Pav Update

Just how thick is Roman Pavlyuchenko? About £14M worth of thick.

After a hectic Russian domestic season and a sudden move from Moscow to London, Roman at no point since his Spurs debut has looked match-fit. 75% at a stretch. And thanks to Tottenham's dithering and additional alleged agent interference (which meant his Russian team-mate Andrei Arshavin stayed at Zenit rather than paraded around at White Hart lane), he has yet to settle down in London. Like any player from a far-away land, things don't always come together quickly.

Three weeks rest would be the best option, but the player has demanded a second opinion. Basically, he will dismiss the doctors who are paid by the people that pay his wages, and will accept the decision made by the doctors that look after the Russian players.

Ankle ligament trouble, yet he prefers to play. He could quite possibly aggravate the injury further and spend more time out for Spurs. Not that the lack of other striker options is his fault.

As for Guus Hiddink, please do one.

The player, considering his form, should take the oppurtinity to shut the fuck up and rest.

Pav out for three weeks

Down to just the two forwards now. We're doing are very best to make things even more tricky for ourselves.

Bale out for the season

Now the signing of 'old man' Gilberto makes sense. Please no more Chimbonda covering the left-back position. Yes, he looks stable there when called upon, but at times his indecisiveness is far too heart-in-the-mouth-of-Autoba.

Good luck with the recovery Gareth. Looks like the Hutton-King-Woodgate-Bale back four will have to wait a little longer.

One man down, one still MIA.

Berbs Out

2/3 weeks is the apparent timeout Berbatov will have due to injury (groin), compounded with Kaboul (hamstring) being layed-off for up to 4 weeks.

Would appear that Berbatov's injury is an 'old problem', suggesting he has not been fully fit. Off to Germany he goes to to visit a specialist. All we have to wait for now is the possibility for him to be out further because of an op.

Thankfully, Gareth Bale (someone who can take set-pieces) and Young-Pyo Lee (someone who is better than Stalteri/Gardner) are both expected to be back soon. Dawson also is on the road to full recovery.

Praise the lord.

Injury List

Current Injury list:

King
Lennon
Bale
Young-Pyo
Assou-Ekotto

From the official Spurs site:

Ledley had his knee operation after playing for England at the end of the season and is doing well with his rehabilitation and the specialists are very happy with him," reported Martin. "He will still be out for probably another two months but, as with all injuries, it does not serve any real purpose to put a strict timeframe and he has not suffered a setback. We always anticipated Ledley being out for this period of time. We added to the squad with Younes Kaboul and he will provide even greater competition to our defensive ranks.

Seems the lad is always 'out' with knocks and surgery. Not good. Not good at all. Without him there's far too much for Dawson's young shoulders to handle, and can we honestly expect Kaboul to settle in quickly and without concern? Jol has to decide on his best back four and stick with them, even if it takes a few games to get the balance right.

Bale should be back soon. With Pyo and BAE out, seems that our defence doesnt have the depth of cover that our midfield and attack does.

As for Lennon, would be good if whoever takes his place in the first team has a rampant opening 4/5 games making it difficult for him to just walk back in. Time the little squirt fought and fought hard for his position in the starting eleven.

I'm still holding out for another one or two players before the transfer window closes. One of which has to be a defensive player of the Graham Roberts mould.

King Op

It's not unexpected really, is it? King set to miss the start of the season (probably along with Lennon). No confirmed centre-back signing as yet to cover his absence. Rocha, is at best, cover - but we need the type of cover that might need to sit in defence for the best part of the season. Ledley, in recent years, has had far too many prolonged periods out injured. Its far too much of a big risk not to bring in a 'world class' defender. Needed, regardless for added depth. Maybe the Ginger Pele is available on a free?

The surgery on Ledders left knee takes place next week. Its routine (according to the club) so we are not meant to worry too much. Yeah, right. We are Spurs fans ffs. Worrying is what we do.

Lennon

Twisted knee has ruled Lennon out of the England squad and wont take part against Brazil and Estonia. Blessing in disguise. The young lad is burnt out and needs a full summers rest so that he can be fit again to go out on the pull with Huddlestone and the rest of his Bling Squad.
