And so on...
Another day, another ridiculous twist in the Luka Modric saga. This time linking Madrid with a 40 Euro bid for Axel Witsel of Benfica. If there isn't a more blatant piece of transparency in pressuring Levy to say yes to their Luka bid, unless of course you believe we have in fact accepted their bid, one to the tune of £36M which is edging far closer to our valuation of the player.
Confliction!
The Dinamo Zagreb sporting director has revealed it's done and dusted (he'll know because his club is due £2.5M or so from the transfer). Which then pushes the bid back towards the £30M mark and a long way from the £40M. Either way £36M is a win win for us, minus any payments to be made to the club we signed him from. Madrid (Marca) are supposedly saying they've got the better of us. I tend to side with the theory that Levy has a £5M or so buffer - player valued at £40M, will accept £35M. Madrid have been well below that for the best part of the summer. Have they finally just accepted they won't defeat Levy on this and no amount of bluffs will influence the outcome that we want to see played out?
So it's just another day and nobody has a clue what is truly going on. Everyone claims to know but all the rumourwhoring and subjective commentary and guesswork is there to simply fill up our Twitter time-lines via the journalists and reporters that are no different to the message board 'in the know' communities. It's just stuff, fluff to fill the empty space between the present day and the official club statement that will finally end this sorry saga. A paradox because all that empty space currently resembles a padded room rammed with foaming loons accepting their strait-jacket imprisonment.
When will it end? When it ends. How will it end? When a bid is accepted.
That's how simplistic it is. It's a connect-the-dots puzzle, easy enough completed, just needs a pencil. What we've got instead is a dozen or so people throwing paints and crayons at it.
My ultimate wish on all of this? That would be Madrid not really interested in Luka, doing Levy a favour for first refusal on Bale in the future. Let it drag to the depths of deadline day and beyond, leaving Luka anchored to Spurs once more. Probability? 0.1%. But a boy can dream.

Funny how Real are apparently not prepared to pay £36m for an established but still young world class player but are for an average player (who isnt much younger) who has has one decent season. If they are going to make stories up they could at least make them believable!
Yeah this really is getting dull now....Still potentially another month of this, if he hasnt already (definitely definitely) signed for Madrid. Just glad Bale came out and penned a new contract so early on otherwise we'd be having stories about him leaving everyday to contend with too. Just want this over with now. Modric to go and lets replace him or stay. Simples

I'm hoping that it all gets sorted out early this week. 35 million seems OK to me - at least he won't be going to another EPL club. More pleased about Bale staying.
A bit concerned now Chelski have bought Oscar that perhaps Internacional (my Brazilian team over here) will be loath to part with Leandro. However, a plus is that now they have Diego Forlan so perhaps it's not necessarily a non-starter.
Having been a Spurs fan all my life - living in Brazil for the last 5 years - I'd rather Spurs had Leandro than Inter.

I'm torn and just want it resolved one way or the other. If Luka is to stay I'll be happy. I understand why he wants to leave even if he's made a mess of forcing the issue. But if he doesn't manage to engineer a move and we're left with a 80-90% Modric next year, that's still a lot better than anyone we'll get to replace him in my eyes.
If he does leave it'll be for the £35m-ish, which has always been the price. Real say £30m, we say £40m, £35m seems about right. Should be enough to pick up Moutinho for mid twenties and add a chunk to the striker fund, which is the real problem area.
Levy has to set down clear markers and concede as little ground as possible otherwise we weaken our position with all future sales of stars!
So Levy can take as long as he likes and demand whatever he want in my opinion because it is in our short and long term interests.
Just hold your breath guys----- it will get sorted. More focus should be given on why Adams wants to kck the #*!1#@ out of young bale. Once is possibly an accident but twice not so. Is this the new Liverpool? They embraced Suarez as a hero so presumably Adams is now the new King of the Kop. Meanwhile no doubt the FA are still trying to find their tickets for the olympics that they forgot they had.

Just seems inevitable that all the transfer dealings will be taken to the brink as usual. Feel that Modric's refusal to go on the US tour has made his staying impossible. No one of any longterm ability at Madrid seem to want to come to THFC as a makeweight. Don't believe that PSG and Man Utd are interested at the price. Worry that the delay will cause us to miss out on the replacement playmaker,couple of forwards, goalkeeper and winger that we need.
Think its all very worthy giving squad players like Bentley, Jenas, Bassong, Dos Santos another chance but these are players that should be released to lessen the wage bill.
Adebayor seems to have priced himself out of the market - but what is the going rate for a proven EPL forward. Leandro is a reoccuring joke and Hulk and Llorente are out of our league. Moutinho's price seems to be dependant on whatever DL gets for Modric and I'd rather have another year of Brad with Butland on loan than Lloris in goal.
Hope all this Mexican stand-off stuff doesn't leave us looking like a pack of chihuahua's in the title race.

2012, Modric is seen hanging around a playpark with cider drinking undisirables. He challenges everthing, and refers to his mates continuosly. He leaves a foot long turd in the toilet, never makes his bed, walks dog shit up the stairs and forgets to pick his little sister up from school 6 times consecutively, all because he wants to join a commune In Spain.
2013, Modric looks out from a condensation smeared window and waves tentatively to Levy in the garden below. Levy waves back. 'who's that'? says a visiting friend, sipping a lemonade. Removing his sunglasses Levy smiles. - 'it's Luka'. The friend pauses and then looks up once again, squinting - 'why on earth is he inside on a day like this'? Levy, replaces his sunglasses - ' He's chained to a radiator'.
I don't believe this is clasic Levy brinkmanship, Madrid may think it is, but I honestly believe that AVB and Levy want Modric to stay, unless someone rocks up with 40 large, he'll be a Yid for another year yet. The cat that's mentioned in the dead-cat-bounce died of glutonay I'm sure, last seen trying to cough-up a euro congealed furball.

I, at no point agreed with Iver, I just thought about Iver subjectively, and opened up my thinking by offering insight into both Iver and Balkan norms. A Balkan female artist once stood in public after placing several objects on a table beside her. The obects ranged form items of plesure to items of pain, and one, of instant death. She then stood motionless and passively for six hours. While the general public pleasured her, did they fcuk, they torchered the mad cow for 5 hrs. One even drank her blood. Amnesty international state that one of the Balkans main exports is female sex slaves, both adult and children. They doubt that authorities are commited to fighting this inhuman trade. Amnesty also want the Balkans to address its refusal of allowing Gay pride without fear of being attacked.

Yes, this is fascinating, a thread which discusses something which is absent (Iver's words). Reminds me a lot of the current tabloid and Talk Balls journalism about "transfers". As I haven't seen the offending comments, I too, like Zeuso, am keen to have some idea about this apparent raving lunatic.
Guys - you know when you slow down and rubber neck a car crash. See a mangled motorbike and body. Suffice to say to ask to see the content of iver's post would invoke similar regret.
