A proper wtf transfer moment
So. Let me get this right. Pompey owe Spurs money (£1M) for a player that never actually signed and played for us because he rejected the deal. This is thanks, apparently, to a sell-on clause that was part of a two player deal to bring Begovic (the player in question) and Kaboul. You still following? The latter signed, the former went to Stoke instead.
So to clarify. We are owed one million pounds (little finger to edge of mouth) for a player who did not agree to complete the deal his club and Spurs shook hands on.
Two things.
1) Portsmouth. I guess this was Harry's doing, right? Right? Massive epic fail.
2) Daniel Levy. Genius.
Insanity that laughs in the face of logic, then rips its face off and wears it as a scarf. It's a bit like Liverpool purchasing Robbie Keane for £20.3M and us taking him back for £12M. Madness, just madness.
Oh wait up...
Update time.

Ah, now that feels better, doesn't it?

bit off topic...
20 goal scorers this season in all comps
12 with 2 or more
8 with 3 or more
3 with 10 or more
89 total... already more than last year and we played lots more games last year
also special note... Kranjcar has been fantastic and his season ending injury has been under played IMO i think we can make up for his loss, clearly. but hes been phenomenal and we should let him know it. all im saying
I suspect that the real reason Kaboul was bought back was to avoid us losing money on him. And didn't Begovic show up for a physical the same day as another keeper we've been trying to sign for three windows, but who is injured. I just can't believe that it all went wrong in 18 months. Shocking. COYS
its not a sell on clause.
Spurs agree a fee for 2 players, Spurs pay Pompey for the 2 players.
One then agrees to sign for a different team.
Pompey then have to pay back spurs for the player that didn't sign,

Oh look. Spurs and Man Utd play on the weekend. Bale almost went to Man Utd when leaving Southampton. Ryan Giggs is Welsh and old.
I know.
Bastards. Please sign the lad to a long term deal Levy.
Robomonkey's gonna rape Right back Ratty.
Let me see if I can explain it alittle better. Portsmouth needed desperate cash and quick. Spurs agreed to buy Kaboul and begovic, the fee for kaboul wasnt enough to cover portsmouth desperation, so we overpaid on Kaboul by a mil (it was more about using a contractual loophole to assist Portsmouth in thier financial struggle), and would underpay on Begovic by a mil. When Begovic didnt sign, we had merely overpaid on Kaboul and so the mil is due to come back to us.
also worth a note that with Jenas back, the confidence sponge that he is, we should see him at his best when those around him are at thier best.
Jenas isn't going to get a look in for the rest of the season.... other than warming his arse on the bench.
don't even go there smiley...
Check out the Manchester evening news for the Bale story,, all the manc's on the message board are up in arms about how we fleeced them for Carrick and Berbatoss,, ha ha how quick they forget that old red nose is a tap up merchant
Come on Daniel Levy. Go for an injunction to stop Portsmouth playing in the FA Cup final then do what is necessary to have them thrown out of it and us reinstated. You know it makes sense.
It`s not a sell on clause ! We paid for begovic upfront, he then turned us down and joined stoke, therefore the 1m we paid we are owed because we have no begovic to show for it simples.
Good to read the clubs clarification and that we have not kicked Pompey while they were down as the original story claimed. Surprised some fans were ok with it and glad thfc operates to higher standards as the club statement points out.
