Another mid-table finish, so says Piers

The latest from the Daily Fail. Piers Morgan has made some predictions about the Prem season ahead. Here's the one he's made about us:

11 Spurs will get off to a flying start and I’ll start getting the usual crowing cockerel texts and emails from my chortling White Hart Lane pals. Then they’ll hit a blip, Harry Redknapp will announce his pet dog could score easier than Defoe and Crouch, Robbie ‘kiss the badges’ Keane will leave for another ‘dream’ club and they’ll end up mid-table, like they always do.

Get the usual crowing cockerel text messages? Yes, very good Piers. Thing is, your Tottenham mates will be there to answer the phone and stand up and listen to your abuse, as opposed to disappearing off the face of the earth, which is what you insufferable melters do when things turn to shit.

Still, at least he admits that Arsenal do not have a squad with the physical or mental strength to seriously challenge for trophies. Depressing, is barely the word for it, he says.

Welcome back to the real world. Don't go getting knocked out of the Champions League now.

Piers Morgan = Wanker

Is there anything else to add?

No surprise to hear that he's an Arsenal fan. The bloke's well suited to the paper he writes for

He was a douche to me already.

pierce is such a goon, hes got no idea about football. why do they even have him writing an article?

Aug 9, 2009 at 3:17 AM | Unregistered CommenterJames

Stick to 'Britains got talent' you utter nonce. Why the fuck is he busying himself with sport all of a sudden? YOU DON'T BELONG!

Aug 9, 2009 at 3:29 AM | Unregistered CommenterDavidColeman

Aug 9, 2009 at 4:15 AM | Unregistered Commenterloafer

Perhaps he should jump off a Pier - preferably over deep water!

Piers Morgan, failed and disgraced editor of a gutter press rag! whooopi!

Aug 9, 2009 at 5:39 AM | Unregistered CommenterSidders

He is surely the most intolerable, ignorant, self-satisfied wankrag in the whole country and, as previously mentioned, it comes as no surprise to discover that he's a Gooner. I read that whole article and every single sentence is redolent with shite. I also notice that he couldn't help namedropping whoever it is that's supposed to be buying Portsmouth.

"Portsmouth will be absolutely fine. I know the guy who is buying them, Sulaiman Al-Fahim, and he is not only a very serious businessman, he’s also stinking rich. So relax, Pompey fans."

Seriously, why doesn't he just fuck off and die? His very presence on the Earth makes me ashamed to be of the same species as him.

Typical Arsenal Fan, they are all the same

Aug 9, 2009 at 6:27 AM | Unregistered CommenterMatthew Glover

Unfortunately, having met and spent an evening with the guy (bizarrely doing a quiz!), I can't accept the personal criticisms being aimed at him. He wasn't at all like he is on TV and was actually a really interesting and decent guy.
His football knowledge however is minimal, neither he or Rory McGrath could name the Chelsum players that missed penalties in the Champions League Final... Typical 'Arse' fan from that point of view; no idea about football.

Aug 9, 2009 at 7:28 AM | Unregistered CommenterStephen

What about last season he predicted?

Aug 9, 2009 at 7:52 AM | Unregistered Commentersefah

He said "not logical but personal wish".

Aug 9, 2009 at 8:03 AM | Unregistered CommenterG

pies morgan is a low life scumbag gooner of the highest order, we should put him on stage and shove the arsenal cannon up his arse and then give the order to fire...ahem...on another nore, he is probably right we will finish mid table...oh well...come on your spurs

Aug 9, 2009 at 8:12 AM | Unregistered CommenterOssiesDream

What the feck does he know about football the guys a moronic piece of cancerious riden recktum, plus i dont like him

russian blue 1st

Aug 9, 2009 at 8:44 AM | Unregistered Commenterlouis walsh

Wanker is much too nice a word for Morgan, the world's dullest man. Could only be a Gooner, but to be fair he has supported them for over 10 years unlike most of the wankers at Scumbury.

Aug 9, 2009 at 9:47 AM | Unregistered CommenterMark

Unfortunately, Arsenal scumbag or not, he's right, it will be another mid table effort by the boys from WHL. Flogging Bent was good business, he was never worth 16m of anyone's money but replacing him with the equally prolific 3MP doesn't really add up to a team pushing for champions league football does it now? Of course I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see it. Huntelaar or Crouch. Hmmm, difficult decision that one. Oh yeah, Crouchie every time. I can see Levy now, so which one's the cheapest? and is he any good? Played for Liverpool? So did Keane, so he must be good. As for Piers Morgan, he should stick to the Britains got the X Factor Talent if you ask me.

Aug 9, 2009 at 9:48 AM | Unregistered Commenterleerocker

totally agree leerocker,

we just arent buying the players that will take us to the next level.

Aug 9, 2009 at 9:54 AM | Unregistered CommenterOssiesDream

Why are you paying any attention to Piers Moron formerly of the extreme left Daily Moron

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:31 AM | Unregistered Commentername

"I can't accept the personal criticisms being aimed at him. He wasn't at all like he is on TV and was actually a really interesting and decent guy."

He was editor of a paper that viciously abused anyone who disagreed with their left wing views (such as wanting William Hague to fall off the back of a lorry and die)

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:32 AM | Unregistered Commentername

we've always had a problem with the left wing

ps: I know being a lefty myself.

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:34 AM | Unregistered CommenterOssiesDream

oh come on, be honest, we'd all love it and piss ourselves laughing if william hague fell off the back of a lorry and died

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:35 AM | Unregistered CommenterOssiesDream

Frankly there should be a huge deep dark pit to dump the entire tory party into.

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:41 AM | Unregistered Commenterepochery

fact .....we were fifth on stats last year with redknapp.....best defence in 70 years!

Bent score,s goals .....its his style which has been swapped for with crouch......other options...away from home last ten etc

new players last season have EPL season as a team behind them......!

Man C have to gel as a team which could take 2 months or straightaway....my hunch is the former due to pressure

losing against a stoke etc...

there is probably 6-8 teams this year.....the ones who remain in jan and the run in have a go!.....

whatever soundbite Harry will state......since he came hear etc......will be stated!!
collectable....

Piers Morgan.......know f all about anything just a media tart

Aug 9, 2009 at 10:48 AM | Unregistered CommenterBilliospur

Honestly, who gives one solitary shit about what Piers "I'm a twat and everyone knows I'm a twat bar me" Morgan thinks? If I wanted to know about what Jordan's getting up to or how hairy Simon Cowell's cock is, he'd be the man to turn to. But football? Who the fuck asked you Piers??

Aug 9, 2009 at 12:05 PM | Unregistered CommenterBenny Guy

Ossies Dream & epochery - take your liberal hippy bullshit elsewhere you pair of c*nts. This is an article on Tottenham & a goon knob who writes sh*t, not the Guardian. Besides, you're in a MASSIVE, yet annoyingly voiciferous minority. Get f*cked.

Aug 9, 2009 at 12:13 PM | Unregistered CommenterSLY

What Piers Morgan has to say about football is about as relevant and insightful as Kerry Katona giving her thoughts on political reform in the middle east.

Aug 9, 2009 at 12:25 PM | Unregistered Commenternik

SLY

with all due respect, go fuck your mother.

OssiesWetDream
Ha! Are you for real? How old are you?!
Obviously you haven't done sex-ed at school yet, let me clear something up for you...... You see, although you lost your virginty to your dad, 'normal' sex would involve a pussy - this is where babies come from. What your dad did to you isn't normal, and you will not get pregnant from it.

Now for mum gags!! Your mum is so fat, I climbed on the bitch and burnt my arse on the light-bulb.
Your mum is so fat, when I'd finished I rolled over twice and was still on the bitch.
Your mum is so hairy, you were born with carpet burns.
I got plenty more, hippy.

You are way out of your league mate......

Aug 9, 2009 at 4:01 PM | Unregistered CommenterSLY

Ah, the good ol' school holidays are here again, it's so stimulating, the sudden rise in witty repartee. I'm sure that SLY and ossiesdream will go on to be Booker Prize winning authors, they just seem to have forgotten that thay both support the same side.
Regarding that numpty Morgan; I used to detest Jeremy Clarkson, but he went up hugely in my estimation when he twatted Morgan at some awards dinner. Jezza is an honorary Spur in my book.

Aug 9, 2009 at 5:15 PM | Unregistered Commentersilver_spurfer

I agree silver_spurfer, although please don't lump me in with ossiesdream. My posts are much better. There is nothing witty about his.
In my defence, I did come on here to read about spurs, only to find two hippies trading marxist obscenities. (not bad for a school-boy, eh?)

For the record, I haven't forgotten we support the same team, I'm mortified.

Back to spurs....... Not bad today, although I'm hoping Defoe and Crouch start together next week.

Aug 9, 2009 at 5:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterSLY

i'm such a waanker

Aug 9, 2009 at 6:16 PM | Unregistered Commenterpiers morgan

Getting back to the footie...I'm looking at a squad that can field two XI's? There has to be more outgoings no? Gomes, Eketto, King, Woodgate, Corluka Modric, Palacios, Jenas, Lennon, Crouch, Defoe
Cudicini Bale, Dawson, Bassong, Naughton Huddlestone, Livermore, O'Hara, Bentley Pav, Keane

and that leaves out Hutton, Chimbonda, Boateng, Dos Santos? I bit number heavy for a non-European team!

Aug 10, 2009 at 5:57 AM | Unregistered CommenterTim

Tim, you missed out K-P Boateng, nearly scored with his first touch yesterday! Maybe he has a future at WHL, he's a bit like the reverse of Jenas, but with the same 'marmite-esque' affection amongst the fans. Livermore to derby on loan for a month is a good call IMO,

I say start the season now, a settled squad that won't set the EPL alight, but will be more robust for the whole season and with a bit of luck might make a couple of decent cup runs.

I also believe that we are targetting Europa next season and so are keeping the core of the squad together, including the 'yoof' or at least those that are 'triffil'.

As for Piers Morgan, well I have long held a belief that opinions are only valid from those who are qualified to talk on any respective matter. So really, don't give a toss what the narcissistic twat has to say.

(As a random aside - something I am prone to every now and then - for anyone who considers that 'britains got the x-talent factor' is anything more than a programme to satisfy the blood lust for degrading the masses whom the collective veiwing can look down upon and support in an equally fickle manner, needs to read the original 'running man' by Stephen King (as Richard Bachman).

Whereby the media effectively control how society acts. Good read as well, nothing like the film, and frightnening that it was probably 15-20 years ago that it was written.

There that should keep some of the kids happy for the next couple of weeks!)

Right time for a random and slightly oddly placed england freindly to look forward to (three days before the start of the EPL, who thought that one up? Oh, hang on I know, it was the FA trying to pay for their stadium once again wasn't it!).

Aug 10, 2009 at 9:47 AM | Unregistered CommenterTricky

For 'triffil' read 'triffik' I really should hire someone to read my nonsense before I post it....

Aug 10, 2009 at 9:48 AM | Unregistered CommenterTricky

Just flicking back to the 'great spam debate', you know you're playing short-stacked when Charlton raise you out of the game before the flop.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11675_5482967,00.html

Ouch, that's gotta dent a few ego's (not least the spam chairman I think)
