There we were, now here we are

There we were, now here we are
All this confusion, nothing's the same to me
There we were, now here we are
All this confusion, nothing's the same to me

I can't tell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so new to me
I can't tell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so new to me.

What I heard is not what I hear
I can see the signs but they're not very clear
What I heard is not what I hear
I can see the signs but they're not very clear

So I can't tell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so new to me
I can't tell you the way I feel
Because the way I feel is oh so new to me.

This is confusion, am I confusing you?
This is confusion, am I confusing you?
This is peculiar, we don't want to fool ya
This is peculiar, we don't want to fool ya

(Come on, come on...)
Yeah yeah yeah

As a lifelong Spurs fan (first match 22nd April 1969), this is THE best result and THE best night since 23rd May 1984 ... other fans will know what I mean ... I won't be able to sleep tonight ... we have saved football from the money men ...

Just saw Levy on sky sports news. Didn't recognize him for a minute cause he was...smiling. Grinning actually. Looked like an honest to God Tottenham supporter. It was strangely...nice. Didn't think he had it in him. Glad to be wrong.

Everything seems a little surreal at the moment. Blew out my voice at the pub. Soothing my soar throat with champagne now I've made it home.

God, sometimes, sometimes, there's nothing better in life than Tottenham Hotspur.

Thanks, guys.

So much to say but everyone else says it better. So they're not forgotten, thank you to Kabul, such an early yellow but persevered, dominated in the air and made the crucial pass. Maybe not first choice (yet) but deserving great thanks. Same to Nico, and as well to Seb Bassong. Not here today but not here without them. That's one great thing about a razor-thin finish. Everyone on the team must know that it wouldn't have happened without them - every point counted. Proud, exhausted, blotto. What a great day!

I feel strange. Where's that horrible feeling of despair. The complete emptiness that arises when we know we were so close but fucked it up again. As a fan of 15 years, this is the absolute pinnacle of my time following the club. New ground. New territoty. WHAT A NIGHT. I don't think 4 men have ever gone more mental than we did.
Just hope we get olympiakos in the qualifiers.

My first signing would be Balotelli from Inter. he's a beast and could be the scary an to lead our line that we've been after for ages.

May 6, 2010 at 12:45 AM | Unregistered CommenterFox Mulder

Wow. And to think my whole fucking office laughed at me when I said we'd get 4th the day after the Pompey semi. I love this club. Well done to one and all. Cheeky bid for torres now? Let's keep it going lads. Collective hive mind thing. Positive vibes for next season.

We WILL finish third it's obvious this season has been fucking amazing with the many highs and some lows and all the debate and nervousness etc so to finish it 3rd with a last minute fulham goal will be fucking cunts.

Citeh will lose to the spammers too.

Stick it up yer prolapsed bucket anus lawro you fucking gobshite and all you arsenal non cheering cunts.

I love you all guys. You made me laugh/angry in equal measure this season on this blog so thanks and I'll not lurk anymore. I'll join you all. We are one.

to be fair i had a few congratulatory texts from gooners. The one watching the game with us gave the most obvious put down - "i love how novel it is for you. we are in it every year."
I promptly pointed out that there's no glory in being perpetual also-rans and then kicked him out of my house for being a cunt. some people honestly

Who's with me that we can take 3rd place? Arsenal doesn't have the form and we do. We just need to punch 11 goals in beyond Burnley just in case they get a draw, not that big an ask if you ask me.

I still can't believe we've done it. It is totally unbelievable. After the shocking FA Cup exist I came very very close to abandoning supporting Spurs. For 3 days I refused to read about Spurs or football in general. I tried very hard to hate football but I just kept replaying the semi-final loss in my mind. The following Wednesday, NLD day, I kicked myself out of the funky mood and reminded myself that this is Super HotSpurs. We don't do things the easy way. We dominated the match we lost so there will be no reason why we can't take the ARSE apart. Sure enough the boys went ahead produced a magnificent performance, not only against the Le ARSE, but against the Cokeskis as well.

Today, I can't be anymore proud to be a Yid. COYS.

Ruel - Aye mate, aye. It's the end of the rainbow.

May 6, 2010 at 1:46 AM | Registered Commenterspooky

Simply brilliant.

Everyone has played a part, and it feels good to be a Spurs fan today.

Kaboul has made RB his place to lose. Crouch has stepped up even BAE has grown. But if we want to reach the group stages, we will need to change. JD must learn the offside rule, Pav must learn to finish and not simply shoot at goal instinctively without hesitation and I was shocked at Hudd's petulant stamp; could easily have been a red. We won't be so lucky against some canny French or Italian side.

Now that we have made it to this cherished position we must stay here for a long time. City Villa Liverpool and Everton will be back with a vengence next season. We must build key areas of the team in the summer.

Here's to reaching 3rd spot and banish L'Arse to the playoffs.

COYS! Got up at 5 this morning in Melbourne, Aus to watch an unbelievable performance by the boys. All credit to Harry and team selection. Daws, King, Bale awesome as usual. Specail praise to Kaboul the last fortnight and all the others this year who have shone when called for. Kranjar, Bassong, BAE, Mods, Hudd, Pav, Lennon, Defoe and Crouch tonight when it mattered.

Come on Fulham stick it up the ArseSmell and do us a favour!

Still shaking as I type this at work.

So now we can look forward too:
1. None of Red Noses tap-ups having any impact
2. None of those needing to re-sign being able to cite any reasons related to ambition (Bale)
3. The Awesome Tottenham Garage Sale: JJ, Hutton, etc
4. Shopping at Europes best leagues and teams

I can't wait for next season to field the kids in the League Cup. This is just so fucking awesome, and to think what we might do with our best XI out there. Mag-ic.

Spurs have been fantastic this season, I'm so glad we got what we derserved this evening! It was just an amazing feeling when the full-time whistle went. We have waited for this moment for years. History has been made this evening for Spurs. Crouch was out of this world, some of the skill he showed was world class. King was calm and played like a dream, all of them did so well. Harry you have been amazing since you took over Spurs, he has collated more points in the Premier League then we've ever seen before. All of the fans love ya to bits! Where are the couple of fools who used to say Harry should be out, we will finish 7th! Crouch is useless? I remember those posts.
Well you've been shown up tonight haven't you? In fact you've been shown up all season so have a long hard word with yourselves before you write such crap again. Up the Spurs, you really did do us proud tonight. Godbless! I'm off to bed! Yesssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!! We did it!

now we only have to survice the qualify phase of the CL to get a taste of the real stuff ... What a massive result , to beat your direct opponent in the race for 4th on their own pitch ... and the fact that the opponent it is the botomless money pit Man City who did attract the kind of players that are CL worthy because of the ridiculous wages ...

No more Sky top 4 ... the future is ours , the future is lillywhite

May 6, 2010 at 8:28 AM | Unregistered Commenterbelgian spur

i <3 spurs. fucking awesome game. king was INSANE-O. Kaboul looked incredible. Bale was a terror. Modric and Hudd did enough. Hudd was REALLY lucky not to get the red, but De Jong certainly was kicking him from the ground first. Kings goal shoulda stood. The bellamy-redknapp celebration was wierd, i think he was trying to signal some intent to come and play for our club (awesome mind games harry). Toure was immense i thought. Ekotto as well, had to deal with two somewhat different but excellent wingers and did a smashing job of it. CROUCH, what can you say! He was unbelievable! We finally played him in on the ground a bit and he showed what he is capable of! I think the best is yet to come from him! His hold up play was ridiculous. BAE and Bale is our starting left side next year. Dawson was energetic and enthusiastic; King was IMPERIOUS. defoe did ALOT of very necessary running. GOMES = THE FRIENDLIEST MOST BAD ASS OCTOPUS-GOALIE HYBRID ALIVE. Bale scared the living shit out of me with that accidental deflection; lennon should have played him in instead of shooting from the middle.

city now face some tough times. i have great respect for their fans who have gone through some extraordinarily lean times but i do not like how and where they got their money one bit. have fun keeping your current bunch: the wolf is at the door. tevez is a scary man. de jong is a dirty bastard that tries to wind players up with cynical play. adam johnson was a bargain for 6m quid. last but not least HARRY REDKNAPP YOU ARE AMAZING MAN! relegation zone to 4th in 18 months true to life miracle worker status.

Harry especially deserves praise for succeeding even when critics were slating his decisions at every turn.
