Anthony Lozano

Morning.

Quick post, couple of things. Firstly, Kenwyne Jones. £8M to Stoke City. Absolutely no dis-respect meant to the Potters but lolololol at this. Sunderland's Drogba on the cheap. You have to really look back and facepalm when we allegedly bid for him and they wanted £20M+. Players of the moment are just that. In the moment, form of their life, until they level out and settle at their true playing standard. In this case, decent at times but mostly inconsistent. £15M burnt on Bentley stops me from going any further with this.

Second thing is this:

Anthony Lozano. Honduran. 17 years old. On a 10 day trial in N17. The Promise of new Honduran soccer, apparently. Obviously our recent track record with kids hasn't exactly been great. What with dos Santos and his attitude, Adel and his delusions etc. Let's say he impresses and we sign him. Any ideas if he's 'one for the future' thus, we wont see him in the first team for untold years if ever? Or does he play a part early on? Bostock is out on loan to Hull. So this kid has to be special special special for it to mean anything for the immediate future.

We live in hope.

For every 10 wonderkids we sign, 1 will make it, another on the bench and 8 out the back door within two years. Good luck Lozano, you may need it chap

Serves Sunderland right, a loss of £6 million is a valuable lesson for a club that thinks they are bigger than what they are..Stoke will also soon find out about paying over the odds about standard players, Spurs,Newcastle, Villa and alike should be great examples for anyone, at least Spurs seems to have hit it right with ENIC and Mr Levy who learnt from his major mistakes and recovered extremely well to put Spurs where they are now, Bentley and Jones might look similar cases but Bentley was a tried and tested player with good pedigree, coming from one of the best youth set ups in the world, played for england also produced some excellent performances in 2 seasons with Blackburn, he just couldnt handle the pressure and didnt have time to adjust, so a lot different than Jones.

Sold to spurs? As the magazine says. But only for a 10 days loan? That doesn't add up.

Can't win Jones for £20m+ they really did miss out on a golden opportunity there.

That's not easy to do.

If the lad is not costing a lot up front and its on appearances etc then any young prospect is worth a chance, the good thing is Harry has shown that with the right attitude and application to training that the players can come in from the reserves/u21s and stake their claim. pre season has seen game time for livermore/parrett/gio/obika and more. there s a lot of potential there and I believe we will lean on these kids in the cups and when needed.

re Jones - delighted we didnt part with 15m for him, we ve seen how it gets punted to Crouch in desperation sometimes and Jones would have been the same story. we know the money is there to spend but with Levy and Harry only willing to pay the right money for players I think we can say we ve seen the last of the Dean Richards, and rebrov's...

On another note , my fellow countryman Vincent Kompany wants to leave City for one of the english CL qualifiers ... anyone reckons he might be a player for the mighty spurs ?

oh dear he we go again the next Zidane is just round the corner........
the same corner that ....Hamdaoui,Taraabt,Bostock,Livermore,Davenport,Routledge,Mbezela,Dervitte Naughton,Walker etc went round presumably
Of course you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find a princess.........unless your Crouch and do it in reverse.

In the ancient tradition of Bobby Smith and Maurice Norman, our most senior players ie Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Ledley are beacons of excellence for the Younsters to follow with regard to er off- field behavior. Best of luck in your 10 day trial at WHL Anthony. COYS

the difference this time is he has his countries idol already there in Sgt Wilson to help him settle. Surely he comes recommended and if he has the same attitude as Sgt Wilson then he has a chance of making the grade

We could do with a prodigy type player, ala Rooney, a player breaking into the side at 17/18.

We could also do with a couple of seasoned 25/26/27 year olds.

Anyone for Ireland?

Kenwyne Jones is about 6 foot 6 isn´t he? I can see Rory Delap being top assister this season. All he has to do is throw the ball as hard as possible against his head

Bit nervous about later on
