Back in the real world, I detached myself from pre-season friendlies after being psychologically shagged up by the thrashing we dished out to Roma, to be proceeded with two measly points from eight games when the proper games kicked-off. So rather than commit suicide after the dismantling of our beloved club this evening, read this quick-sharp review of the game, settle down, and forget about it.

Just got back.
First half was terrible. Boring. We were outclassed completely. But it was a complete mish-mash of a team. For someone that forged a reputation on keeping the game simple, we had a lot of players out of position from Harry in the first half. But it doesn't really matter. Hutton - crap. Just so, so bad. How was he ever seriously linked with Man United? Naughton's not yet good enough to be our 3rd choice right back so he was never going to do anything at left back. We just couldn't keep the ball.
Second half was a lot better. BAE was good I thought. Few times he tried to keep the ball in dangerous positions but it shows he's about retaining possession, hardly renders him shit. Bale a bit dangerous. Walker surprisingly for me good attacking although got beaten a few times at the back. Rose looked tidy in the middle although I doubt he'll ever be serious option, it was more surprising that he wasn't completely outclassed. Gio lively. Crouch confident. Liked the look of Parrett when he came on, and Adel didn't have much time to make an impact although one flick I thought was very clever.
Pretty bad game but we had a fair few chances second half and so did they. Don't think any conclusions team-wise can be drawn from it.

So we lost to Villareal in a pre-season friendly. So fucking what. Someone mentioned Ramos deja vu. Are you insane? Has everyone forgotten what Harry has done for us? This whole discussion started from a joke wind up headline and everyone seems to have lost the plot. You all should know how Harry works by now, he is the most shrewd and cleverest dealer in the game. If it so happens that he dont sign anyone it wont be his fault, it will be the chairmans. As for shit forwards, Defoe was one of the highest scorers in all competitions, Crouch is the best target man in the prem equal to say Adebayor, Super Pav (thats what we all sing remember) can score at any given time, Gudjohnson is a great squad member, GIo is world class and proved it the other night, and if Bellamy does come then great cos he literally shits the life out of any full back. Also, I think you're reading too much into some of the comments made here - admittedly some sem so tongue in cheek it's questionable whether they weren't serious. I applaud you on your loyalty and support of our players and manager, although if you don't think we need to up our game collectively and individually, no wonder you can't tell the Yiddos from the Goonscum.

i never mentioned anything about not upping our game individually or collectively. That wasnt the issue. Anybody with any knowledge of football knows that for us to be able to compete in the CL we need some big signings.I have run forums on f/book about this issue. My point is simple. I dont like to see or hear cynical fans with short memories who instead of debating things in an adult way, suddenly start ranting that our players and manager that got us to our highest Prem position ever are suddenly shit or worse. If you think i cant tell the Yids from the goonscum my friend maybe we should meet up and discuss it then you would see that i clearly can tell the difference. When living out your alter ego in cyberspace, it's a good idea to stay in character. Very revealing the way your grammar and sentence structure dramatically improved when you discussed your facebook hosting activities. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
You don't need to pretend you're some sort of hard man from the terraces to be taken seriously on this blog. And if you want to read is "Spurs and every single thing related to Spurs right down to possible signings are perfect," well, there are plenty of fan boy sites out there. This, however, isn't one of them. Telling fellow posters they need to be shot and proposing "maybe we should meet up and discuss it...Been on the terraces a long time mate dont even think about suggesting otherwise" if they hold an opinion different from yours is juvenile and doesn't add to the quality of the debate.
Because that's what we do here, debate. Express our views, opinions, hopes, fears, ambitions and concerns about the club we all love.

If you do some digging around here I think you'll find Ziegemonster is a committed yid who has posted often and clearly has a lot of faith, passion and ... yeah ... a little bit of doubt which in my experience is a large part of supporting Spurs. Maybe this doesn't speak for you and your mates but most yiddos I know are neurotic headcases who almost only see the dark clouds up ahead. It's part of the terrible excruciating joy of supporting our beloved team :)
This blog and this comment section is meant to be fun and passionate and god knows a lot of us here get into occasional moments of knee-jerking self-doubt but we wouldn't be here if we didn't all love Spurs with all of our hearts.
