How do you solve a problem like Keano?
Why do people persist in reading so much into pre-season games? Ok, so we lost 2-0 to Celtic who fielded a team of reserves. We didn’t pass particularly well or finish chances with any ruthless killer instinct. We defended poorly and played with little confidence. We still spent most of the game with possession and had far more chances on goal than they did. So as disappointing as it might appear, it wasn’t as bad as it seems the morning after. For a start, the team that lined up isn’t exactly our first eleven is it? Especially the centre-back pairing. Dear God, that centre-back pairing...
Analysing individual performances in this type of game is also a redundant exercise. Much like salivating over the 5-0 thrashing of Roma this time last year. Remember the hype that followed? There were plenty of people leaving White Hart Lane that day believing the swashbuckling style of play was a preview of the season ahead. And what did we get instead? Two points from eight games. Could be worse I guess. We could be losing 6-1 to Orient with our strongest eleven.
The mentality of the players is vital and yes, it would be nice if they comfortably asserted themselves in these type of games to prove they are heading for the opening game with a bit of a swagger - but as long as they play well when it matters I couldn’t give a toss about a nothing game(s) at Wembley that cost around £70 to witness. Harsh on the wallet that.
I’m pretty sure this was our first pre-season defeat for a few years which proves how it counts for very little. And as for individual performances (like I said, I’m not going to read too much into them) I’ve been impressed with Livermore, Naughton and Bostock. Not so much Dervite. Livermore could be involved for us this season. Bostock has a while to go, but roll him out for the Carling Cup. As for Naughton. Let's hope we take care of the lad and he doesn't end up doing a Gunter. And elsewhere (away from Wembley), should we even bother to lick our lips at the prospect of welcoming back wildcard Giovani dos Santos who picked up the ‘player of the tournament’ award for Mexico, brushing aside a USA b-team 5-0 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final? Adel has gone out on loan. Something tells me Harry will do the same with Gio.
There is still no clear indication of anything yet. Hence the weary sluggish impatience.
But there is one player who has looked decisively average for a rather prolonged period of time, so long that you wonder if he can recover from his hibernation. This particular concern stretches back across the summer months and all the way to the last Jan window. So we can read far more into it than 90 minutes against Scotlands second best team.
I’m obviously talking about our Irish Windmill, Robbie Keane. He doesn’t even point and wag his finger with the same accomplished moan that endeared us for so very long. Liverpool, it would seem, destroyed his confidence. Can’t be easy knowing you are not good enough for a Top 4 side. Even worse when you find yourself wondering what if the gaffer had played me in position rather than out of it? We only signed him because Defoe got injured. It's all very apologetic.
No whispers of anyone wanting a punt on him and considering how difficult we are making it for anyone to sign Darren Bent, I doubt Keane will be sold off – at least not until January if he’s left warming the bench with Defoe banging them in alongside Crouch.
I guess this is where our frustrations sit at the minute. We can’t really take a guess on how we’ll start without knowing who exactly will line-up as Harry’s first-team eleven. And if Crouch does sign (looking likely) then Robbie’s depression might take him into a state of coma.
A major priority has to be to kick-start Robbie Keane back to his pre-Anfield form. We need all our players buzzing for the new season. How we manage to get Keano back to his best remains the biggest challenge for Harry. Unless there is no way back and the lad is in unrecoverable decline. His failings are far more evident since his return due to the decimation experienced under Rafa. The impatience of Spurs fans is a given thanks mainly to the fact that we turn on players pretty quickly (in this case, it’s more to do with the fact that Robbie left us in the first place and returned with his tail between his legs).
How do we rejuvenate him? Or is this tainted love?
All we can do is wait and hope. Personally, I don’t have a clue other than taking him aside and slapping him across the face, shaking him vigorously and telling him to get a grip and start believing again.
I’m available if Harry needs me to have a word. For a reasonable fee of course. Happy to slap Pascal around for free.

the lack of leadership on the pitch is what scares me! i don't care about losing pre-season matches as long as the players get a chance to sprint around, brush up on their skills, their touches and passing. we definitely shouldn't read too deeply into this. but leadership is what is missing; some of the plays on the pitch looked chaotic and we have our older more experienced players looking around for an answer. that's what worries me.
COYS!
I enjoyed reading this article - think you're spot on on a number of points.
I'd like to think that Keane just needs a couple of goals to get going - he's been through poor patches before and come out the other side. Worryingly, a lot of Spurs fans on forums and at WHL seem to be turning on him a little, which is the last thing he needs.
I hope he turns things around, because he is one of few players capable of scoring or creating from out of nothing for us.
leadership = pat vieira
Keane just needs to get on with things, he still thinking about Liverpool I bet and what happned there
Get in Vieira. He will sort them...
dont reaily care about keanos form as long jd put the ball in the back of the net
The funny thing about keane and defoe is i remember when defoe first signed for spurs and played with keane...it looked like a match made in heaven....keane working his socks off and defoe knocking them in..i think keane scored one and defoe scored 2....but now they cant play at all together...i think bent and keane both have to go....i think pav is a good player just needs time and i recon him and defoe will play well together!! I never rated crouch...its not really his ability even though he is slow and weak with little skill but the football teams play with him...long balls giving away possestion!his goal record aint that good either never scored more than a dozen goals in a season!! i think we should just bite the bullet and buy either hunteller or the very highly rated podolski who everyone forgets that we wanted him last season and would be an excellent signing and would work well with defoe...would probably score 20 ish goals aswel....Bayer munich might sell him as they have klose gomes and toni! Harry rednapp annoys me greatly as he thinks hes managering portsmouth!buying crap players or been linked with oldies past there sell buy date! we still need a left midfielder! huddleston, jenas, keane, bent, chimbonda, bentley, o'hara (maybe) could all quite happily leave
If the Wembley Cup taught us anything it was that certain players have had their time in the Lilywhite shirt. Huddlestone, Chimbonda & O'Hara were terrible yesterday and O'Hara was probably the worst SPurs player over the course of the 2 games. I like him 'cos he's one of us and it would tear me apart if I was sold by my boyhood club but the boy's rubbish.
Livermore did more running in his first 15mins than Huddlestone had in 60mins. Huddlestone's lazy, sure he looks svelt at the moment but how much longer can we tolerate his 45min 'hollywood' passing cameo's. Time has come for Hudd to be sold on and become someone elses conundrum.
Chimbonda....... Paired with a 21 year old kid at CB yesterday he should have been looking to help the lad through his first start at Wembley. Instead he left him to it and at one point yesterday he even started having a go at Dervitte that led to an argument. What an idiot!
Another thing yesterday proved is that we need a leader out on the pitch. That is why Harry's trying to sign Vieira, I for one hope we sign him, his experience will no doubt help improve Wilson Palacios' game and players like Livermore and Bostock will learn huge amounts from him.
Welcome to Peter Crouch too. I think he's a good signing. He's a player whose style means he is able to link-up with Defoe & Keane aswell as Pavyluchenko. As JD pointed out he'll be an invaluable player to have away from home when we need the ball to 'stick' up top. I'd also like to see Huntelaar arrive but unless we get rid of Pav that's not going to happen is it?
I sincerely hope we improve for the West Ham game on Wednesday. I couldn't stand losing to them even if it is a pre-season friendly!
COYS
Think you underestimate the quality of the five youngsters that came on including Rose who you don't mention.
Ive just blogged on the lines that if we are going to be midtable I'd rather be entertained by some skill and enthusiasm and some hope for the future than by importing a few grizzled old pro's to supply this 'backbone' we are supposed to be missing.
Its not backbone, its heart we are missing and these youngsters had it.And the skill to make it work.
Dervite needs a mentor with him like Dawson had when he first came on the scene..
Maybe so, but mugs like me who DID pay £40 to see then would appreciate them putting in a bit of a frigging effort.
Qspurs
Podolski left Bayern Munich for Cologne this summer
JimmyG2 - I was really impressed with the younger players. Bostock, Livermore, Rose & Naughton (looking to be a good signing IMO) all looked confident and assured. Looking forward to seeing more of them in the 1st team squad this season.
in both games we played better in the secound half when the youngsters were given a shot..livermoore bostok naughton etc...shame we havent got a sporting director anymore i miss the exciting young talent they bought to the club...e.g. carrick, lennon, berbatov. I like giovanni and taarabt aswell they put alot of effort in....we deseratly need a strong CB
one of the rare good articles i've read about keano. Makes a change to the morons who just post 'get rid of the irish w**ker !'
Totally agree, with some confidence he'll be just fine. People just need to get over the fact he left first time, time to move on !!!!!
Thank god your back to reestablish some sanity and humour, agree completely with comments about turning on players to quickly, we are supporters and by the definition should get behind our guys even if form drops. We are only pre season and this time is not so much about results or performance but about getting miles under belt and getting touch back but this takes more than a couple of games, we looked all over the place because our midfield were trying to make up for the lack of a back 4, actually that should be no Central defenders the right back Naughton looks ok as was Hutton and BAE looks good. Think Bostock looks good lets not forget Glenn Hoddle was only 17 when he started and Livermore and Rose showed the future is ok. If a player is not showing signs by 21 however someone needs to throw an arm around the shoulder and say Dervitte I mean Lad you aint gonna make it sunshine.
.... there seems to be a trend in putting keane out ,but really his issue may be a few games to sort his preperation..
no point in slagging him off as is counterproductive .....
redknapp has to keep him right in his mind.........
....as stated spooky.... the presseason is evaluation.....nothing else ,Viera is a leader type so for me the very thing we will need when it gets tougher next season its in him naturally.....
i think the loan of tarabt and others should be considered la liga clubs as well as english league to improve technical aspects in the youngsters as was on show with shown with The barcelona squad .......
for me the ace in the pack is de santos ... who id like to see be more in the frame , hes getting on with it for mexico......wondering why harry is not convinced? left side?
Spot on, good article. Particularly agree the Celtic game looked more exiting when the youngsters were on.
Martin Jol interview this weekend at the Amsterdam Tourni - he reckons Keane has been by far our best and most important player since he arrived (the first time). Jol got us two 5th place finishes, so maybe he knows whats best.
Well blow me down a fansite on news now that actualy sounds like a genuine fan on top of his game with reasonable well thought out argument and good points ( Especially ref slapping Cimbonda )although i thought he came out of Sundays game looking better than I ve seen him for ages.I should say i was seven pints of London Pride the worse for wear by this time!
Robbie is such a talent and the Liverpool move does seem to have had a shocking effect on him, but class will out in the end and he will come good again i am sure.
What concerns me is Harrys remarks that Central defenders "are not on the radar".Ledley and Woodys injury problems are the stuff of legend and if replacements are not on the radar they should be and soon to.
Viera? I d rather not thanks not because he is ex Arsenal , but more the fact that he is 33 and has he got the pace ,energy and enthusiasm for a long british winter campaign?I accept he would be great in the dressing room and could command respect of the younger players but its more on the field of play that we have the issues.
Qspurs u chat bull ! Podoski dont play for Bayern S**t C*kc
I love this blog. And I don't even know why. Maybe its because it comes out clearly on the issue of that central defence pairing that embarrased the hell out of us in this 'friendly'. I think the due is cast on Dervitte. He is USELESS!!! Call me fickle, but it doesn't take that long to smell real genuine crap, yes, even in a meaningless friendly. I heard he wanted to go back to France? please god.
O'hara is really the true defination of modern Tottenham Hotspur, isn't he? He depicts wrong decisions, favouritism, and all the ills that ail our dear club. How someone like that can still get to play while we chase away Taarabt and Giovanni can only be explained by gooner black magic. Are we cursed? Read nothing into pre-season at your own peril, but when you see Palacios and fatlestone line up for us in the middle away to Aston Villa, and when the goal of the season is scored against us by an average player skipping past 5 Spurs defenders from the midfield, you will remember the Wembley 'friendly'. We are truly far off and Harry Redknapp has really been found out. We have truly declined to new lows. We are fulham, yes we are now Pompey, we are Hull City, those are the kind of teams that belong with our Harry.
So Bostock, the only promising player from the youngsters pack yester-weekend will be loaned? Great! I would favour him any day over fat huddlestone.
PS: If Hutton is going to play right back then we might as well sell Aaron Lennon. He completely kills him. I did'nt think we did that badly on that wing last year with Charlie and Lennon. Why change it? The previous year, before Hotton got injured, we were pants on that wing and Lennon was being replaced by...whats his name? ehhh, Bentley. Charlie came in and Lennon was world class. Clever Tottenham will now go back to the horrible Hutton days. Someone help us .....
yer ive ben told he dont play for munich....dont follow german leagues that much no that when i seen him play hes been fantastic! this sites for opions not people who just wants to slag other peoples opions off...who dont have any opions them selves
If we start well then Harry has to play the 'kids'. In a side brimming with confidence they will settle in fine. Throw them into the deep end if we are playing poorly and we'll finish 'em.
Jamie, sorry to have to disagree but Hud isn't 'lazy', 'not the quickest' for sure, but he spent a lot of time reading the game for where he needed to be when Wilson left and utilised Livermores more atheltic ability by making quick passes, thereby reducing him overcommitting forwards and finding us caught out of positoin. So he sat back and read the play so he closed down advancing players at times before the pass was played to them. But when he needed to move he did.
When Playing with Wilson, wilson kept ropping back to protect the back line, increasing the distance between the two central mid, and reducing the effectivenes of Wilson's natural game of breaking up play and then making a quick pass to his central partner. Not his or hudds fault, they were just worried (and quite justifiabley) about our makeshift back line. Would be better with a more robust back four.
I have to conceed that I am naturally biased towards Hudd on two counts; firstly I can't see any other players who has the 'vision of the game' as it evloves and secondly as a defensive player myself I know that at times you have to sit off the play to see what is occuring before you commit to your position and who you are going to mark as a pre-emptive closing down of play. It's not a job that is noticed, but is nonetheless important. If you watch the highlights again you'll see what I mean.
There is another facet that i am not biased upon, as others appear to agree with me (and some disagree) and that is that no other player can turn defence to attack with the level of accuracey and speed of decision making that Hud has in his amoury. Not since Carrick have we seen someone who will look up (yes Mr Zokora and Mr JJ, look up first) and see what is on, before applying a range of passes with the accuracy that the aforementioned JJ could only dream of.
The Wembley cup taught us nothing new, it was disjointed but got game time and fitness for some key players, our wing backs look good going forward but are still suspect on their defensive duties, and finally it showed that we do need a leader on the pitch. Problem is that (and this is just my opinion) the best three people we have who have 'natural leadership qualities' are Woody, Ledley and Daws.
Which brings me on to Keane, enthusiastic - yes, skilled player - yes, but unfortuantely add to that 'confidence player'. He may add 'something to the dressing room'. But what we need is someone who adds to 'something on the pitch'. And that something is leadership. Now Keano has it in him to lead, but only by example not by his presence alone, it is not a natural trait of his from evidence to date, and when a form player is not on form that translates to the team dynamic.
What we need is Paul McKenna to 'look into his eyes, not around the eyes, but in the eyes' and get him to forget that he ever left, and that he doesn't miss his naturally gifted strike partner Bob-im-ov. And that he has all the skill and ability in the world to lead the team, by example.
Just don't get Derren Brown to do it, othewise he'll end up like Gallas - barking at the full moon.
agree totaly with you ronny
Fitness is all that matters and what goes on at the training ground. Harry has to have a clear and precise game plan otherwise we are fooked.
wow, I didn't mean for it to be that long!
Ronny, Hutton played with Lennon, because charlie was needed at CB. Turns out that Charlie makes a better RB than CB. I can see us reverting back to lennon and Charlie before the start of the season, when it really matters. This was more about game time, than seeing specific 'teams' as far as I can see.
Then again maybe Harry is actually a genius and he wanted to find out our frailties, and reduce complacency before the start of the season, rather than eight games in! (OK that's a stretch too far, I know)
We could motivate Keane by appointing him as "Ball Control Coach". Once he has imparted his skill in this area it will have the bonus effect of solving our bad passing game as well, since Keane's idea of a first touch is roughly equivalent to a Barcelona pass. This new responsibility will keep him happy while he sits on the bench waiting for a January exit to Hull or somewhere.
Tricky
Huddlestone IS lazy. Just not lazy, BUT very very lazy. I'm sick to death of seeing him put in 45mins of effort to only go missing in the second half. Livermore showed him up yesterday. Huddlestone relies on his passing to get him through games. The guy needs to remember that he needs to put in some effort every once in a while. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing him spray passes about the pitch with masterful control & accuracy (usually in the 1st half when he can be bothered). Then the second-half comes and he does naff all and it's like we're playing with 10 men, he's nowhere to be seen and the game bypasses him because he doesn't put the effort in in order to become involved.
He's a great player but he's got no heart or desire (or at leats he's never really shown any)
Hudd is a player that I would love to see succeed. He frustrates the hell out of me and even when I feel he simply isn't good enough I can't stand the thought of him playing for someone else.
I've been as disappointed as the rest of you with Keane since his return and honestly speaking, since he said he wanted to leave for Liverpool in the first place. Quite simply, he's not been the same player since he came back to the Lane.
However, I can't help but think this proposed Crouch signing might just invigorate him. Keane's finest moments on the pitch have come playing off another forward - he reaped the benefits playing up front for two seasons alongside Berbatov afterall. I'm not saying for a minute that Crouch is in anyway the next Dimitar Berbatov; but he might well be the next Nial Quinn who Keane played exceptionally well with for the Republic of Ireland.
I'm by no means a even a Peter Crouch fan particularly; he's ungainly and flat footed in my book, but I can see that he offers us a different route to goal than Pavluchenko or Bent, neither of who have done anything to enhance their reputations at WHL, and could provide Defoe or Keane a decent alternative to the headless and inaccurate runnings that Pav and Bent offer.
I can't see Huntelaar coming since AC Milan declared an interest, and Harry personally ruled out signing Negredo some time ago ("No. I know nothing about that either" he said,) so Crouch seems to be the alternative. If he coaxs something forgotten from Keane, he'll be more than worth the £10m transfer fee. If he doesn't, we can always sell him back to QPR for £60k, just like we did last time round!
Jamie, I hope you are wrong,. Not for personal reasons, but because I know that what you are talking about is the one criticism I have of him. it's the 100% mentality, and it's frustrating because of all the work he does do, most of which deos sometime go largely unnoticed, is let down by those five minute periods where he seems to lapse.
Solve that and there is no need to go looking for a replacement. If we don't then he is destined to be a bit part player. And I really want him to make it not just for spurs but because it is what England will miss when Gerrard and lumpolard retire from international football.
I was just trying to make the point that sometimes a central defender / defensive midfielder can look lazy, by doing the right things and shepherding play without actually moving too far or two quickly. So he's not as lazy as he looks sometimes, as he does read the game very well, certainly better than Zokora ever did.
And if you look at the scond half against celtic, we looked more of a threat for two reasons; Hudd was able to sit back and use Livermores zest and drive (In fact he reminds me of a younger, stronger and more focussed JJ I just hope his good to bad game ratio is better in the long term), and secondly Bent wasn't on the pitch.
In fact Livermore was probably the highlight of the entire tournament for us, shame it cost so much for so many tofind that out!
Oh yes, and the ITK's seem to be saying that Hutton will be going to everton for 7mil, meaning that Charlie will be back with Lennon, as it should be before the start of the season.
only people who know nothing about football rate keane ,he has never been great always flattered to decieve now just showing his true ability as does jenas while i`m here ,berbatov was a real class act but keane no chance , how many one on ones have you seen keane screw up , i lost count , out of the four strikers i`d like to see keane go because at least the others don`t moan & criticise everyone else , when they`re not even doing their own job (as keane does ) bent will still get you 17 goals a season even though not starting many , pav is still unproven must do it this one though ,defoe is a little diamond glad he came back , got injured missed aload of games but we all still love him ,t`riffic little player , but keane poor captain ,whinger , inconsistent & really gets on my tits & mind you don`t see how signing crouch is going to help both went to liverpool failed miserably because they are both average at best HUNTELAAR BRING HIM IN ,MAYBE THE NEXT KLINSMANN GOD WE MISS HIM
What I've noticed with Keane is he's more prominent alongside a striker who holds the ball up well. He initially flourished as Sheringham's partner, a lesser extent with Freddy Kanouté and Mido but more so with Berbatov.
Now, he has to do more work and I think the Liverpool experience shook his confidence. I truly believe he was thinking that the move and the idea of playing alongside Torres would be his partnership with Berbatov times ten. Within our striker force Pavlyuchenko has yet to find his feet after a grueling 16 months and Darren Bent doesn't have that skill in his repertoire as he is just the point man - a trait he shares with Michael Owen.
Crouch is surprising fleet of feet and does hold the ball up very well so if Keane does partner him he may do well; however I really see 'Arry partnering the skinny giant with Defoe, which leads to me another thing. Will Keane leave? I really cannot see him tolerating a role on the bench for an extended length of time.
The partnership I'm looking forward to is Crouch and Pavlyuchenko, it may cause defenders to completely rethink their approach; especially if the midfield steps it up. Word.
"How do we rejuvenate him?"
berbatov
The one thing I can see is Keane tollerating time on the bench, if ever there was a player who knew for a fact that 'the grass isn't always greener' then it's him. PLus go to a lesser team and take a pay cut, with the 50% tax bracket around the corner (and yes premier league rules state that all basic pay must be paye, hence arshavin a 'bit miffed' and looking to renegotiate after six months at goon central as the most recent report on that particualr issue) I really can't see that happening!
In my opinion we just looked a bit naff. Everyone looked unfit and not up for it. Fair enough if it was just a pre-season game but a lot of people paid a lot of money to go. It was at Wembley- a big occassion no matter what your playing for.
What annoyed me the most was the poor tactics against Barcelona. Defoe up front on his own? Surely thats a waste of time.
Usually i agree with you but I was bitterly disappointed this weekend,
It was a shit performance and I'd have liked to see Harry select as good a team possible and play with some intent. Waste of time really. For the players and the fans.
if we could get him scoring more and whingeing less ..... i for 1 would be happy .
can't see it though .... i feel the rejection of the bindippers coupled with the fact thet we haven't totally welcomed him back has left him in some kind of pointy shouty not score alot limbo .
play GDS, play Bostock and Rose ....fuck it even play prince boaetang
lets experiment with the centre and left of midfield as palacios lennon and modric should be the only certs in any of those positions !
Well I think we have to worry less about Bent's missed opportunities, as he has apparently been pulled off the plane to the China. Whether or not this is substantiated is not yet clear, but still say Crouch has more in his locker than bent, and it's a bigger locker!
And he has that Clancy bird.
for our leadership just get viera in the middle along side palacios with lennon and modric on eather side. simples...then put defoe up top beside someone who im hoping wont be crouch and also sell crouch, recall obika and put him in the squad
Keano is a much classier player than Defoe....or Crouch, for that matter (any old player can play for England......). Keano creates where only the very best create. He has had a torrid time in recent months...and the rubbish that has been thrown at him is not going to improve either his form or his demeanor! He has nothing at all to prove at WHL. He has paid his dues....a hundred fold so get off his back.
The more pressing challenge could be what to do with 'Arry and his apparent inability to take us into the Top 4? It is not so much his ability etc but the clubs desire to forget the past 5 seasons. The Ramos year was pivotal....and should have continued where Jol left off? We had everything in our favor....apart from a really committed club hierarchy? Harry does not seem to be able to motivate the players that he now has in his squad. Yes, he is a 'happy chappy' and a real 'Lad' but does he know how to take THFC any further than mid table? I wonder! The proposed Crouch deal (if it exists) will be another nail in our already 'lid heavy' coffin. From rumors (unsubstantiated) both in the Press and Net, Harry wants to take us back to his League comfort zone (anywhere between 8th and 16th) and bedecked in a Union Jack style strip? The BIG clubs have long since realized that the top managers are from outside England and perhaps, when the penny finally drops, we will get a better idea of where we should hide this season?
The treatment that several of our, potentially, better players get at the hands of the management, will tell us lots? Dos Santos, and the other younger players, will not stick around for long IF they see no chance to shine under Harry & Co. The Grave Yard at WHL is over populated.....COYS!
Maybe Keano looked so good the previous two seasons and struggled last year becasue he did not have the squirrel boy fedding him?
Bang on the money Iron City. Keane looked and played brilliantly because he had a brilliant son of a bitch playing alongside him.
Batten down the hatches. It's official:
http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/crouchdealagreed270709.html
Not a bad goal scoring rate to be fair.
Hmmmm, very similar to an article I wrote, in fact same title!!!! REF!!!!!! He's plagiarising me!!!! ;)
Very true words Spooky.
@ tricky ... So he's not as lazy as he looks sometimes, as he does read the game very well, certainly better than Zokora ever did. ... well that's not hard now is it :-)
But i can understand your point , being a central mid myself for bout 15 years now, that players can appear lazy but are just taking their time to read the game. But i rarely have the impression that he is doing that , i m mostly apalled by the fact that he doesnt attack the ball or put in the effort (or at least not for the whole game)
And for such a big strong lad he's just so easily left behind ...
And yeah he does link up play better then anyone else but almost entirely because of his technique and passing , rarely because he puts in the extra mile to get an even better position on the pitch. If you have such a natural gift and earn so much money ... then just show a bit of spirit please hud, we all want him to succeed mind you ... but if he doesnt get it by now well then i m afraid he never will
Prove me wrong Hud , i d be very happy to admit the error in my views ...
BaconYid - link me up dude.
Sorry, how silly of me to forget, damn work!!!!
http://www.footballnewsblog.co.uk/premiership/how-do-you-solve-a-problem-like-robbie-keane/
How's Keano going to restore his confidence if he is warming the bench while the others are banging them in?
What's an opion? QSpurs, you're the kind of idiot that makes Spurs supporters so hated by other supporters. As for the rest of you lot, Keane is a poacher and was never a man that "consistently" put in terrific performances.
Until they can get a world class striker and a left winger to compliment the little guy on the right, Spurs will always struggle to break into the top 4. Believe it or not Spurs fans, Berbatov leaving is the second most detrimental thing that has happened at the Lane. Ramos has left us with a crap squad and Harry would be credited for putting a better squad in place if it weren't for consistently playing that useless little Irish midget.
Jenas will have a breakout season with Modric and Palacios running the midfield and opening up holes. I'm really worried about the defence being healthy and Charlie not being able to link up with the little guy. If Spurs stay healthy then this club will go places.
