Henry 3:16 says I just handballed

I'm still KO'ed from a horrid bout of man-flu. So no 10,000 word editorals from me today. Instead, a copy and paste job citing me old mucker Enter the Pitbull from the Glory Glory forum.

Henry is a poisonous, villainous cockbag without a shred of human decency or kindness, and only the brilliance of his footballing abilities coupled with the media's desire to suck off any top 4 product has covered up his true deceitful nature.

Someone give me a hell yeah...

Henry, in his interview, seems to suggest the ball hit his arm/hand and he simply played on. The ball touching your hand is a little different from the ball being caressed on purpose to keep it in play. Watch his interview and the way he laughs it all off. Wonderful example of displacement of responsibility going on. Class act is Henry.

Hell Yeah!

hey Spooky. Did you expect anything different? Most players would have handballed. Not to say I would personally. I'm Irish. Gutted, feel sick made so more by the fact Henry cheated us. But its about World Cup qualification and he got his team there.

Nov 19, 2009 at 2:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterRoyal Gooner

Henry did what most modern day footballers would do, even with all the coverage he took a risk didn't get caught by the ref and knew full well nothing would be done by FIFA.

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1136903.html#final+four+through+europe

Not a mention of it. I know Spooky is just looking to ignite a discussion on this, but he'll be the first to admit that such is life.

Anyone see Henry's interview?

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:02 PM | Unregistered CommenterJep

Are the French not world champions at Team Handball? Perhaps Henry is thinking of changing professions?

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:07 PM | Unregistered CommenterRobert Has

What a role model for young footballers.

Irish are dreaming if they think the game will be replayed.

why do people hate the french? i dont get it? i wasnt around during the napoleonic wars...so personally i can only love them for their wine, cheese and bakeries. beats the shit out of greggs and a bottle of merlot from morrisons that tastes of piss.

oh yeh, henry. what a massive self obsessed, massively arrogant, face clutching, ball carressing............... footballer

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:20 PM | Unregistered Commentergra

Maybe we are just bitter because of all that wine cheese and bakeries?

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:22 PM | Unregistered CommenterWest Stand Bagel

Henry, scratching the back of his neck, swallowing, laughing. All signs of fibbing.

I learnt that from watching Big Brother.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:24 PM | Unregistered CommenterBig Dave

Please dont get all shitty about him been French becasue you are just been racist. I am more intrigued by what will happen to him. I remember Eduardo getting banned early on in the seasson for diving after video evidence was used. so I wait with baited breath to see what happens to Henri? Fuck all I expect.

He's French ex-Arsenal, what do you people expect?

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterOops

Watching Sky Sports News, interesting question if be it obvious about what if it was the Irish handballing and knocking out the French? Would the Irish be ok for the game to be replayed? What FIFA be more vocal on the matter? I agree the Irish people would be despondent/embarrassed. Not sure the French are.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:35 PM | Unregistered CommenterLoudmouth

Henry can suck my balls. I am a man of honour and would never resort to such cheatery.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:37 PM | Unregistered CommenterThe Dark Pav

David Ginola on BBC Radio 5 Live:

"I'm very embarrassed by the situation. I don't feel very proud to be French this morning. The Irish played very well and they deserved to go through as much as France, maybe more. I'm very surprised Fifa haven't mentioned anything about it - the whole world saw the handball. This is a pure injustice. Everyone in France, the press and everyone, says there should be a replay."

If you wanted to be cynical you could say they just want to sound good and look remorseful. I think deep down, if this was England, as gutted as I would be I'll be happy to be going to the World Cup.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:38 PM | Unregistered Commenterfanz

Last game of the season....spurs need a win to qualify for the CL and Keane does the same to get us to the promised land. Would you be up for replaying the game? Forget that. No way. Them the brakes.

I hate Henry but need to put this into perspective and the idea of the game being replayed is not going to happen and to expect him to say hold on guv I cheated intentionally is just as daft.

Should Carroll of owned up to the ball crossing his goalline by 3 yards? Should carrick of owned up to gomes winning the ball? Yes and Yes but dream on if you think its going to happen.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:42 PM | Unregistered CommenterRustyNumbNuts

Fanz.

Agreed. But its a shitty thing to happen. And if you look back to 86 its not something you'd wish on anyone (other than the Argies). What grates me is the way Henry smuggly knows he will get away with it and thinks people are stupid enough to believe the ball hit him rather than him controlling it.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterOllie

Rusty, when the ball crossed the line it did so by virtue of the shot at goal and Carroll mis judging it. That was not Carroll cheating or conning anyone, the officials simply did not see it. Same with Carrick and that penalty decision. Henry controlled the ball with his hand and set up a goal. I'm not arguing that we'd all laugh it off if it was Keane doing the same for Spurs, but most of us would be hugely embarrassed and its not the way to go about business. Remember Zokora diving? Remember the booing he got for his pathetic drop? Henry knows how to play the game. And he's played a blinder for his country. But the bloke has shown himself up as a cunt.

Nov 19, 2009 at 3:47 PM | Unregistered CommenterGreg

Someone has done a number on his Wikipedia entry:

Thierry ¨Le Cunt¨ Henry (French pronunciation: [tjɛʁi ɑ̃ˈʁi]; born 17 August 1977) is a French cunt footballer who plays for Spanish La Liga club Barcelona and the cunting French national team, predominantly as a cunt.

Henry was born a cunt and remains a cunt, Essonne—a suburb of Paris—where he played for an array of local sides as a cunt and showed great promise as a cunt. He was spotted by AS Monaco in 1990 and signed instantly, making his professional debut in 1994. Good form led to an international call-up in 1998, after which he signed for the Serie A defending champions Juventus. He had a disappointing season playing on the wing, before joining Arsenal for £10.5 million in 1999; the cunt.

It was at Arsenal that Henry made his name as a cunt. Despite initially struggling in the Premier League, he emerged as Arsenal's top cunt for almost every season of his tenure there. Under long-time mentor and coach Arsène Wenger, Henry became a prolific cunt and Arsenal's all-time leading cunt with 226 goals in all competitions. The cunt won two league titles and three FA Cups with the Gunners; he was twice nominated for the FIFA World Cunt of the Year, was named the PFA Players' Cunt of the Year twice, and the Football Writers' Association Cunt of the Cunts three times. Henry spent his final two seasons with Arsenal as club captain, leading them to the UEFA Champions League final in 2006. In June 2007, after eight years with Arsenal, he transferred to Barcelona for a fee of €24 million. His first honours with the Catalan club came in 2008–09 when they won the league, cup and Champions League treble; the cunt.

Henry has enjoyed similar success with the French national squad, having won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000. In October 2007, he surpassed Michel Platini's record to become France's top cunt of all time. Off the pitch, as a result of his own experience, Henry is an active cunt against decency and fairness and honour. His footballing style and personality have ensured that he is one of the most commercially marketable cunts in the world; he has been featured in advertisements for Nike, Reebok, Renault, Pepsi and Gillette.

Players cheat in lesser games. Its no surprise if one is caught cheating in a game of bigger magnitude.

Nov 19, 2009 at 5:22 PM | Unregistered CommenterLoz

As I said on www.rumourwhores.com - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf9fx4ipF4Q&feature=related - I didn't see Robbie Keane and the FAI screaming about injustice and wanting this match replayed. Swings and roundabouts.

While I don't condone cheating, why has everybody turned into plastic paddies for? You can bet your bottom dollar that if the shoe was on the other foot and it was England knocked out by something similar that the Irish along with the sweaties and sheep shaggers would have sent out about twenty million mastercard 'priceless' emails by now and every forum would be decorated with page after page of laughing smilies. Fuck em.

Nov 19, 2009 at 6:14 PM | Unregistered CommenterChazza

Have to agree with Chazza on this. Scotland, Eire, Wales, they'd happily laugh at us if we got knocked out thanks to a hand ball, as I'msure they did when Diego scored with his hand in 86. Perhaps its because the Irish are seen as plucky nearly men and everyone dislikes the French and EVERYONE loves a bit of drama.

Nov 19, 2009 at 6:25 PM | Unregistered CommenterPaxton Yid

Henry. Its not about him being French or exArsenal. Its the way of football. Players cheat all the time, in the heat of the moment they take the risk and if they get away with it on the field of play they are unlikely to be punished off it. Even when they are, its over turned on appeal most of the time. Personally I laughed at the man audacity in his post-match interview (today). Very smug and arrogant. Its ok to hate the man for that, but in pure footballing terms, what happened happened and if it was reversed, they'd be fewer people complaining.

Nov 19, 2009 at 6:31 PM | Unregistered Commenteralt ctrl del

If it was reversed, FIFA would be arranging a replay as we speak.

Nov 19, 2009 at 6:36 PM | Unregistered CommenterGeneral Brickhouse

..... Fifa arranged the play offs favouring and seeding the percieved stronger bigger teams half way through the qualifying stages.........!

...Fifa /Eufa have ignored the calls for video technology so are responsible for maintaining the idea in football that
cheating and unfair advantage is acceptable if not seen...hiding behind a narrow view of the footbal refs status .unlike rugby, american football and their vid referees and decision process....

the idea this is acceptable in a 4 year qualifying competition is nothing but scandalous and fifa are keeping quiet
indicating a problem internally at the highest level in the sport........

Nov 19, 2009 at 7:08 PM | Unregistered Commenterbilliospur

Henry has been and will continue to be a legend not only for arsenl but for all football loving people icluding the unfortunate Irish people. No one can take it away from him for the mistake committed in 3 milliseconds.

Nov 19, 2009 at 10:07 PM | Unregistered CommenterAussieyid

Look, at a basic fundamental level he cheated. It took a handling of the ball for France to score a goal and get themselves into the World Cup. Regardless of whether pros cheat all the time in lesser games, Henry - in a massive game broadcasted around the world had the audacity to cheat to assist. Surely, regardless of his background and what he's achieved the fact is - he was guilty of a fairly scandalous piece of play that does more to prove how messed up the whole disciplinary process is as well as how the game needs to iron out these type of scenarios.

Nov 19, 2009 at 10:15 PM | Unregistered Commenterlazy larry

Brook - do one. Henry is a smug cunt of a man who obviously has no regret in what he has done. I guess it takes one to know one.

Nov 19, 2009 at 10:19 PM | Unregistered CommenterIcon

If the 'beautiful game' has become one where diving and deliberate hand-ball go unpunished and in Henry's case rewarded, then why bother having rules and regulations? . If 'gamesmanship', professional fouls or to give them their true name cheating, has become ok, what level of it is acceptable? Honesty isn't a grey thing, it's black and white, integrity once lost is gone forever. What else should we turn a blind-eye to, Is a gambling ring buying a result now acceptable? Is 'everybody's doing it', 'it's a business now' the kind of weak-willed bullshit we have grown to accept. Unless this kind of behaviour is stamped on by FIFA it runs the risk of being a circus act.

Nov 20, 2009 at 1:36 AM | Unregistered Commentersilver_spurfer

Christ, what are we saying about ourselves if we condone it?

And what of past Spurs players who had principles, like Blanchflower and Ardilles? Would you really put these footballing giants up as examples of Spurs' players who would do what Henry did if the circumstances called for it, whatever that bit of higgledy-piggledly linguistics is supposed to mean?

If the 'circumsances' ever call to someone to cheat at a football match, whatever the level, the world is one almighty sick beast.

Nov 20, 2009 at 5:26 AM | Unregistered Commentercliffyboy

Frogs, paddies, argies, blah, blah, blah. No need to throw xenophobia, nationalism, or sectarianism into the equation. The greater picture is as clear as the replay. And the replay is another defining moment for Henry, perhaps even a microcosm of his career. Henry has proven himself to be vile, yet again. So what if some gooners are apparently still desperate to share in his success, no matter how ill-conceived. Let them rationalize and hypothesize in his defense. I wish all of life's antagonists were as silly.

Nov 20, 2009 at 5:44 AM | Unregistered Commenteranonymous

This is just another example in a long line of many these days that proves that football and all that it had stood for for more than 100 years is dead and buried by the "win at all costs" mentality of big business which is really in control of football. All the time that there is big money to be made this will continue. The fact that so many people here are in the "well its football, it happens, get over it" camp is just a sad indictment of how low our game has sunk. There is no real joy left in either playing or watching the game anymore sadly. I hear people at matches regularly and incessantly abusing their own players and in a way I understand it with the sort of money paid to them people feel its their right to sling abuse when a player is percieved to not be trying or not good enough. Long gone are the days of listening to supporters shouting encouragement to their players as used to happen and this whole mentality has been spawned from the very top echelons of FIFA and UEFA for years. The sooner we get rid of the likes of Blatter and Platini and even Sky then maybe the money men will slowly drift away and we might be left with something resembling the game I used to love instead of this very poor and insipid relation we are now force fed. Sad Sad Sad. Oh and Henry is a gooner cunt of the worst kind typical of that cheating stinking bunch of gypsy cunts - COYS Muadling rant over.

Nov 20, 2009 at 9:11 AM | Unregistered Commenternomorewhlegends

Great post, nomorewhlegends, and music to my ears. But there have to be fans of the so-called top four clubs, Arsenal included, though they don't post on this site, that's for sure, who feel the same way. I can't exactly remember what it was he did now but one time when Henry was playing for Arsenal, he did something during the match that, despite his great footballing skills and talent, called into question his character. The funny thing was that not long after he appeared on the Parkinson show and with our fawning host waxing lyrical about him, you had a fine illustration of how the media has failed so miserably to do anything but endorse the sort of behaviours and attitudes now seen as being 'just part of the game'.

Nov 20, 2009 at 6:14 PM | Unregistered Commentercliffyboy

henry like other modern players instinctively do things at high speed which is EXACTLY the reason a video ref is required.....

henry is a great player and is not a cheat but admitting handball immediately would not be agreed by the current rules with so much at stake in high profile games how do you level the playing field?......let everybody get away with advantageous handball moments and dives like the great drogba.?.yet drogba was loopo in his champs league rant.....
the penalty of gomes and bent recently.looking towards a penalty which was very subtle etc...for example.....

at anytime it could happen.............still doesnt make it right though does it?....as we all watch the slow mos and judge to the truth of the contact etc......so in effect we have become the refs etc who now look at odds with the game............what i get though is the smell of politics with fifa..........

so all forwards should practice the maradonna hand of god move as the norm for winning games in the last two mins
crouch being 6.7only has to put his hand behind his head though like a rabbit so we have an an advantage!
