I was away on hols when the smelly stuff hit the fan, started reading some of our sites and after a solid 4 months of Harry Out on most blogs was amazed that apparently Levy doesn't share the opinion of the blogo-sphere and hasn't sacked him.

Great list from Spooky.

For me the target was CL qualification via the League and but for a fluke, Harry delivered, however disappointing the end to the season. Maybe he should be replaced but for me Levy is the one who needs replacing.

He has presided over 11 years of humiliation and made us a laughing stock over every football issue from the new stadium to managerial selections and firings through to incompetent/incontinent player investments.

This summer has to be his last chance let alone Harry's.

Whatever happens, whoever is in charge or owns our club, we will still support the team and let's face it, after a while humiliation becomes a way of life. If you can't handle it, don't support Spurs.

How about conspiracy theory? How come whenever Bayern got a clear sight on goal they immediately hoofed the ball way over the grandstand? Obviously their prematch training consisted of a diet of Rugby videos?

I´m a chelsea fan and a purist and while I´m obviously over the moon with winning the champions league, I´m not happy with how we did it, we changed our game after AVB left and while it helped us win stuff I don´t like watching us play it. I can´t wait for John Terry to leave as he´s tarnished our club beyond repair. As for our FA cup win over you lot well that phantom goal sure changed things that´s all I´m saying. You´ve had a raw deal this season and you should hold your heads high, I´m sure you´ll come through. Enjoy the Europa League, what else can you do? Hope you win it and show that football can be played and won the right way. Anyway just wanted to show that not all Chelsea fans are unsympathetic to Spurs´s plight, hwoever I´m delighted we did the double this season, it was emotional, just wish we could really say it was totally deserved.

While its all about blame,i think its only fair to point out one person who definitely isn't to blame.....and thats our Yankee Stopper. Brad played out of his skin for 37 out of 38 games....Strange feeling actually having confidence when our keeper comes out to catch the ball..but i think the measure of this guys class was actually made evident in an interview on ESPNs website,in this interview, he actually says that he feels personally responsible for no CL next year,by having a poor game against QPR. Personally, if all of our players had played very well for 37/38 games, we would've won the fricking league....And I also think that pretty much our entire squad/manager owe Brad a massive apology for buggering up what is very probably the only chance this great keeper will ever get to play club football at its very highest level.....
Brad...you are DEFINITELY not to blame after having one crap game......
Rest of squad/Redknapp...you are definitely to blame for the appalling loss of form post January

Spooky - you forgot one person on the list...... the weatherman (B*witched).

I'm so glad I closed my Facebook account on Friday - Saturday night and Sunday would have been pure hell from the Chelsea & Arsenal fans.

When we played Villa we knew there was a 50/50 chance that Chelsea would win the CL final. That was the game to take the bull by the horns and take all 3 points. Instead Harry figured that his fat, gurning nephew and team-mates would have no chance in Munich and that 1 point would be enough. MUG!!!

W1 - You've punched above your weight for sure, shown guts and had plenty of luck. You're not the beast of a club Jose had when he was there, and I'm sure if it was anyone else people would be patting you on the back. I'm happy for you because you seem to be well balanced.

Rumours that Levy not only discussing the fee for Vertonghen, but possibly also bringing Christian Eriksen in same deal. That would definitley hint towards Luka being granted his wish.

May 22, 2012 at 12:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterWalkerboy

I blame the lack of a new stadium. Should've been built years ago. Should've borrowed the money, sucked up the debt and dealt. We'll always be chasers till that's done.

Rosencrantz: [Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are about to be hanged] That's it then, is it? We've done nothing wrong. We didn't harm anybody, did we?

Guildenstern: I can't remember.

Rosencrantz: All right, then. I don't care. I've had enough. To tell you the truth, I'm relieved.

Guildenstern: There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

The Player: Till then.

Was there not a moment - were there not many - during our slump when, presented with a path or a choice, individuals on our staff could have said no? Redknapp could have said no to England, Levy to both, Modric to indifference, Bale to personal glory? Each could have changed his own course and, in so doing, the course of others - and, ultimately, ours.

Do we want to be swept along in the current, subject to the eddies, whirlpools and clinging reeds? Or do we want to be at the source of the river, dictating its flow? We must look to our own failures.

Meantime, hurry up with that new stadium.

Sky -""Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has flown to Amsterdam to try and conclude a deal for Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.

A host of Premier League clubs have been tracking the Belgian international, but he has indicated his preference is to move to White Hart Lane.

He has called on Ajax not to stand in his way and to come to agreement with Spurs, and now talks are on-going - although the two clubs appear to be some way apart in their valuations.""

For the love of all that is holy - PLEASE, buy a player without hassle, grief, snags, problems, arguements, valuation issues....JUST BUY A PLAYER!

Dear Mr. Spooky!
Would you be against it if I translated this brilliant piece into Hungarian and posted it on our highly non-authentic, but nevertheless determined Spurs-blog? (The author and the Fighting Cock forum inspiration would be appropriately noted, of course.) Please let me know whether you give your permission! (Via a comment would be perfect.) Thanks!

Trying not to get my hopes up over the Vertonghen deal.
It's May 22nd...... That means Levy will spend another 3 months & 9 days trying to negotiate the transfer fee!!
He'll also spend so long dealing with that transfer that he'll forget about other potential targets.

why do i forsee a strike force of owen and drogba next season?

May 22, 2012 at 5:15 PM | Unregistered Commenterkoume2

Have to say that my head has been in a spin since Saturday evening (actually it has been all fucked up since February).

All the conspiracy theories (that mostly seem feasible to a fragile mind), the bad luck (obvious), the mismanagement of transfers (HR/Levy), the incompetence (HR), lack of tactical nous (HR), the Court Case (Rosie, and to a lesser degree HR), the FA (see a combination of conspiracy and incompetence).

What to believe. Where to turn. The shrink has informed me it is incurable, and the frequent visits have eroded my assets and cashflow.

But I wonder if it is perhaps something far more sinister. Is it feasible that the Football God/s exist? If they do, surely they emanate from Hell. I mean, what have we ever done to them, and indeed, why do they smile on mongrel dog (apologies canines) clubs like Chelsea. Surely evil spirits of the highest order.

Which brings me to my next point, and no doubt everyone is thinking where the hell are these ramblings headed.

Well, I recall a story some years ago that a Witch Doctor from Kenya was brought to WHL in the 70's to remove a curse previously laid. I am buggered if I can dig up the story and will keep trying, but perhaps some of the older generation might bring some light to this story.

So I am wondering if there is in fact a lingering curse that besets our beloved club - because I'll be fucked if I know how to explain this shit we are going through, and why we have suffered for so long!

Djibril, why don't you return the favour so many spuds want to give us and blow one of them? arsenal aren't in the same league as the mancs or chelsea. We had the same support base and finances as spurs and Newcastle and less than Liverpool. But by being better we rose above them. Better manager, better fans that have helped direct and supprt the club from grass roots. It would be nice to be competing with the billionaires but we can't over-achieve that much whilst still paying off the stadium. Because we are better though, we are paying off a stadium, unlike liverpool and tottenham. Those little twats are somehow still trying to pay off the drawings and models of theirs.

The league over the next few years will split, City are going to keep winning it, Utd will run them close and some seasons Arsenal will be there too, and then the rest will be aiming for 3rd. Spurs with their shit fans and shit policies will never challenge. We have over achieved so much over the last 17 years that even fucking spurs accept they are bad and look up to us as where they want to be. We aren't United but the next most successful club after them that aren't fakes.

If I were levy, i would not have flown back to the UK today without Vertonghen. For once just once, pls do it right, without hassle, without fuss and without others hijacking us -just pay the cash even if its a massive 2 million over the top.

In my head, Modric is gone, bring in mid field player with 12 goals a season in him. The Hud is also on his way back.

Europe Cup -plays the kid, every time every year!! Top 4 is THE aim again next season - do not lose sight, do not lose focus!

May 22, 2012 at 8:36 PM | Unregistered Commenterhotspurs

Good article Spooky very thought provoking, the chairman, the board as well as the manager also have to be accountable for what can only be viewed as a dismal end of season. The club needed to be strenghtened with quality players and they did not do so. We should at least be in a new stadium by now. I accept that money has been made available in the past and Mr Levy runs a tight fiscal ship but we have been crying out for a good striker and central defender for ages therefore it comes as no suprise to me that we seem to be regressing. There are issues at the Club that need to be addressed rather urgently as the alternative to not dealing with them does not even bear thinking about. IMO.

Woolwich are not fakes? LOL.

What is brilliant (truly) is how with each passing year the goal posts are moved to aid the perception being perpetuated by some. Don't get me wrong, we are guilty of it too, but fuck me, gooners are drowning in the bullshit they spin. Are you trying to kid us or yourselves? Don't bother answering.

We don't give a shit.

'What we got here.....is failure to communicate' How can levy and the board be to blame, it's like me blaming my parents for not buying me a Lamborghini on my 17 birthday, thus making me look stupid, in front of my mates from Knightsbridge!

We at spurs are poor, get it!? We are the hard working family that likes to holiday once a year and who's father, Joe, sits in the kitchen with mum constantly talking about tighting belts, while we all sit, crossed legged, watching telly, and eating jelly!

Whereas over in west London pappa Abramovich is busy loading the kids into a helicopter for a short flight to Paris for tea.

Sheikh mansour on the other hand is buying more fcuking players!!
