Apparently Jol has had a furious row with Defoe, telling him he would 'rot in the reserves' if he failed to sign a new contract. Hard decision time for Jermain. Rotting in the reserves as opposed to rotting in the first team.

Tabloid BS. Are we meant to believe that Jol would have a public outburst in full view of potential 'club insiders' about a players contract? What is also interesting is that Defoe has dismissed this yet there is no quote from the player.

Move on, nothing to see.
