Fantastic news everybody
West Ham are refusing to sell Scott Parker to Tottenham. Don't care much for Parker, sorry. Was a decent player but can't see how he fits into any possible Spurs line-up for the 2011 season. And I don't quite agree with the Upton Park faithful that there's a vendetta being played out by Harry against them (and you thought I was the paranoid delusional one?).
Know your history - Levy and Sullivan are not exactly best buddies. Not that it would stop us bidding for West Ham players, but it's tiresome because they have very little to offer us in the way of improving our current squad and we all know their club motto 'Thou shall not sell to that bigger club who are not really our rivals but we like to dream they are'.
JR Hartley in da house. Back in your box, I'm just teasing.
In all seriousness, if this isn't Levy trying to wind up his old enemy (oh look I'm now as delusional as the WH fans) then it all comes down to Harry actually rating and wanting Parker.
Which more or less sums up this transfer market and the lack of any genuine gobsmackingly good targets. Real targets, not media soundbites.
As for WH, it's all about decent propaganda for their fans, using the Spurs bid to drum home the fact that they are not a selling club.
I mean seriously, this is the news today. It's not slow, it's flipping backwards.

We have to realise that signing a world class player will not be easy. The prospect of Champions League football does not guarantee players will want to come to Spurs. Most world class players would rather sign for Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc becasue they have a more famous recent history and can offer players more money. The problem isn't offering the club the right amount of money, the problem is, unfortunately, that many players will turn us down in favour of other clubs just based on reputation alone. Imagine if I asked you now if you would rather play for Schalke or Bayern Munich. Most people would say Bayern. Hopefully this will change in a few years.
Money is also an issue. Man City have little footballing reputation as well but they have lots of money and offer huge salaries. We have a wage cap and refuse to break it - which is very respectable in itself but it means attracting stars is even harder.
Personally, I hope we keep the team we have at the momment and don't sign anyone at all. We are a team and every player in our squad is capable of putting in some quality performances. Last summer we did not make many moves in the transfer market, thus allowing the team to gel and understand each others style of play. As a result we got that 4th spot. If we do even less this summer, we might do even better.
But I may be wrong and ultimately we have to trust the great man who got us this far so whatever Harry does I will be behind it because he knows best.
Guys, Cpme on - its Levy's week and they come in threes.
First lets wind up Harringay..........
Now its westham.............
So who do you think is next for the hatrick?? I think its going to be a bid for Fabricas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way HC Harringay = Labour = what you now have - yep, its looking good!!! They have definetly run our city and country...........right into the f@@@@ ground mate!!
Robs you twisted bitter man if you new the real reason for the little one leg and why he went went to Liverskint .Firstly Gerrad and Carragher persuaded him i if he went to there club he would get picked even if he was crap. . Secondly he was guaranteed to run faster and for longer with the Duracelll Bunniesand lose weight of is chubby face . Plus he got free house insurance in case Everton fans rob is house when the play away . I predicted Robbie Keane would get robbed and he did and also he would not play well the same will happen tp Colle. Has for Transfers we will win without any new arrivals because one thing Harry is not considering is this team and our kids are another year older wiser and better and more familiar with each others game . Lennon and Kranjcae Moderic have had light seasons with Injury's and if Lennon and Kranjcar are fully free from there injury's they will be even better and fresher.
Problem is a stale & turgid market at the moment- things will hot up in August. Also Arry is finding out the higher you go the harder it is to get & find real bargains- for no one going to charge pompey the earth for players- also TOP TOP players demand Top wages which I believe RIGHTLY Levy has got wage structure right. WE ARE NOT A TOP 4 TEAM- but a team that made the Top 4. We must grow organically not artificially- & I believe he's eyeing up some deals loan deals from Citeh bcos they can only use 25 for PL- & not sure they want top wages going on players who can only play in cups?? They will have to sell & ship many out on loan like: Cruz, Jo, Bellamy, Ireland, & possible Richards, Inuoha?, Wright Philips, even Adebayor, if they go for Dzeko or Torres..
Harrys been talking about playing a 4-2-3-1 in Europe all summer meaning he wants to try 2 def mids, 3 att mids and a lone striker a la Germany. Presently we've only got Wilson who's prepared to put his foot in until Sandro finally arrives so this signing makes sense to me. Hardly mind blowing I know but sensible all the same. As for Ozil, great player that he is, where's he gonna play? Instead of Bale? Instead of Luka? Think not. If were going to spend any serious money i reckon it has to be on a new cb or cf. All other additions will surely just be squad players like maybe Bellamy / Richards etc.
Someone said Fergie wants Ozil so forget that, well that might have been the case once but not now.1.1 BILLION IN DEBT WITH AN AGEING SQUADand Fergie nearing retirement, suddenly does,nt look so attractive.Players are not stupid and they are starting to look at different options, inthe next 2/3 years iexpect Man City to overtake Manure. Can they afford the 15 million fee for Ozil,i have my doubts
Robs I have two words for you, don't make me rape you
Wouldn't be surprised if Parker does still come in. A bit of dosh plus o hara (who grant loves) and hutton. You can see it happening, this one
Levy out!
What do you mean Levy Out? Shaat app yoo tart!
Anyway, I want bug-eyed Ozil, possibly Craig 'I'll give YOU a hole in one' Bellamy, and a goal scoring midfielder.
Failing that, a 25+ goals striker with CL experience...but that's BIG Money and dreamland tbf.
Parker and his sparrow's drumstick legs??? No thank you! A capable player, with good spirit actually (something all too rare) but I don't see him as a worthwhile 'improvement' to us.
Golden Sullivan HAS tapped his own player up (as mentioned before)
Laughable.
So who is it in the midfield that we have got who can add that bit of steel then? Huddlestone? Be serious. He's got talents but chasing back and tackling are not among them. Palacious and who else then? No-one, that's who. Scott Parker - West Ham's player of the year for the past two seasons - would be a great squad signing for us and it would piss the spammers right off as welll. You guys have got to get real. Look at Arsenal, they are not a team of fly-by-night world cup superstars - in fact you lot wouldn't advocate signing more than two of their squad would you? And yet they pissed us last season - and they were crap by their standards. Even when we at last beat them in the league - for the first time in Adam's years - they were unlucky not to get at least a draw. And Gooners reckon they had a crap season. Leave it to Harry - he knows what he's doing. It's not all about signing the latest jack-the-lad who happened to get noticed in a tournament when he was surrounded by world class players. Stop bitching and get behind the manager.
Joking son.
does nobody have any sense? Spurs need to get players that will improve the squad , thats pretty obvious!!! If Spurs want to maintain their stay in the higher leagues, once again, season after season, I say we should start by looking at the spine of our team. Is it as good as those teams around us. Man Utd, Chelsea and Liver pool had annd still have a better spine to their teams ( Liverpool had a manager, who had a defeatest mindset in Benitez "happy not to lose" unilike Alex " I am here to win" Fergie).
Centre backs as I said last year we need to sort out Dawson blah blah blah (he's had one good season and didnt even play at the world cup but i hope he has another stormer). King - a part timer, that leaves only Bassong. Iwould cut my losses fling the druggie Woodgate out (cocaine is one hellova drug!!!!) and go buy Lugano - the centre back for Uraguay. He plays inTurkey, wont cost much and is a solid, tough tackling level headed defender similar mould to Lucio of Brasil. Has experience of winning leagues and playing in Europe. He even got voted the best captain at the world cup for those of you who didnt know. Getting a young unproven centreback is a stupid idea, in one of the most important positions.
Midfield - I hear Scott Parkers name being branded about. I would tell him to stay where he is. What we need are more tough tackling midfielders we have Palacios and Sandro. Huddlestone cant tackle for fish and Jenas is just crap. when one of them is injured or suspended we will be back to square one. One of the best unknown midfielders in the world cup was Perez from Uraguay aka the Pitbull. If you were watching closely theis boy didnt allow the opposition to settle on the ball at all. He can run all day and can pass better than Palacios who Zokora. he could tackle but to pass 6 yards was difficult for him. Palacios is the same but at least he can pass over 15 yards. Perez on the opther hand can put the ball thru the eye of a needle - spanish stylee. He was their Makalele, water carrier , the battery in their watch. If not Perez then Annan, from Ghana. He played a similar role . Accomplished on the ball doesnt stray forward and is not afraid to put a tackle in. Annan also has youth on his side and As spurs are now a selling club, we could still sell him on in a few years time as well.
Up front I would get rid of that Giraffe Crotch. when he plays Spurs forget about playing football and resort to long ball tactics. Wimbledon type footy and its crap. We are better than that. If Harry wants to play with a 3 pronged attack , or a 4-5-1Crotch doesnt fit in unless he is a sub. I dont really have time for subs and want first teamers on the bench who are chomping at the nit because they want to score goals and hate being on the bench. Therefore I would buy Podolski or Gyan of Ghana. If any of you play football to a good standard then you will know what Gyan did during the world cup was amazing. In a 4-5-1 formation he alone was able to score goals, miss penalties, assist and give 4 , yes 4 defenders a torrid time on his own up front. Imagine him in the EPL where defenders are not that great ( their first touch is poor even at the top teams - Terry, Camp Bell, Carragher, Upson, Dunne). He will run riot. Podolski - i dont really need to say much aboiut him . We have seen it for years and still no bid from Spurs who get lkinked with every other shit or onne season wonder forward there is. Consitently good Podolski. His only problem is he is getting Steve Bullitis and wanting to stay with his home team - Cologne who are crap.
Spurs get some balls and some brains and get players who will be solid for the season ahead which will consist of more games than last season, lots of travelling and injuries and we need to be prepared for the fight ahead. At the rate we are going we will get knocked out before Champions League proper and as Drogba said It's a fucking disgrace!!!!
"are we only after targets that speak "geezer" ?"
Yes, I noticed that pattern too.
Singapore, excellent post, but regarding your lovely list of targets. see the above quote. Harry's got his comfort zone, which includes running his mouth in front of any available camera but does not include any player who does not speak cockney.
Peter principle. I said it last season and I'll say it again. Harry was hired as a specialist to keep us from getting relegated. He did the job. But he has bugger all experience managing a top 7 side i.e. one consistently competing in Europe, never mind champions league. He's been promoted beyond the level of his own competence.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong, and there's a whole slew of pending deals for those key positions but the players are just waiting to see if we make it through the qualifiers into the champions league proper and all this chat about frankly average but at least they're British players has all been part of a cunning plan. Well, we can dream...
Special one--I'm with you on almost everything you say but did you watch Podolski at Bayern last year?
And yes Ziegemonster--I think we have enough English players at Spurs thank you very much.
oops meant to say koln
OK it's war Daniel Levy should openly state that no longer will Tottenham Hotspur allow any of our crap ,injury prone or soon to be pensioned off players to leave White Hart Lane for Upton Park, as the treaty clearly states that anything half decent they've got is always only a loan until WE decide that they're good enough for Spurs. This agreement has stood since time immemorial, and now the owner of perverts weekly steps in and everything that was once held dear has gone...for now anyway!
a year ago west ham said they will never sell their players to tottenham... so extremely unlikely they will accept any offer for Parker.. ( not that I want us to buy him but any how)
link below to the article about this...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/westham/4370242/West-Ham-wont-sell-players-to-Tottenham-insists-Scott-Duxbury.html
Never mind about buying players - our problem is going to be hanging on to the ones we have got when city come in with big offers for the likes of lennon etc
Does this mean WHU are no longer our feeder club ?
If HR wants to play a lone striker and cannot get a top player, I would not be surprised to see him go for Carlton Cole.
As far as Parker is concerned, on other blogs a lot of Birmingham supporters are saying Gold and Sullivan made similar noises whilst at Birmingham regarding the sale of key players, only to do a U turn at the eleventh hour with the excuse being the offer was too good to refuse, or the player wanted to leave because his head had been turned.
This one may not be over yet.
Leave the drug testing to Me and Thermourman. Woody is on Anti inflammatory drugs now you need to look at Huddlestones states mate he will surprise you and he showed in America he can tackle and brought the ball away in one episode from defence and he had the commentators drooling . He has not finished on the losing side playing Centre half and his tackling has improved since Palacios arrived and so has Bales our midfield had the worse run in to finish fourth and to play the Team away who also where going for fourth is incredible and if our Team had not grown up after that game they never will this midfield will compete against any defence and system you like to throw at it . Lennon speed elusive crosser. Huddlestone size best passing and can tackle. Modric wizardry Bale the lot . we also have good reserves so we need a midfielder like the new World cup ball and vuvazules 25 players who no each other is better than strangers untried you cant change a player who has flunked
Our transfer budgets and targets are looking unambitious to met. Don't see the point getting to the CL if we don't prepare for it properly which means investing in the squad and doing it early in the window too.
nyc - No worries Dad :o)
WTF?! haha
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrischarles/sullivanblazer595.jpg
LOL - SAME OLD TOTTENHAM. "JOE COLE WOULD OF COME IF WE COULD BE BOTHERED TO OFFER HIM THE WAGES HE WANTED..." COURSE HE WOULD. AFTER ALL, YOU HAVE WON THE WORTHLESS CUP IN THE LAST FEW YEARS & MANAGED TO GET TO A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PRELIMINARY ROUND COMPARED TO LIVERPOOL'S WINNING OF THE WHOLE FUCKING TOURNAMENT (THE SAME ONE YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN IN) AND CONSTANT PARTICIPATION OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS. IDEAS ABOVE STATION - AS PER ALWAYS. FORESKINLESS MUGS.
Better to be dreamers than to be sad racist cunts.
And next time, try masking your ip address, yeah?
;)
Ah bless the little hammers cotton socks.
Dear Mr Levy
Please buy some players. The Champions League awaits.
p.s. if you could get rid of that ugly stripe on the shorts that wold be great, thanks.
"Mark Hughes took charge at Fulham and immediately set about scuppering Tottenham's move for Man City's Craig Bellamy "

God bless you, Sparky!
I knew Redknapp wouldn't let it lie about Parker and WH but it makes me nervous that we'll get him. I pray that WH have the balls not to sell him. Is there anyone, anywhere who wants him?
