Smash'em

Not much to share with you in preview for this evenings FA Cup 5th Round replay against Stevenage. Hoping for the following:

- Convincing confidence boosting win

- Plenty of width (unlikely as it's 'weaker' opposition so if Bale plays he'll most likely roam)

- Smiles on faces

Unlike the first game where the pitch looked like it was prepared by Godzilla, I'm hoping our groundsman lays down a field of silk grass, perfectly cut for fast paced tempo driven swashbuckle. Win and it's Bolton at the Lane and win that means everyone gets a semi.

Parker, Bale, van der Vaart all expected to be available. Defoe will most likely start (no Saha). No Ledley. Gallas to return? Curious to see how we handle the right-back position for this one. What with Everton on the weekend. We'll have to wait and see what defines a 'strong side' as predicted by Redknapp in the build up, what with his mix and match efforts sometimes unbalancing the output.

It almost feels like a forgone conclusion so I'm hoping the players don't see it as such (although it would take a monumental effort to balls this one up). Would still like to see us pressure them until they collapse early doors and have this wrapped up before half time so if Harry wishes to rest key players he can do just that.

Here's hoping we smash'em.

COYS.

Sorry to divert the topic, but Sczezzzzzzny is really starting to get on my nerves with his constant anti-Spurs comments. I hope Harry uses them to fire up the troops and then we give it back to him with both barrels

LOL

Because that's all you can really do.

1-0 down, gift of a pen, Dawson off injured.

ALWAYS the hard way.

Rafa needs to get his ass out of our half and into their box.

Mar 7, 2012 at 7:55 PM | Unregistered Commentercoys

Dawson has ruptured ankle ligaments and is out for the season.

Odds on Bale next, 9/1 to go off injured.

By the way, why did we not shout about the foul on dawson. Player went inot him without any chance of getting the ball, of course we never f##ing complain do we!!! Harrys bpys never complain, might damage his image!!

Pls all come on here and tell me we do not have a problem!. We look disjointed, dis-interested and a complete mess!! I cant beleive what i am watching, this is Stevenage got Gods sake! Give me strength, give nme strength!!

Again, i call for a complete review of the capability of the Spurs medical staff. Something is simply not right!!

Its either them or our training techhniques. I cant beleive a 27yr old like VdV cant make 90 minutes, i mean why not, he is not 34, he is not injured, why is he not fit enough to last 90 minutes. Why is Lennon always injured?? Why is Defoe play like a complete wanker. Answers on a post card.

Any idea how many games Messi has missed in the last 5 years?

Mar 7, 2012 at 8:26 PM | Unregistered Commenterhotspurs

Just saw Messis 2nd goal, If Defoe had just one of Messis studs or a hair off his head Defoe may, and i repeat may get into doubke figures.

Phew.

Spooky, very poor! I am really concerned with the run in. I cant beleive how bad we have become!

I look at the defence and it worries me shitless!! We are so exposed, there is so much space in and around the defence and in front of the defence. The gap between defence and mid field when we are defending is huge. Im strating to beleive we need both Parker and Sandro sitting infront of the defence with Modric central. Lennon is out anyway...........

Maybe not smash'em, but we are in the quarters, now let's beat Everton, total support required.

Another great win and how easy did we make that.Ok it was hard as my last sh8 but we made it.At the end of the season when we lift the cup and finish third above that second rate loosers arsenfinger then all the we are playing crap will not matter. How many people remember how well mannure played when they won the premiership for the sixth time.Have a little faith lads and just enjoy the results even if you are bald and have had a tripple by pass by the end of the season. So what if you need a new pair of kaks after every game.We are Spurs and this has always been the way.We are not used to being were we are so feck it enjoy the moment and think how much it hurts the scum we are above them.I expect us to win on Saturday as we always have a good game there .As my wee lad says bring it on.
To Dare Is To Do.

Calm down lads! Back to winning ways. Squad rotation. Gallas back on bench to cancel out Dawson injury. Defoe just short of hat trick with offside goal - two great finishes. Bale hits bar and what a throw in. Lots to take out of this! Nerves calmed back on track.

Mar 7, 2012 at 11:08 PM | Unregistered CommenterGlory

Must be joking. That team tonight had many, many weak links. Parker is playing as though he's injured. Ade wastes to many opportunities. I know he'll get the 'ump on Saturday, but Harry should go with Saha and Defoe. And whoever said Sandro and Parker is right.

Mar 8, 2012 at 12:59 AM | Unregistered Commentercookiebun

Why are so many people saying Bale dived and it wasn't a penalty?!?
Yes, he completely mis-kicked but he was clearly fouled. It's a penalty regardless of whether he was in control of the ball or not.
How many times to players win penalties when they deliberately push the ball too far ahead, knowing a 'keeper will catch them? It happens all the time and no-one moans about that because the 'keeper makes contact.

Viking, Fastnet, FItzROy,Dogger Southeast, veering Southwest gale, 5 or 6

This Chicken LIttle mentality is choking me! FA cup games are always hardwork - the Stevenage hit their ceiling last and played out of their skins. . . Whereas we were mindful of protecting ours for the looming date with Everton! The sky ain't falling in, it's just a bit cloudy. . . With a westerly wind
