bilo if you really want to be worried, 1 in 5 people in the UK now work for the civil service as they took on several thousand new employees in the last 12 months.
Now granted some of them do a fine job, but like an albino dwarf, they are very much in the minority!

Harry earns a fortune (compared with most of us) and should pay his dues to society like the rest of us. I don't get any opportunity to be creative with my taxes - they take it out my salary every month. Its typical of the rich that they don't want to pay their fair share. Harry is a brilliant manager and I hope he doesn't go down and this has no impact on his concentration to the job of managing Spurs. BUT if he's found guilty I hope they fine him to the max...and they weed out the rest. Yes of course they are making an example of him - he's high profile and gives the tax people a chance to make an example... The fact they spent a fortune chasing him is irrelevant, the tax system has got to be seen to be fair otherwise we end up like some banana republic where only the mugs that work for a living pay taxes and the rich get off scot free.... Harry owes 40k, and this investigation goes back years. How much has he earned in the last 10 years? At a conservative estimate let's say £10m. He would have paid around £4m of that in tax in that time, he will just explain it away as an oversight. It's like the average man owing about a grand.
While I understand why the majority of you are so dismissive of this charge considering the position, I would love to see your reaction if this was brought against say Arsene Wenger or John Terry, or if this was a front page story in a rag about asylum seekers. I some how doubt you'd be making the same comments and taking the stance that you are now.
As I said a little while back on here, this is no real surprise. Redknapp is one of the dodgiest men in English football. It is interesting to see that Peter Storrie - a man who has followed him from West Ham to Portsmouth and has been involved in numerous decidedly dodgy deals - and Milan Mandaric - the chairman at that club at the time - have also been charged for similar offences.
As a side note, Gooner Jake has made a lot of you look like complete mugs.
