Half-time: Utd 2 Spurs 0

I wish for once we wouldn't lube up and bend over for Utd.

This is why playing a make-shift side doesn't work. Lack of continuity equates to disjointed effort. Can't fault the football played by us, but there's a distinct lack of cutting edge or final killer ball and finish and it's been punished by two great Gibson goals, both of his efforts invited on by a statuesque Spurs defence. Our inability to perform with belief against the Red Devils has taken a firm and savage bite out of our Lilywhite backside. Again. And no need for a helping hand from the ref either. We lack any type of punch.

You can argue Utd have two undeserved goals based on balance of play, but if our players are going to stand and watch then be prepared to be embarrassed.

For all the possession, it's been powder-puff. Bentley has to sharpen up, Wilson has to pass the ball to team-mates rather than into space or a red shirt. Bale has looked useful (going forward). And the fringe players should be making a statement of intent for Harry to make note of. At the minute, their words can barley be heard.

Second half to bring us joy? We can dream. Early goal from us and we might have a better second half. Defence has to work as a unit and the forwards have to be a tad more alert.

Urgency please. In abundance.

Yeah I know. Those Chelsea boys really did a number on you lot. Fucking smashed you all over the place. And to think they did it what that useless never does anything up front Drogba. But let's not talk about that. It;s a Spurs blog after all.

Ollie, don't feed the troll.

Anyone else think our players aren't really giving it any type of sustained go? All seems a bit wishy washy at the moment. Should have started with as close to the team we had at Villa as possible.

Indeed mate. Spurs blog it is, well spotted. So it'd be a bit weird if I just pitched up and posted my thoughts on Sunday wouldn't it? Not sure how you figure anyone from our lot thinks Drogba is pony either, if that's what you're inferring.

Not the smartest are ya pal? Jog on.

ROFLMAO

Bit insecure are you Goonerjake, larding it up on a Spurs blog. Pwopah nawteee innit.

This game will finish 3-0. Interest from the players is practically zero.

Yeah, your manager rates him highly you pedantic bore.

Harry will learn from this though.....JJ is so poor! Hud has come on and is having a stinker. Spurs seem to have a mental block when playing away at the top four. This United side is no better than the Villa team we battered on Saturday. I know we have made a few changes but we just haven't done enough in the final 3rd. It doesn't help when two goals like that go in but you have to show more fight and mental strength. They haven't showed any belief that they can get back into the game. Maybe they are thinking about the league...???

Boring this game. Harry has proved he doesn't give a rats arse about the CC, which is a bit stupid considering a semi-final (was) 90 mins away.

Waste of a journey for the boys who travelled up there. It's playing out like a reserve game.

Yeah but the players should work a bit harder??? It's not a bloody practice match, Some real lazy performances here. Bale has done well, so credit to him. Kranjcar is so much better than JJ. What a difference he makes.
Hope this is a flash in the pan and we get back to business against Everton.

"you pedantic bore."

Yeah, that's what people usually say to someone who is right. LMAO

Please can somebody sign Bentley.... The man is a complete crock of shit, one paced and no brain...

Spurs started out on the right foot but Gibson's goals knocked the wind of the boys.

There's always next year... sadly.

That shouldn't knock the wind out of the boys though should it? Where is the reaction? The second half was so poor. Some of them were not interested at all. Harry have a word with them after that display!

Since when did 8 first teamers in the starting XI constitute as a "make-shift" side?

Dec 1, 2009 at 10:35 PM | Unregistered CommenterChazza

Bentley played. It's make-shift.

Harry has just said it was dead out there. Ofcourse it was and it was up to the Spurs players to inject a bit of urgency into things. But instead they didn't have any belief in theirselves and looked like a shadow of Saturday at Villa. Spurs will win nothing until Jenas is shipped out, he's a fu***ng waste of space.
Hutton and Bale were the only new intro's that tried do do a nights work. Bassong said yesterday that he didn't care about the CC and it showed tonight.
Very dissapointing and Spurs will have to get rid of this 'low self esteem' with the likes of Man U, Chelski and the Gooners or it's goodbye 4th place.
