If Stratford Hotspur happens, it ends there...

Guest blog by Jack aka tehTrunk.
Yes hello, you may remember me, I was the bloke what done them little cartoon things with the voices and stuff. I'm here today in a different capacity, to share my thoughts on the eerily quiet new stadium goings on at Stra...Tottenham Hotspur. I say quiet, but thankfully Karen Brady's constant barking does serve some purpose, if only in reminding us of the fact that we could well, genuinely, be leaving not just White Hart Lane but Tottenham itself.
Yeah, this could actually happen. WTF OMG?!!1! (I'm writing on the internet, it's allowed (lol))
Now, I'm not from Tottenham, I don't even live in North London. My allegiance with Spurs is the age old father son connection familiar with many football fans. You know, when dad creeps into your bedroom at night, gagging you with an Arsenal scarf in order to play hide the magic banana? Since those days, anything bearing the cannon of them lot down the road turns my stomach and reminds me of those mornings where I'd have to swagger into school like a cowboy. This then reminds me of cowboys which I also hate (I always preferred Indians). Suffice to say that sitting through Brokeback Mountain was a nightmare.
Alas, I digress.
Where was I?
Oh yes, I support Tottenham but I'm not from Tottenham, there we go.
These recent mutterings that we could be leaving Tottenham to take up residence in the Millennium Dome (er Olympic Stadium mate?!)have created a strange and uncomfortable conflict within my thoughts, much like when I catch a glimpse of Niko Kranjcar. As I've already covered but will tell you again, Tottenham isn't my home, the team Tottenham Hotspur isn't my local team so why should I care where the team plies it's trade? I don't know really, but I do.
History has always been an important part of this club, given that during the years I've supported them there has been little success, but it's been instilled into me that this is a club with heritage, with tradition. I'm sure most clubs think this way, but we support Spurs, we don't care what myths other clubs supporters perpetuate amongst themselves. We're onto a new chapter now, who knows where it goes. I'm enjoying, while it lasts, us grabbing headlines and having a squad filled with world class players, but this isn't why I support Spurs.
We all know about our cup runs, and double heroics and European glory glory nights so I'll save the maudlin mush.
Football is a business (no sheet Sherlock). It's easy to say, but it's hard to grasp what this actually means. Business' exist to make money. The chairmen, the board, they don't care about you, they don't care about me (they should care about me, I'm awesome. Not you though. D*ckhead) Does the CEO of McDonalds care that your burger doesn't look like it does in the picture on the board?
Daniel Levy is a business man. Don't ever forget that. For all his 'Spurs fan' talk, he's a business man. He's not big Dan from down the pub who wears a Spurs shirt on match days and gets asked to leave the pub when he's had a few too many and is getting loud sweary cross and scaring the couple who just popped in for an ale and glass of house white after finishing shopping, whilst he watches Spurs lose to Wolves at home (all in 3D mind). Levy, and the people surrounding him want to make money. This isn't all a bad thing, money has allowed us to assemble the squad we see before us today. Moving to the Olympic Stadium makes perfect business sense.
It's cheaper than building an entirely new stadium. It has a massive capacity. It looks well nice so will entice new fans. Having a massive, well nice stadium increases the club's prestige both at home and abroad. This will see a rise in the attendance, fan base and the type of investors and players we can attract to the club. Maybe it'll even see us become a more attractive option to a super mega rich foreign owner, who'll buy us Messi and we can win everything and be the best team in the world and even make it onto Sky Sports montages and have our players pictured on the front of the packets of football stickers found on the newsagent's counter.
Spurs, nay, football in general is entering into a dangerously vacuous and shallow era. This potential move to Stratford is a perfect example of that. Forget the history, forget about the locals, forget the name, we're going to move. We'll be Stratford Hotspur, it'll be just the same just we'll make more money and maybe win more stuff and then football will be more better, honest. Yeah, worked well for Wimbledon.
You can scream at me until you're blue faced, the endless clichés that 'we have to do it to compete', 'we want to win stuff what with City getting better now', 'Liverpool will bounce back sooner or later'. I don't care. I didn't support Spurs because they competed, because they were amazing, I support Spurs because they're Spurs. Sacrificing what we are in order to get to what we perceive is a higher level is like the bloke who ditches all his ugly best mates because he wants to be more popular with women. He's a lonely, boring, desperate tool and everyone can see it but him.
I know my thoughts don't represent those of all Spurs fans, and I don't look down on anyone for feeling differently (I really do to be honest). I just see this as one of many examples of how appalling our society is now. It's like saying that I think my mum is fat and ugly and I want a new one with less droopy wangers that way it'll reflect better on me and then I'll be happier. I don't think you're fat and ugly by the way Mummy, Trunky wuvs woo.
If Stratford Hotspur happens, it ends there for me. FC Hotspur of Tottenham or whoever else likely pops up it'll be. You can take your Gareth Bales, VDVs and whoever else and shove them. Along with your reality TV, IKEA furniture, tabloid newspapers, celebrities, Thomas Cook holidays and most of all your Sky Sports.
If all of you told Levy where he could stick his plan, it wouldn't happen, fact. But you won't.
Think on.

A nail in the coffin of Stratford?
For some, it's a brutal interrogation...

Try a couple of what if scenarios.
1. The entire Manure squad is wiped out in a Munich style air crash, except for Fergie (unfortunately), who was going to catch a later flight after watching his horse lose. The Yanks ask him what he proposes to do, and he persuades DL to sell the entire Spurs squad to Manure. How many of us would switch our allegiance to Manure?
2.It's 2012 and some terrorist has exploded a dirty bomb which makes N17 uninhabitable for years to come. The options are (1) ground share with the Arse. (2) Move to the OS. (3) Let the club die. What would you do?
Both these questions are rhetorical, and I am simply trying to point out that at the end of the day, circumstances can sometimes dictate some unpleasant choices, and the current circumstances are that we have outgrown WHL. If there was no NDP option, would there be so much opposition to the OS?
Whatever happens, I would hope that when the move is eventually made, it will be decided on the basis of the best interests of the club being paramount. Without wishing to ruffle any feathers, those who would rather see us playing in the championship than at the OS, have a different view of the best interests of the club to mine. That is not to say that we should move there.
For those of you who are saying that DL is all about the money, I have to say, that I hope you are right. because in the modern game money is what counts. DL has often been lauded by the fans, and remember he replaced Sugar, who was hated by the majority. Sugar in turn, stopped Maxwell getting his claws into us, and was also a hero at one time.
Both the OS and the NDP give us a chance to compete on level terms with not only the best in the PL, but also the best in the world. To me, that is in the best interests of the club.
The club would only have debt if they pushed ahead with the current redev. Why not relook at the NDP before giving up and choosing Stratford?
Fans of lesser clubs. Is it all about the money for them?

Just putting it out there
Personally, as someone who got mugged of by ENIC, PAYING to get on a waiting list for a season ticket that was never forthcoming I wound have said move. Im am desperate to get a season ticket - I have in effect given up and not renewed my membership this year because even getting tickets as a member is becoming increasingly difficult, I would go as far as impossible for certain games. I would opt for the bigger ground always. What the point of tradition if the majority of your fans cant enjoy it.

Just putting it out there.
After the Games I'm going to buy me an apartment in the Village to be near new ground of my bellowed Spurs :)
Westfield Group - Design and Construction are one of the firms bidding to take over athletes village housing scheme.
They have just done partnership deal with the spammer with a view of buying a 32% stake in the club.
The plot thickens!.....
So to have my final word on what has been a brutal and often inelegant debate, what it appears to come down to is both Spurs and Wet Sham fans don't want to move to the OS, but Wet Sham to do want to move there if it stops us getting in there. And the award for the most small minded fans goes to .....
Seriously though, the one thing that concerns me most about this debate is that it has the danger of tying our hands. Who remembers all the obstacles that were put in our way by Harringey and Boris Johnson when we first started the planning apps? Yet once we started talking about the OS, everything seemed to fall into place.
There have been quite a few occasions when we have waxed lyrical about the negotiating skills of DL. Try to think for s second, of the possibility that DL has no intentions of moving to the OS and is using it as a negotiating ploy to get concessions out of HBC. It's possible. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the porn boys were prepared to bung DL a few million to withdraw his candidacy for the OS. They can afford it, and it would be a cheap price to pay for them.
To be honest, I lack the arrogance of many on here and will not tell you that you are not a true fan if you support (or oppose) the move to Stratford. I am not arrogant enough to tell you that I know what is in the best interests of the club (apart from not being relegated) if you disagree with me. But I am arrogant enough to say the way some of you have conducted yourself (on both sides) would not shame a lynch mob, and if it turns out that all this is part of a negotiating ploy, you have not helped one little bit by trying to tie the club's hands at this stage of the proceedings.
Depending on who you read, the decision is going to be made sometime between the end of this month and March. Might it not be better to await the decision and then start the campaigns? After all, if we are awarded the OS, we are not compelled to take up residence. Wouldn't it be just like DL to be awarded the OS, and then tell Wet Sham, that we are not really interested, but if they want, they can rent the OS from us. We don't often come out on the wrong side of a deal when DL is at the helm. I am still marvelling at how little it cost to get rid of Ramos
Apologies for my part... I took offence with certain comments and provoked, there was never any further intent.
COYS
Dublin---
I am still in awe at how much time, money, and effort we wasted on Ramos.
To the nutter talking about the deaths of the manure squad and terrorist attacks as a way of illustrating that desperate times call for desperate measures, I'd like to remind you that we are not desperate---we are rolling in money, in the last 16 of CL, and fourth in the table (with too many quality players).
It's also disheartening to me to see how few people realize that we are adapting to a corrupt system. UEFA needs to institute UEFA-wide caps on transfer fees and wages, and mandate better revenue-sharing and more fan input. Because UEFA is also corrupt, they won't do this, but the European Parliament can, as this clearly falls within the ambit of regulating European commerce and labor laws.
Oh yeah, all we need for some corrupt politicians from totally disharmonizing political orchestra such as the EU to tell as how’s gona be. I suppose you live in US, and if you do than you know quite well that even two parties in charge cannot make a single and the most meaningless decision worth for shit, and now you’re suggesting to put our fait to 27 of them, all different and with own agenda? Get real. Until things (rules) change, we should play them to our best advantage, and not take on some ridiculous Don Quixote role.
I only read half this article and I hope we move to Stratford.
On a serious note the article is terribly short sighted over emotional and admittedly, quite sad.
Stay at WHL and we'll be forever wrapped in a mist of nostalgia and mediocraty, we will get left behind for good by Arsenal if we dont capitilise on our relative recent success. It's a miracle that we're competing at the level we're at consiering the difference in wage budgets with those around us a the top. We have a chance to go one step furthur and step up to the next level with a 60,000 seater stadium we'll be in a fantastic position to compete at the top for many years to come.
It's not a miracle that we're competing at the level we are, Francois, it's down to buying the right players and hiring the right manager. Shit, we bought players left and right and we're still profitable and thriving.
To the person disillusioned with politics---yes, I do live in the US, and I have seen a remarkable number of things accomplished through the legislative process. As distasteful as I find the EU (and would prefer that UEFA reform itself), I believe that it is capable of doing some good, especially when it comes to football and inequalities within football, something that is understood across all cultures in Europe.
Faceless Franchise FC.
Missed out on all the fun here apparantly , threatening violence , namecalling and all that
Ok my two cents , as a foreign spur i would like us to move from an purely egoistical point of view. I could visit the lane more often , with more comfort and cheaper
But i find the annual visits to the lane to be something magical , one of the highlights of my year and the ground breathes out history ... both positively as negatively (the worn out infrastructure and all that). Football has become business and just that, and i do miss the earlier days , the nostalgia that the trunk brings up in his text , the sentiments that spooky aired in his replys ... Those things make up my footballing history and rather then having the spanky new i am growing ever more attached to the nostalgic old
We had a blog entry here a few months back about our roots as a supporter and it was one of the best ever , these kind of emotions are leaving the game. It s all about shiny orange new boots , nike ads and high class hookers. Who drinks where , who fucks who and wich very talented player can be photographed with a flower in his hair ...
Messi is the exception to the superstar marketing machine that is ruling football now.
But if football is money money money then why are clubs like Blackpool even allowed to exist ?
Tottenham football club is not only about winning and prizes , it s also about style , One TV pundit in Belgium described it as following : Tottenham is a club with history , but also a fresh wind in European football because they stay true to their roots and their refreshing style of play. Attacking is the only way forward for this club and style is as important as results.
100% correct in one simple sentence.
Two clubs playing in the same London Borough. West Ham Hotspurs and West Ham United.
Spot the big fat franchise!
Or why don't we go the full hog and merge the two clubs, call ourselves Stratford City and play in the colours of White and Claret!
No one will notice!
If we moved into the OS site and West Ham went bankrupt, they might look to merge the two clubs together.
*gun to head, pulls trigger*
Merge! *gun to head, pulls trigger*
My last post had my tongue pressed firmly inside against my fat cheek.
The latest on the website is that almost all the objections to the new Tottenham stadium have been overcome; it's just Haringey to decide now. I still think the Stratford idea is a backup plan and no more. The club wants to stay in N17, so do local businesses and the fans. Once we've got the go ahead, Stratford will be left to the Hammers who must dread the prospect of a half empty ground with the supporters a million miles away from the pitch - their only edge at home is the atmosphere that a full small ground creates.
I'm confident we'll have it confirmed later this year that it's N17 and nowhere else.
P.S. Lived in North London all my life, and in Tottenham for 13 years. Finally left N17 and glad not to be surrounded by the dirt, crime, social deprivation etc, but at the same time, sort of miss it. North London dumps are so superior to East London dumps.
Terry - I hope your right and thats what I thought all the way along but I still believe we need to be very vocal (if your anti-stratford) to ensure the club knows where the majority of fans want to be N17.
If Levey pulls off a masterstroke I'll not be upset that we had to go through this. I just dont think we can afford to trust him 100% just in case.
The spirit of THFC will live on when we move to Stratford. We will be a different club, a better one, a stronger one.
We will sacrifice some of our history but I'm delighted to do so, I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing about 61' and so on, I've heard enough, we all have and it's time we all moved on.
Moving to Stratford will give us the capacity to consolodate our opsition at the very top for decades to come, we will write new histroy at Stratford, THFC will be more famous around Europe than it's ever been.
Anyone wishing to play the martyr should feel free, there will be people lining round the block to take your place.
I've refrained from anything truly personal until now, but you are a moron, Francois. How can you even think of uttering a single word about the spirit of THFC when you are "delighted" to ditch our history?
You don't get it, do you? You don't even understand the sentences you're writing---you want to move and become a "different" club, but you want to write new history for THFC? Sorry, but why would you stick with THFC when you can get rid of all that dirty, old, brain-hurting historical baggage and start afresh with a new name, like Olympique D'Stratford or whatever. It's French, which should suit you---maybe they'll even serve escargot in the luxury boxes.
Sick of '61 means your sick of history, and sick of the club. What is the game about if it is not about glory, and why have glory if you're not going to enjoy it for years to come?
If you don't like the history, Francois, you can move on to man city or somewhere equally shitty---maybe MK Dons? The history books at stadium:mk are fairly light-reading. Maybe American football is more your style, where they don't give two shits about anything---Houston Texans were founded just a couple of years ago, and are looking for fans.
The most shocking thing is that you seem to be one of a few on here that are wholeheartedly PRO-STRATFORD! Not just, "Stratford will be tough to swallow, but it must be done", but "Come, Stratford, let me suck you off".
Given there are 20,000 waiting for season tickets I doubt the new stadium will be empty if we do move. The simple fact is that with the escalating costs in Haringey it may end up as Stratford or nothing. Personally I have no love of Haringey Council and no desire to end up overshadowed by the Emirates because we can't afford to expand. My alleigance is to the team and moving 5 miles isn't going to change that.
Dont let francois or the other names such as jos, ham etc annoy you STLSpurs.
It is quite clear there all the same person using different names and the bloody bufoon who is responsible is clearly not a Spurs fan.
I will say this gooner in disguise - you are not achieving your goal of turning opinion. in fact you are helping the N17 cause with your outrageous comments.
Someone said the pro N17 petition only has 5000 signatures but in relative terms to other petitions of this nature, 5000 is a massive figure and will grow esp if the club decides to leave.
in contrast the pro stratford petition has 9 signatures - which are probably all by you the sad gooner.
We have clearly won this debate because the fans feelings count and the overwhelming majority of people on here say stay in N17
Spooky can confirm how many people the goonie has been posting as by checking the IP Addresses of these bafoons.
Go on wearen17.co.uk and access the letters to send to the mayor and Olympic commitee. the addresses are there and the full basis of the letter.
Email them to give them your support - its our central res point - enquires@wearen17.co.uk
Email the club as i have done telling them you'll cancel your st and never go again. Tell them mike lee and keith mills are NOT welcome at the club

I have alot of dialogue with LBH and their not the wankers some people make them out to be. At least they reply unlike the club. the club has approached the council in totally the wrong way to get financial assistance - lets not forget levy said the NLDP would not impact on player purchases and would leave little debt on the club. he said that when we were bottom. he said we couldnt cont. with the NLDP if we were relegated but it didnt depend on european qualification to fund it. then the economic downturn led to concrete (according to paul barber - shame people like him moved onto pastures new - costing £50m less for the project). construction costs are generally cheaper in the current economic downturn too. Then low and behold we qualify for the CL. That plus reduced contruction costs must level of roughly with the increased costs on the S106.
then after all this positive news, at the death LEVY APPROACHES THE COUNCIL and starts saying is the NLDP deliverable? What a joker and the pro stratford people are clearly either completely duped by levy or (and this is what i suspect becuase how can you fool for this 'stratford is the dream golden ticket for the club' bollox) is that your all dirty gooners.
Desperate to have North London to yourself and TOTTENHAM repeat your crime of killing a club as you did to woolich. Finally ars*nal get the justification they have been looking for, for nearly 100 years - invasion complete and THFC who you came to rival, who you have stumped over the years, now gone and dead.
NO FUCKING WAY and NO TOTTENHAM fan would ever ever want that.
BTW alot of people have posted differing views on where we are at with the council and agreements etc.
All differing permissions that are required from the council, mayor, secretary of state and english heritage have alll been granted, as im sure most of you know.
All that is left is to sign the S106 agreement with the council. My understanding is that this doesnt require a public or special meeting. i note there are some public/special meetings coming up listed on the LBH site. there was a special meeting in December 2010 that had nothing to do with tottenham, so this could easily be the case again.
The S106 had to be signed by December 17th or planning permission collapses. However using the powers distributed to the Director of Urban Environment this deadline has been extended to January 31st. The reason for this was because the S106 has now been drafted by both parties and the extra time allows both parties to look over it before signing it. Obviously im sure the reason for extending the deadline was more to do with the OS bullshit.
Thats where we are at - i have urged the council to contribute on a financial level and they tell they are doing all they can - we just have to hope this is true but levy it NO saint in all this - no f*cking way is he.
I'm a Spurs fan, I dont care if you dont believe me that's your perogotive, I actually feel sorry for you because you have a world of hurt coming your way. Those of us who understand the meaning of the word 'progress' will move to Stratford with heavy hearts but with optimism for the journey ahead. Those of us who dont will wind up going the way FC United.
I know as much about our history as any other self respecting Spurs fan, I was spoon fed it as a child, and I'll say it again, I'm sick of it! The Carling Cup victory means more than 61' ever will! You can keep wanking yourselves off about how great we were in the 60's but I wasn't there to see it for myself so forgive me for not giving a solitary fuck. Football is played in the here and now and WHEN we move to Stratford we WILL be a stronger club because of it, if anything because some of the neanderthals will have fucked off for good but mainly because we'll be able to compete with the top teams in the country for decades to come.
I'll say it again if you want to play the martyr please feel free! There will be thousands who love football and love THFC waiting to take your place, and I'll be one of them.
Either move with the times or get left behind, protest if you want (it'll make no difference) but dont cut off your nose to spite to your face, THFC is more than its geographical location, we will live on in Stratford and WE WILL be stronger because off it.
I should say the Carling Cup victory means more to me personally than 61' not that it means more objectively, obviously.
And may I also say that it goes a long way to demonstrate the ‘no to Stratford Hotspur movement' that anyone who disagrees is, without doubt, a Gooner or, at the very least, 'not a real fan'.
These blogs attract only a certain demographic and I'm pleased to say that it is not representative of Spurs fans as a whole.
You are not a spurs fan - you are a prick.
I havent mentioned 61 at all.
Stratford will not be this dream ticket to success and N17 does not mean we dont progress - this is the main basis of your argument yet no one agrees that this will be the case. That is your argument and it is flawed.
Nothing wrong with going the way of FC United by forming FC Hotspur of Tottenham - yes we will be in the combined leagues and progress MAY MAY be slow but we'd rather follow Tottenham than stratford because we are TOTTENHAM fans. not stratford E15 fans.
I disagree we can do nothing about it - you tell that to winston churchill and gandhi 'hey boys why bother, you cant win'. your a real prick mate and i fucking hate you.
im sure in time SHFC will get fans to replace us but mate there's no guarantee this SHFC will be world conquering, which is what you keep saying - keep saying it but no one believes it.
We will be replaced but not forgotten because the real spurs that make all the noise will be at Tottenham Marshes.
FC Hotspur of Tottenham will be renowned more than you fucking stratford fc with fans like francois the cunt!
check his ip address spooky - its the same cunt as the others before him.
I rest my case, what an enlightened soul you are!
And Spooky please do check my IP, if only for the purpose of proving to this Neanderthal that maybe, just maybe, he hasn't got it all sussed out.
Enjoy FC Hotspur of Tottenham! If you dont mind I'll be roughly five East supporting my childhood team with 55,000 other TRUE Yids.
Francoise. You may not be a gooner but you are still a total c**t.
So Chaps. When we win our next major trophy, being realistic the FA CUP, in what borough do we parade the
Glittering Prize?
Just put a pic up on the internet for all those fans in Singapore.
Lol :-) You actually sound David Lammy. Honestly, you say anybody who can see the positives from the move is a gooner. Im starting to think your fucking agenda is haringey, because lets be honest without THFC theres no Tottenham - Not the other way round like most of you chumps believe - Our club will be fine if we move. Haringey wont be so lucky. Were you expecting big kick backs along the way? lol
Made up a couple of songs for us to sing when we takes our brand new shiny seats in the OS.
WE ARE STRATFORD, WE ARE STRATFORD, WE ARE STRATFORD FROM THE LANE
WE ARE STRATFORD, WE ARE STRATFORD, WE ARE STRATFORD FROM THE LANE
If your wondering where the Lane is, West Ham Lane, 2 mins walk from Stratford Station.
WE'RE NOT TOTNAM, WE'RE NOT TOTNAM, WE'RE NOT TOTNAM ANYMORE,
WE'RE NOT TOTNAM ANYMORE!
No chubb i am not anything like lammy. i have been on the councils back for months for example - lammy clearly hasnt.
i dont say that everyone who sees any positives in stratford is a gooner. there ARE positives for going to stratford.
What doesnt go inside your heads is that even if stratford GUARANTEED a 100k capacity version of the beautiful stadium in the proposed NLDP with the most amazing atmosphere; even if straford meant messi, ronaldo and kaka signed as part of the deal on frees; even if stratford meant the OPLC gave us £999b to spend on players; even if stratford meant we would win the next 5 billion PL and 5 billion CL and 5 billion FA Cups; even if stratford meant arsenal had to be shut down as part of the deal.
I WOULD STILL SAY NO FUCKING WAY
Because we are TOTTENHAM hotspur from NORTH london
NOT stratford from EAST london
i will not sanction my beloved TOTTENHAM to cheat or do anything morally wrong to obtain success and this is morally wrong on the highest fucking plane.
You stratford supporters are willing to do this for the POSSIBILITY of 10% of the above.
im sorry if you dont like it but IMVHO that makes you scum.
"im sorry if you dont like it but IMVHO that makes you scum."
And that is what makes your opinion worthless.
No it doesnt
Lets not even respond to Francois. He is having fund in his own little world putting across such retarded arguments that nobody will believe he is a Spurs fan.
Next home game I'll make it to will be Bolton I reckon but think I'll try starting a song...
To the tune of Dogface Whinehouse:
They want to make us move to Stratford - but we say no, no, no
And repeat...
Any takers?
This has made great reading guys. I've just got everything crossed the NDP goes ahead as planned and that Levy really is the negotiating genius we're hoping he is.
Whilst Francois makes the odd good point I believe " :-) "'s abuse may have been worthy for once! Saying the history means nothing. It's the epitome of glory. Why do anything great if not to be remembered? Silly thing to suggest. I know it's not strictly relevant today but it's not worthless.
One thing I am certain of is that it will be good to finally get some answers in the weeks to come. In the meantime you've got to admit this is one hell of a tasty subject to discuss. Shame it's ended up being so dividing though. Although the majority, thankfully, are still pro N17.
"I'm a Spurs fan, I dont care if you dont believe me that's your perogotive, I actually feel sorry for you because you have a world of hurt coming your way. Good shout, Frankie
To those who thinks they can run Tottenham Hotspur better than Levy, you should buy over the club and I can watch you degenerate the club. I am sure he would have done all he can overcoming all natures of obstacles he could have possibly encountered. He ran the club as efficient and as effective as it could be. Yes, he did made a few mistakes but hey, we're only human, aren't we?
Forget about the tradition, forget about the history for a moment. Wouldn't you want to watch Spurs be as BIG & successful as the rest of the megarich clubs in the world like MU, Madrid, Milan & Bacelona. I like to believe this club can be among the best and thinking of Spurs 5, 10 or 20 years into the future ..... the move to the Olympic Stadium (if it happens) would be justified at the end of the day.
"Lol :-) You actually sound David Lammy. Were you expecting big kick backs along the way? lol"
My thoughts are on the same line. This desperate and abusive tweet must have some property or something and a plan to extort silly money from DL and Spurs for it if the redevelopment NC project remains the sole option for Spurs, and try to disguise his agenda under some “real” Spur fan. Never trusted or shared a pint with soles like him and never will. And this is IMVHO.
The reasoning of the opinions expressed re pro and contra possible move to Stratford reminds me on the basic difference in characters between cats and dogs. While all dogs are loyal to the master (in this case Hotspur FC) and are ready to follow him/her no matter where and at no matter cost and consequences, great majority, if not all of cats are bound to the house where they expect to be fed as usual. They don’t give flying fuck about their masters/owners/feeders. Could it possibly be that the reason dogs instinctively don’t like cats is their ability to see them as cheating pretenders and as such don’t want them near their master? Under this logic I am a dog thru and thru and will follow my Spurs wherever they decide to go. Hate fucking cats.
beetleblues, you're neither a dog nor a cat. You are a greedy, fat, stinking pig, who should never be allowed in Tottenham again.
The same applies to all the other turncoats who want sell Tottenham and its club in the false name of progression. You're no longer welcome.
I see people are still trying to justify the move as the only way for us to survive. What a load of absolute bollocks.
Club has spent around £50M on the Northumberland Redevelopment Project. That's a lot of money to flush down the toilet and turn out attention across to Stratford. We had a clear vision of what we wanted to build in N17. We then redesigned it to take into consideration the listed buildings which turned out fine as I think the new design is better than the original. We have gone through the process of having it all signed and sealed and approved. It's done. Extra costs are not exactly unexpected and I can not believe for a second that Levy did not pencil in for these. To suggest he hasn't, which he has himself, I find very suspect.
Also if the Premier League follow their supposedly regimental rules, we would not be allowed to move to Stratford as the area is considered to be Orients and at a lesser extend, West Ham's. Or will the colour of money win out again?
How about downsizing the N17 plan. Not the capacity, but all the other redevelopments around the ground. Two fingers up at Haringey who seem to want us to pay for everything off our own backs without support. Or is someone going to tell me it's not possible because we've had it all approved 'as is'?
