. And if the previous 10 games had us crowing with hope, why the sudden doom and gloom? It's 90 minutes gone forever and there are 27 games left. Absolute melters all over the shop at the minute balling their eyes out over the apparent demise of Ledley King and how half the team should be sold on the back of 90 disappointing minutes. Yeah let's do it. Let's get rid of Palacios and try and get Zokora back. Because you know, on current form Wilson is apparently on the same headless chicken level that Zoko was. Baby Jesus is weeping again.
It was a bad day at the office. And I was probably not alone in wishing for some of that tenacity that Jamie O'Hara would have had in abundance for us had he played. Which more or less sums it all up.
And as for Mr Andy Gray. Is there a bigger tit on tv than this absolute douche-bag of a commentator? Him and Richard Keys, every Saturday and Sunday re-write reality as they purge anything that might upset the kings in their thrones by spouting ambiguous nonsense and daft propaganda.
Gray: "Lee Harvey Oswald is the lone gun man. There's no way there's a man on the grassy knoll interfering with play. Look, if I move the motorcade further forward at the precise moment the President is hit, you'll notice the trajectory is, well, it's impossible coming from this direction over here at Dealy Plaza. However, watch the movement of Kennedy. It's a nailed on shot from the school book depositary. It's a wonderful set-piece."
Keys: "Does he have the right to have a go from there?"
Gray: "Why not Richard? Why not? You have to take a risk in this game and he took it. Alone. And if I just show you it from this angle you'll notice what a cracking effort it was from that distance. I don't say it often but take a bow son, take a bow..."
Keys: "Zapruder might beg to differ"
Gray: (laughs) "He was in an off-side position and the Warren Commission agree with me"
Keys: "That's settled then"
Our away record (best in the Prem prior to Saturdays decimation) was dismissed by The Gray because we've only actually played one decent team away from home (Chelsea) and lost that. And yet the analytical logic presented in the debunking of Spurs was not applied when Arsenal's impressive home record was mentioned. You know, cause, Arsenal have had a really really tricky set of games at home thus far this season. Because beating the type of sides they beat at home isn't comparable to us beating sides of similar ilk away. Unless it's them playing away and them beating the same sides. And let's all forget about how defeats away against Utd and City don't matter any more because they've beaten the mighty mighty Spurs 3-0.
Football. Love it.
And I'm just fine supporting a pretender.

bastard bowyer fucked our season
I love your rants. Keep up the good work solider.
Holy shit Spooky. That Andy Gray/Richard Keys/JFK stint had me coughing up coffee I didn't even have in my mouth !
Defence has shipped 17 goals, this needs looking at. If we lose Lennon and Modric the reserves are obviously not good enough. JJ and Hud need to be sold and replaced. Harry needs time to turn Spurs into a real force.
We have to be patient. Goes to show what a good job Jol did. Keano should have kept his mouth shout, once we start to win games away at the top four then maybe we make such comments. Tarrabt must be brought back from QPR, he is a star in the making. Surely he could be given at least some time on the pitch.
Bassong is now out for five weeks and Modric doesn't return until late Nov. We need to buy a centre half and another central midfielder asap.
Robbie shouldn't have made that claim because it was poppycock. Spooky you are quite right. Our top 11 which we've seen all too rarely this season is pure class. We can and will get it right. Stoke and Scum losses were a mere hiccup which, hopefully we will learn from. Rick is also right about the need for patience as we restructure. Onward and upward!
Lets face it we will struggle for a top 6 place let alone the top 4 our midfield options are poor jenas and hudd are not good enough for a top 6 side and can someone please tell me when golden boy keane last had a good game.
Four bad days at the office this season say it all 3-0 3-1 3-0 and one nil at home to Stoke!
11 games in. Perspective ? That's all you need.
I'm not looking forward to Bent playing against our defence this weekend!!! You know he will score! No Jones though.....
I understand that our first 11 is very good but Spurs never seem to be able to field the same 11, over the years we have always had more than our fair share of injuries and retirements!. That's why we need to build a stronger squad which Harry WILL do. We can't rely on key players not missing games.
Shame we didn't buy Vermaelen.
its how we do against everyone else that will determine how we do, not the away games against the current sky 4. Didnt man u win only one of those games last year yet won the league!Losing against the scum is never good esp when we play like that but lets keep some perspective , get our players back and keep going. Quality article though and totally acurate regarding Gray etc
We have a major problem with the centre back partnership. I think this is the first area Harry will try and sort out.
We all know he wanted another midfielder, (Barry, Vieria) Whether he can get a couple of players in these key positions remains to be seen. The Jan transfer window is hard to get hold of players. O'hara and Tarrabt returning should happen though.....with a few maybe out the door.
Enjoyed your lament Spooky, was expecting a defeat but not in this fashion. When I see how Birmingam got at Man City I cannot fail to understand why our lames ducks can't do the same. Doesn't 'Arry drill this into them in the dressing room? Doesn't he and his gang of helpers make it absolutely clear that this game above all has to be played with passion, vigour, endeavour and unbending intent ? Jol had it absolutely right, when you play for the Spurs you must be prepared to die on the pitch in the cause. Saturday's game was a farce and shameful as we turned up for the battle but stayed put in the trenches. I'm beginning te feel that after the Stoke fiasco and the lesson we received at the Emirates the bubble has now burst.
Fair point, we walked out with our heads down for the start of the second half and showed very little fight. I'm sure Harry and Kevin did everything they could to motivate the team. You can see Harry has the passion. Though the players need to do the rest. One player who would have worked harder for the team is O'hara.
I still maintain it was just bad luck against Stoke.
Its been a gradual progress in the wrong direction, getting through games with moments, but still we've shown grit. How many times do the likes of Utd play crap and win and get positives thrown at them from all directions? Let's not be too fickle here. Something did go wrong and has gone wrong each time we've played one of the big four apart from the win over Liverpool. But under Jol we were far less of a side other than that one season. Harry, IMO, has a better team. Just needs re-tuning and I agree - we need the likes of Modric and Defoe back in the side.
JD owes us big time. Modric may well not have an impact until near Xmas.
lol @ people stating JJ and THud should be sold and we need to buy replacements ASAP. Firstly there's the transfer window and secondly it's the fans that jump up and down claiming "sack the manager", "sell the players" every time we lose that give up spurs fans a bad name.
There's never a sensible fan that rings up Talk Sport or 606 to discuss our latest defeat / win / draw / whatever. It's always the same idiots who really should be supporting the woolwich or Manure with their retarded views.
As spooky says, we're a challenging side who are going to suffer defeats and are going to play badly at times. We're a team that WILL miss 3 of the best players in the EPL. Live with it.
We are NOT a team that deserves to win a game because we think we're better than the opposition or because it's about time we did. We're still up there and still challenging. If Liverpool fans can still believe they can win the league then why can't some spurs fans keep the faith a little longer?
Time for king to retire I think. He has been poor on many occasions this year. He relied heavily on his power and pace before, they have both now deserted him. No training, No games, simple. hudd, Bentley & jenas should be out of the door asap, Arsenal's foriegn legion showed 10 times more passion than these wasters. Crouchie done well considering he had "captain marvel" alongside him! Pav looked neat and tidy and linked up with Crouch pretty well, Corluka and Bassong gave 110% as did Palacios. But Harry, why O Why did Krancjer not start on the left to ad balance? Any team losing their 3 best players will struggle, but squad players at other teams seem revved up when given the chance, our "English" players seem happy to just turn up and pick up their cheque. I thought we were trying to get away from the Old tottenham of the last 10 years!
No matter how many times it's said, it's not easy cracking the Top 4. We don't have the luxury of retaining players for long periods of times. This is not because we are a bad club or 'shit' but because the EPL is set up in such a way that the top 4 sat alone and are able to pluck the players from below. We are in the same boat as the other sides Spooky mentioned. Everyone strives to be better. The good news is, we are. So are City and Villa and one or two others. The good news is that the top 4 are not getting stronger. They have stagnated a little. And it doesn't take much for one or two of them to falter. Liverpool and Rafa have a major problem at the moment and it would be stupid for us not to dig deep and make something of it.
These two defeats may well be the kick up the arse (sorry) we needed.
Ironically, my article for the Two Halves newspaper (which I still haven't seen) was about what a legend King is.
I jinxed it.
We need to stop conceding so many goals though, give us two decent centre backs playing regularly and that would make a massive difference.
It keeps chopping and changing because of the injuries at the back. Big problem, needs sorting.
Not sure what will happen with the King contract maybe pay as you play. I'm sure Harry will buy another centre half come Jan if he can.
Back in for Upson? But isn't he another injury prone defender?
I wish there were 6/7 clubs vying for the title. Now that would be GREAT. Not sure how Sky would manage their Grand Slam Sundays.
Good 'rant'.
Not a good day.
First half performance was competent until the implosion.
I agree, every single time we get a bad result (or even half-decent draw, ala Bolton) it is paraded around the media of 'proof' that our 'bubble has burst' and we are mere 'pretenders' to the Top 4.
Still in fifth place.
Very disappointed, but...COYS
Yeah and the teams who beat us did so brilliantly, that begs the questions that if we are so bad why all the bragging?

Classic
keeping the crap aside, the truth is we r still not good enuf or anywhere close to arsenal scums and keano mouth-running didnt helped either ,we were lucky not to b thrased 6-0 and one thing i should clear is that if we want really to break into top 4 ever we needa real real world class midfielder bcoz look at chelsea - lampard, liverfool - gerrard,ar5ena1 - fabregas manu -combination of giggs and scholes for years and what we have modric though he is good but he can b never put into same level as players mentioned above along with that we really need a all round classy striker look at arsenal -van persie chelsea - drogba, liverfool - torres and manu - rooney and yes our strikers r potent but again none can b mentioned at same level as that of top 4 but not everything is against us bcoz liverfool look a shit team at monent and we should make most of it as city and villa too r at same level as us.
You're as good as your last game. We are shit. Saturday is the day for redemption.
C O Y S
tottenham need to sell sum crap players like jenas and keane why does no one say anything about these two
i have watched every single game live this season and these 2 ruin it for all the players and fans... luk at dumb jenas's arms waving when he gets the ball, he has no clue what to do....... oh and i hate corluka in a few weeks, months ull see why and ekotto has never been good ever.......
i just also realised dat gomes is to flopppy and realy makes me and the tottenham players nervous.... can u imagine playing as a defender for spurs knowing your goaly cant make easy saves
we would have walked through arsenal if we had signed half the players we were linked with pre-season, so roll on january where we are linked with loads of other good players we wont get either. if we think keane, jenas, pav, crouch and bently are gonna compete with arsenal or any teams in the top 4 we are really illuded, as soon as i heard lennon wasnt playing or defoe i knew we were gonna get drummed and keane gobbing off was making me crindge. get huntellar in, get rid of pav hes too slow its not working.
1 new centre half? hahaaha, have you seen us defend really this season? we need a couple of good players to cover king, woodgate is good when fit and dawson is good cover, bassong is ok. we need 2 great centre halves!
lets see if we can sign any players from the bottom 3 clubs to blast us into europe next season lol.
...and i feel sorry for gomes, can you imagine trying to settle into english football with other teams just walking up to you unchallenged every game? he must prey wilson is playing all the time, he is a good keeper, a good defence would prove this!
I have to have a go at Harry for the following reasons: Harry you need to manage the team and not just the first eleven. If you keep leaving out the so called 'fringe' players from games, they are hardly likely to perform at key moments. I feel sorry for the likes of Pav, Gio, Bentley, Bale, Hutton. Team management is about building confidence and letting everyone feel like part of the team. I'm not saying rotate for the sake of rotation, but giving these players the chance now and again would IMO bring out the best in them. Pav shines anytime he plays for Russia, Gio is a superstar in Mexico and yet they struggle to get a place on the bench at Spurs. IMO there's something wrong somewhere.
I can't help but feel that those errors committed at the NLD merely mask a bigger problem - lack of self belief - typified by Harry's post match comments "we held them for 42 minutes" Why should we frigging hold them - we should believe in ourselves enough to go out and smash them - Man U want to go out and smash all comers and so should we with the players and talent we have.
Please, please please, would someone kindly take Harry and Robbie aside and tell them to avoid remarks that would come back to bite them on their backsides. When we win the league, play in the CL consistently, then we can mouth off - until then, just shut up!!!
Very disappointed about all this talk of casting Ledley aside like some broken toy. He's been here since a kid and is Spurs through and through. OK, he might not be at the peak of his powers for obvious and well documented reasons but he deserves a bit more respect than this. He could have "done a Sol" and saturday will be hurting him more than anyone. How many bad games has he had exactly?
As for sacking the entire playing staff... get real. Who's going to improve this squad? Torres? Kaka? Ronaldo? Certainly not Taraabt (booed by frustrated QPR fans before his recent two good games) or Gio (looks good for a decent international team in a very weak qualifying group). It's the constant knee-jerking and chopping and changing of players and managers that destabilizes and undermines this club and prior to our current injury problems Harry was fielding the same eleven every week and getting results. Once Woodgate, Defoe, Lennon and Modders are back we'll be fine, it's just unfortunate that they're all out at the same time and other teams would also struggle (see Liverpool). Until then get behind the boys. This is the best squad we've had for years, hence our lofty league position.
No matter how many times i come on Spurs blogs nobody believes a word i say yet its far nearer the truth than any one of you righting hear.Yes what i say is controversial and something that hurts me to say about a game i love ..But the different s to what my fellow Spurs fans are saying is a million miles away from the truth.both Mr. Levy and Keane are right to say we have a stronger Squad and by saying t not on the Field is also spot on .This is where we differ and is something that shocked me beyond believe when i found this out. There will always be Sportsmen that cheat some of them will be our hero along the way .Like Andrew Aggasi Shocking revelation of cheating and lying about a failed Drugs test. Well if you new the extent of energy abuse in Football would you believe Paddy Kenny accidental bought Cough medicine for a bad chest or Cannavarro Italy's Captain and world cup winner failed is test because of a bee sting .Both of them should get off because they never said they got spiked .Just kidding there . Let me use another sport to explain what has infested itself in to Football . This team play like Arsenal play they blew every one away with speed tackling it was breathtaking that was until two players failed drugs tests for the banned( ENERGY DRUG) Ephedrine needless to say after things slowed down and they won nothing .Then the sentence for these cheats a two year ban no a slap on the wrist and a fine in there defence they both had colds and both got fined and a slap on the wrist. Now Paddy Kenny is appealing is nine month ban and in his defence he is using Cannavaro excuse about a bee sting and the fact that he got of for telling the testers is paper work got lost and would have proved is innocents before he failed is test . What has this got to do with Spurs well yes we are getting beat but can any fan tell me what was in evidence in all our defeats and narrow wins and draws. The one thing that was mentioned by Andy Grey about Birmingham and is used a lot in right ups and comments energy pressing and tempo .One thing is a give away in teams that use this is weight loss and gaunt faces the same intense staring eyes red complexion only in white players this is factual not a races remark it affects blood pressure like whiskey and bitter. And massive energy and high tempo pressing and the worse and most stupid trick chewing gum to stop dry mouth and to prevent mixing energy drinks that can kill with this drug if you overdose with caffeine in energy drinks. .And the sad thing is UK sport who dont want to promote and police SPORT. told me they no but cant catch them because the don't use enough and keep below the radar i kid you not well they caught Kenny but he is not a prem player. So when you slag our team of have a good look for what i have told you all the chewing alone should make you sit up and take notice and when wigan beat chelsea and pompy score 4 against wigan dont be suprised because i am not and you wont find me slagging our players of yes tom is slower than some other midfielder but is speed is normal a lot of others are not its not like we like to think that our league is faster its because OF the FAs no scandal policy its not policed and because a few clubs have friends in high places Barwick Gill Dein Liverpool UTD Arsenal Hudds will prove he is a good player. when this energy abuse stops. Its fear that is fuelling this cheating like rugby league we should stop relegation for three years or at least let the bottom three play the top three in the play off's this would give teams a fairer chance to stay up and not cheat or get into financial dept .and the top four should be like plattini wants only clubs that are not in dept buying players they cant afford. help clean our game up by looking for sine's of abuse .
You a fruit loop DAVSPURS
its all about compensation innit?if u urt yer left arm yer tend 2 use yer right arm more to "COMPENSATE"for avin a weak left arm...so we lost modders and we avent "COMPENSATED" is position in the team...its bleedin obvious we aint got another playmaker like modders....me finks the only2 players we av in attacking midfield who can unlock defences and unsettle teams is gio d s and taraabt...of course lennon is injured but lately as been getting marked out of the game...i fink it would av been interesting to av ad gio and adel on the bench to chuck em on with 20 min to go....
Great analysis. The Arsenal side was average. The Arsenal are praying to stay in the "top 4" to pay their debts. The Spurs are under -represented by the English media. Tottenham are on the up. Vying for 4th. Arsenal only wish to achieve 3rd and haven't near the desire and strength of character as Tottenham to challenge for the title. The Arsenal fans only show up for 2 matches per season. The Arsenal fans will soon see the truth: that the team's performance on October 31, 2009 was barely average...just that Tottenham should have been a little better: would have been a different result. Just a tic, a hiccup. Yup, you've convinced . Great analysis.
Cheers mate. Can you be my editor? We'll save bandwidth together.
oh give it a rest tottenham are a great team you never expected them to give teams a good hideing like they have been doing we spurs get carried away we do have quality around and in our team but lets not forget where we were last season at the same stage , dont take the piss and slate harry he woud love to play in the starting 11 but its past his time , maybe like ledley but who knows we are covering ground and are getting better , we will prove to be a force to be reckeoned with agreed martin jol had tottenham playing wonderul stuff and so does harry at times , but the goals being scored against are utter rubbish they should be allowed wilson (he general) needs a perfect partner , as for lennon ,modric ,defoe , well with them in the team we would not be having this conversation we are a team going places look at when jol was arond 5th placed twice then that bitch leavy gave him the push and brought cunt ramos in what a cunt he is even csk aint good enough for the wanker let alone tottenham , spurs found harry and he mounted a push for europe and tried his best to when us some silver ware and for all his trouble he deserves a medal , harry have faith in harry and he will deliver he dont buy crap players only people that give us another diemension , harry will get us to the promised land of the top four but you have to give him time hes been at the lane for a year and wenger the wanker has been there for a long fucking time and has achived a lot so give the guy a break the team has tried and all be it never turned to spank the gunners or stoke we are playing football dont jeer the players give them confidence the all great otherwise they would not where the shirt and be able to kiss the badge........... my rant is over up the spurs you gunner wankers
Brilliant!
Andy & Keys discussing the grassy knoll incident, my hat is well and truly off,,, well done.
you should all check out "Apres Match" on you tube and look at the pi$$ they take out of sky. the truth is out there.
one of the legendary davspurs posts again , really hard to read on a tuesday morning though ...
Bad day at the office and a few of the typing pool failed to turn up. Roll on Sunderland lets get back on track. And for you lucky sods who can get to the match cheer the lads on for me COYS
I do beleive that now is the time to quietly take Ledley to one side and have a word because if he puts in another shift like that on Saturday I hate to say it but I reckon his playing days are numbered. If you look at each of their goals he had a hand in all of the defensive mistakes. Not switched on for the first goal, missed tackle with the wrong leg for Flabbyass' second and made a royal balls of the third goal!! The proof of the pudding is in the eating I fear.
totally agree with you. do believe we lost the game, they were nothing special, they wouldnt have coped with our 3 players that were missing...i sensed we would be crap all week..bentley was overhyped for one decent performance...corluka for me is the most overated fullback..when lennon is in front of u..i could play there..he is onepaced and never senses danger..why have we payed 7mil and never play knaughton.huddlestone cant play in fast paced games hes only useful at home when theres no running around to do..ITS NOT DOOM AND GLOOM though....i do believe we will go on another run when our top players return...it isnt a blip just a wake up that our bench is strong on paper.....but unfortunately..we play on grass...
And why was Kranjcar not on from the start even in the defeat to St*ke he was a breath of fresh air boundless energy and a bit of creativity which was sadly missed from Sats performance. A long ball up to that beanpole that is Crouch is just a tad predictable we are not a long ball team and never will be!! Leave that to Bolton or Rep Ireland at Italia 90!!!!
