60% majority stake sold - But who is it?

Morning all. Choke on your coco-pops time:

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr al-Qassimi, member of a ruling family in the United Arab Emirates, has bought a majority stake in an unnamed Premier League club.

Sheikh Ahmed, a member of the ruling family Ras al-Khaimah, will be honorary chairman of the club.

Ras al-Khaimah is one of seven members in the UAE federation which also includes key oil producer Abu Dhabi and regional trade and tourism hub Dubai. (WAM news agency)

It's a 60% stake apparently. Honorary chairman means someone else (Levy?) will remain in charge of day to day business. Other reports cite a 'leading Premier club'. Which could mean it's possibly Everton, West Ham or even Fulham. Pompey is the more obvious link being made by others because of their prior attempted dealings.

If this happens, and it turns out to be Spurs I think I might need therapy to recover.

Going down this route is not something I wish for. I'm a little more traditional.

Hostile Takeover?

I've been reading the threads on this message board, with a numb feeling watching the events unfold. I just dont know what to say or what thread im supposed to post in.

This fantastic post by Spooky reminds me of what this club is about.

Spurs fans are not a fickle bunch of tossers as the media would love the world to believe. The events over the past year and actions and runnings of the board has left so many of us bemused and crestfallen as we mourn the loss of what this club once stood for. My love for my football team will always remain strong but it would be near impossible for the average spurs fan not to have the same affection which you held for this club when you first fell in love with it.

Its hard to remind yourselves why we love our club so much at times like these. There certainly isnt much to like about us right now. But this is our club. We are what Tottenham Hotspur football club stand for. I am trying so hard to keep alive the spirit of the Tottenham way but we have had our name and badge dragged through the mud one too many times now.

Spooky I think its time for a hostile takeover by the fans.

Dreamland?

From today's Guardian:

If Tottenham Hotspur's chairman, Daniel Levy, below, names an acceptable price before the week is out the club will be sold. A billionaire investor from the Far East, delivered by the super-agent Pini Zahavi, is in talks. But Spurs fans who want change at the top must hope Levy sets aside his instinct for haggling over a couple of extra million pounds which damagingly delayed the sale of Dimitar Berbatov this summer.

ENIC set to admit defeat? Joe Lewis to wipe his hands clean?

We live in hope. I won't get rid of the domain name though. Will continue to send letters to Levy. Keep him posted with the latest. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

As for any potential new chairman. Buy us three world class defensive midfielders. Just for larks.
