Transfer deadline flatlines for the ITK's
Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 8:57PM Not a good transfer window for the ITK community. Scoring a weak (but average) 2.7/10 for perception skills and actual credible inside information revealed - only commenting on transfer rumours after they broke into the wild. Personal favourite was the bloke who claimed that he couldn't get on-line to tell everyone about the VdV deal before the story broke on SSN. And we were also treated to the classic 'it's going to happen but it might not' explanation. Covering all corners there. Loving how they roll.
Solid stuff. Heads up chaps. Not long now till January.
Before this blog post gets copied and pasted/linked (infidel!) and people claim I'm biting the hand that feeds me, I'm just jesting. Actually, no I'm not. There are people privy to info. And they share their information with some. And it's without excess and ambiguity. Few and far between, is this rare ilk of ITK. If someone truly knows something, they probably wouldn't share it until they knew it was okay to do so without harming their source or the deal itself. We all know how quickly the vultures of the media latch onto these things.
I'm sighing in the direction of the other lot. The ones who lust for attention and adoration. Who won't shut up and seem to be connected with absolutely every single potential possible transfer, incoming and outgoing and also it would seem to be completely in tune with the clubs policy on signing players and the club (and chairman's) ideology.
Pish.

Most ITK's talk shit, i don't even bother reading them. 9/10 it's just people who want to feel like they are somebody.
But the truth is the majority of the ITKs just read the papers and read word it in a way to make it sound like it come from their "source"

So glad all the crazy rubbish has come to a end. And so, so glad to welcome Van Der Vaart to the club. I'm sure he is going to be great player for us. The kind of player we all love down the Lane. Dam the international break can't wait to see he pull on the famous shirt.

Very few of these so called ITK's have any real connection, its all fun and games, but best be treated much like we treat Sky Sports News of the back page of the Sun. They are nothing more than rumour whores.

iaG he is defo a quality player. I suppose it all depends on how we keep progressing to weather he stays. But that's football. But for me this is the biggest signing we have made since Jurgen/Ginola.

Has anybody else noticed that Chelski have only submitted a squad of 19 players? (excluding u21s) i presume this is due to the homegrown rule as they have only named 4 HG players, time for the pikeys to struggle 3 or 4 injuries and they are in the doo doo surely?
Even if VDV turns out to be only fairly good, then we can still flip him to ManU for a quick 'we want to buy someone big but can't afford it 16-18 mil. Money doubled.
ITK is a myth, considering most managers, Harry included, really have no idea who their chairman is bringing in. Valdano called up Levy on a favour to give him first dibs on VDV, for 2 reasons - he knows we are and will be in the market for fairly big name players, and Real will always have a surplus. Also, we are probably a good club for a mega-club to be on good terms with, considering the amount of shit-hot young talent we have. It's a good 2 way relationship. All we need to do is wait for Gago and Higuain to get trumped by Mourinhos BFFs (Essien and Drogba). And Levy being Levy, he is blatantly a tight lipped motherfucker. As if some local nobody ITK is going to penetrate Levy's tight circle (oooh matron).

If we do well, and finish top 4 again, why would he want to leave? Finish top 4 this season, then we can actual challenge for the title the season after. It's not beyond the realms of impossibility. It's why 4th is the main goal for us. Should be the main goal.
I cant put this one on the same level as signing Klinsmann. I still remember reading it on teletext on a Friday night and my dad laughing, but also being a bit annoyed that I had made up such bullshit. The signing to equal that would have been Forlan.
Spurslad, another thing I noticed was the lack of depth of Chelski's center backs. They've a boat load of full backs, but only, from what I could see, Ivanovic and youngsters for cover in place of Terry and Alex, after selling Carvalho. I don't normally wish injury on any player, but...

Maybe I'm getting a bit carried away as Klingsman coming was off the back of being one of the best players at the 94 world cup. But VDV has all the ability to be a massive star with Spurs and the fact he is 27 even better. I agree Forlan (31) would have been good for one year maybe but this is a far better signing on so many levels. In my opinion of course

seriously happy with VDV, a great player imho, very underrated by many i believe and I think even tho expectations are high that we will all be surprised at just how good he is when he finally graces our shirt.....having said that I also thought we'd beat stoke....

First off, mates, I’m no Dutch, but from courtesy reasons to our new star player, and not wanting to ignorantly butcher his name, I did some self-educational homework regarding RvdV’s name. I hope this may be helpful to few other COYS.
In the Netherlands the middle name is used for storing surname prefixes like "van der" (which means “of the”). The prefix is however known as "tussenvoegsel" as it is always placed between the first name and surname (by the way, the following prefixes have the same meaning: van de, van de l', van den, vander, van gen, van het, van la, van 't, van ter, and van van de).
Prefix “van der” is not capitalized if the name starts with first name (e.g. Rafael van der Vaart), but it is capitalized if the first name is not present (e.g. Van der Vaart). In case someone from the COYS family would like to give him a jingle, in the phone directory you would find Rafael van der Vaart under the V for Vaart, instead of under the V for “van” as would be expected in English speaking countries.

ITK's stopped knowing around 2-3 years ago. At least back then some of the info shared online was pretty solid. Best one I saw was the kid in the airport who meet Zokora and I think Comolli, and had his photo taken. And they called him ITK. Surely he was just in the right place at the right time?
I know others claim to be ITK but guys I really am ITK.

This transfer window did not make sense to me from a football perspective. wWe needed STRIKERS but got none.
I expect it was probbly over inflated egos that got in the way. that is what usually causes a club to stall for 3 months and finally make a last minute deperate rush to the fax machine.
liverpool and city invested while we dithered. That is no way for a serious club to face the challenges to our fourth place.
Buying Fabiano for 20 mil makes no sense from a business perspective. But from a footballing perspective it makes sense, and what benefits the footballing side will eventually benefit the business side. We have to accept that we are going to get rinsed on a lot of potential transfer deals as most clubs know we have a bit of cash to flash. Paying over the odds for a player isn't always a bad thing. If he's the right player, it's worth paying 5 mil extra to secure him. Not every player is going to have resale value.
is VDV's missus really all that? She looks like a cross between Georgie Thompson and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas ie a very attractive and well groomed transsexual. Too much tan, too much make up and too much of a manly jawline for me.
Chiv, If we intend to play with one striker in a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 formation then he is exactly what we needed.....
I love the rumourwhores , they make me smile because most of it is mostly Journo's having way to much time on their hands or (and this has not been mentioned) it's because the players agents go around and spread all these rumours ... they love a rumour around their brand (player).
And above all , a lot of players deal with different clubs and if a deal falls through that doesn't mean the rumour was false ...
And Beetle , you are on the right track with the naming thing (i am Dutch speaking) but even we do not get all the disctinctions between VDV or VdV ... I
