The ego's have to take a back seat
Brad Friedel, Wednesday, July 11, 2012
We'll welcome any good addition to the squad. When I first signed here there was no secret that at some stage Tottenham Hotspur would need a long term number one goal keeper. I'm 41 years old. This could be my final season. I'm here and I'm contracted to the football club and I'll do whatever is asked of me. Whether that's a number 1, a number 2, a number 3...I'll do it to the best of my ability. It's easier as you get older to realise it but this is a team sport and the ego's have to take a back seat if you want to be successful
Sharing this quote from pre-season as it's fair to say some people have forgotten all about it. I've seen some supporters on social media discuss how Lloris only started this past weekend because of 'board pressure' along with France playing and how it would cause issues with Andre Villas-Boas if the French number one wasn't involved at club level. So it's unlikely that the coach picks the team based on fixtures and tactics and that the decisions on player selection is conducted by directors and people outside of Spurs that have no influence or direct relationship with the club. Nothing it seems is ever conducted as normal routine, there is always a conspiracy sitting in its shadow.
Stranger than fiction?

Brad Friedel - a true professional.
Brad is showing his humility here and that's what makes him such a likable person. William Gallas has also surprised me with his mentoring of the younger boys. Even Ade looked contented on Sunday. AVB is surprising me and he deserves respect. Why should the media questionthe team he picks. Fuck them.
People have forgotten that quote? People tend to forget a lot of things when it suits them, but then, it's how you create mountains when you only have molehills to work with.
Who cares a donkey's bo**ocks what the media say. Lloris is set to become our permanent No 1 and obviously Brad knew that once Hugo was signed. Brad has earn't his place in the record books and fair play to him. The man is just remarkable to go through 310 games without injury and I feel proud that part of this record was spent with us. I hope he spends the rest of his contract time with us with humanity and dignity that he has always appeared to show, he 's a first class professional, a top man. Hugo Lloris is the way forward and I hope he retains the first team jersey for the rest of the PL season with Brad playing all the cup games.
Is that a dig Johnny?
(get it?)
I think Lloris has it in him to be a fantastic goalkeeper and possibly the best one I've ever personally seen wear the shirt, but I'm a big fan of Friedel. Was a bit wary when he signed because of his age, but to achieve what he has, at the age in which he's done it is, worthy of some applause. He's always struck me as a genuinely decent fellow, and an exemplary professional, like he's just happy to get his head down and get on with it. It's not just a feel-good story either, the man has performed quite well even if his style is a bit limited. I'd like for him to stick around, regardless of his squad status.
I'm more curious about Gomes. I've always thought he did alright, even if he was a total mentalist. I hope they ship him somewhere that can use him.
They are still trying to stir up crap ,it gets on my nerves with these hacks starts of as a small thing and escalates depending on the paper star and sun mainly, and not so much in the mail -express,yet again the words reported from lloris are screwed, about 2 weeks ago against CARLISLE they made a big deal over him not playing, he was ill for f**ks sake but that didn't matter to the Daily Star trying to create divisions between players and manager again, its now 3mths seems like a personnel vendatta to me
Because they were made to look like complete idiots!!! last time with all that crap about upheaval ,player unrest some people WILL believe it thats the problem, and REDCRAPP[fantasy football manager] wont be far behind because they resent LEVY as well ,balls to the lot of them
coys!!!!!!!!!!!
All these conspiracy theorist should stop reading the tabloids, the scum, mirror and daily fail etc and stop listening to talkshite! These so called news sources have a vested interest in sensationalizing any story however mundane and they also have their own petty agendas. If you read or listen to these media outlets then you are the lowest common denominator because that is who there stories are designed to attract, the lowest echelons of society those that cannot think for themselves!
N.B Lloris said that all of the garbage the media stirred up was just that- garbage. Paraphrased and exaggerated for effect there, but he apparently he has/had no issue with how things were going and know's that it'll take a while for him to adjust fully to the prem. I got the quotes from the semi reliable site known as goal.com -
http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/10/08/3436067/lloris-dismisses-reports-of-unrest-after-limited-playing-time-at-
So there you have it, the anti-AVB's are being silenced week by week, which makes me feel all the more smug. If there's a reason outside the usual, of finishing top 4, it's to really tell the cunts to cordially shut the fuck up. AVB revolution COYS!
All through these guys careers they have had to compete to succeed. This is no different.
Friedel also knows that sooner or later he will be phased out of the starting line up. I am sure that if he is unhappy at Spurs he will have no shortage of clubs that would sign him and play him as number one. Not that I wish this, but it's a fact, same as any a majority of our players.
It's a non story. Move on people there's nothing to see here.
Its a non issue !
The media clowns have from the very day AVB was appointed as our new Manager, - tried to stir up problems were none excisted. I think AVB by letting Lloris play in Athens and again on Sunday at The Lane, apart from given him some needed match experience/getting to know his team mates in a match situation, - also at the same time have pre-emtied any bullshit complains from Dechamps and in turn given further fuel to the MediaClowns, during the upcoming International break. From now on, - until Brad retires, - AVB will choose whichever goal keeper is judged by our management team to be best for Spurs, -End of story !
Again all is Sweet and Dandy in The Spurs Camp
Spooky,
Once again I find myself in agreement, last 3 posts spot on.
We have to tunnel through the dirt, and not blindly digest what these worms write, and have 'em for breakfast.
COYS
USA, USA, USA
Stuff some sections of the media and others who continue to be negative towards AVB and the club. The signs for the future are very good, I know the high priestess of Delphi told me. COYS
Had a long chat last night on this subject. If I was a betting man I'd wager that Lloris starts against Chelsea. My thinking: Lloris will have had a run of play with these international games and will get the start, but, no matter what the result, Brad will be back in net for the next PL match. It seems....fair. And it makes sense. Then Spurs will work it out from there, though I think Brad gets all the FA and Cap 1 games while Lloris plays in Europe.
Well put and spot on Spooky .
COY MIGHTY SPURS ( I say that ,because this is our year to win a major trophy. I can feel it in me waterworks ;-) )
