Vucinic? Jog on mate

We've been linked with 107 players thus far in this transfer window. I'd wager we've either shown genuine interest or inquired in about 12 of them, 15 at a push. But still stories get printed based on either the imagination of tabloid hacks or football agents looking for some promotional space in the sports columns to make everyone aware of their clients possible availability. And everyone treats this as gospel, as part of an never-ending tapestry of truth.

Always makes me smile when a player actually responds to such a story and is quoted spurning the team linked with acquiring his signature, usually with distain and arrogance and a swagger that screams 'how very dare you show interest in me'.

Mirko Vucinic is one such player. I know my football. Outside of England I follow La Liga but I'll hold up my hands and say that Italian football is one interest that faded many years ago. I have not a clue whether this player is any good or if he would adapt to the English game. He could well be the Italian Darren Bent for all I know.

At the moment it's useless to talk about Vucinic because to me he is a nobody, a non-entity, a name printed in the back pages of a newspaper. If we are linked with someone from the continent I'm aware of then we'll see. Obviously there are players I wouldn’t want us to ever seriously consider.

Vucinic? Let's reject him.

I'd be sorry if he left Roma. Best place for him.

Next..?

Vucinic ? sounds more like a disease to me!! Never heard of him before and I doubt he will ever be a household name so please dont try and big up yourself by talking about us!

AS I SAID YESTERDAY:

Typical twisting of the story by journalists: "'I will never sign for Spurs' says Vucinic"... Reading the article no mention of Spurs. "I don't want to leave Roma". Media-bias, surely not? Just some Arsenal hack.

He is apparently a montenegran. I assume thats what they call playing in the hole on the continent?? Anyhow, never heard of him.....We probably have more money and more history than his whole country lol. He rejects us?? cheeky twat.

the usual anti spurs bile.....we have a strong name which sells papers....if vucinic said the same about birmingham it would not get printed....editors a biased gooner or something.....interesting how the never ending tapestry of truth (Sky,Tabloids.you heard it here first folks) has become drunk on its own 24 hour reporting copy and paste mentality........we must print/say anything regardless.........

EG
Harry beats Figo in a crazy golf game ....and the windmill of blx means hes joining spurs for an undisclosed fee

(was talking to an elderly lady at a bus stop.....who told me to fxxx off)

what is going on?

OK then no Vuciwotsit whatever his name is/was at the lane next season....BUT the Viera story is gathering more and more pace rather like a snowball so there may actually be some truth in this one, it certainly ticks all the boxes and fills all the criteria to be a HR deal. So, another gooner at the lane perhaps?? On a personal note, if it does happen and we get anywhere near the Viera that the scum had then I might sing a bar or two Viera oh oh oh oh.....

The word is out and some trigger men from the old county are about to 'whack' him.

To my fellow spurs fans.

Apart from following spurs religiously & watching most other prem matches, i also follow Serie A quite enthusiastically with Roma being my favourite time. Vicinic is quite a skillfull player, but apart from that, doesn't offer much else. No pace, average strenght at best & dreadful in the air for his size. He would NEVER be a success in the prem league. A defender like Michael Dawson would piss all over him. He's decent in italy cause the game is played at a much slower pace, but overall, i'd have darren bent over him any day of the week.

Let this prick run his mouth all he wants... & hopefully Roma will sell him to a team like Sienna where he would be among players of his caliber.

COYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to agree with this. This guy looks no better than Bent or Pav. So no reason to even have him around. Would much prefer Ruud - that story has gone very quiet!

My mates a Roma fan (took him to the friendly at the lane!) and would happily pay to swap Pav for Vucinic...

He scored a cracking goal against Chelski in the Champs League last year when they got done 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico. Still, he's no great shakes. Totti is still better than him and he's like 33 or something. Besides, where did Roma finish?6th...He cant be that good.

Where did Tottenham finish? 7th. None of their players can be that good.

What stupid 'logic'.

The player rejected Spurs, a club that showed no interest in him other than within the imagination of a journalist.
