Twente quid on Spurs to win

Hola.

You'll have to excuse me today. Had no pre-written blog posts from the night before scheduled to go live this afternoon, due to other commitments. Mostly sleep. So no mentalist battle cry or in-depth over the top unnecessary formation chit chat, mainly because it's all been done to death already. And let's be fair, if our players fail to turn up tonight, may God have mercy on all the knees within White Hart Lane. And not forgetting the broadband pipes that will explode with bandwidth misery as fans across the country and the world punch-type their keyboards with despairing post-match anger.

But they won't, will they, not with Huddlestone rallying the troops post-game.

SHudder.

It's a mid-week game. It's an evening kick-off. It's Europe. It's got all the necessary ingredients for a Glory Glory night with that added spice of being the first ever Champions League group game in N17.

As long as that other all important ingredient gets added to flavour it all up nicely, we should be a-ok.

So, over to the 11 Lilywhites and the chef. Stir it up. I want to feast and feel bloated with happiness. And not left starved, ending the night with a migraine.

It's in your hands, THFC.

P.S. Got something lined-up for future match-days and events. Embedded updates. Sexy. Something for all you peeps that like to interact when watching dodgy internet streams and read my minute-by-minute match updates. Slicker than just updating blog articles like I did here. There's about a 5% chance of testing it during tonight's game. Depends if I get a spare second before going out.

*If only I hadn't bunked off Sunday School, I'd be able to spell this word properly.

What a night. More than makes up for the depression of last week.

Ye pav didn't do much in first half but didn't get much service.I only remember a scuffed shot from a hudd knockdown.I thought he was excellent in the last half hour.if only he could produce that for 90 mins.maybe he'll take confidence from this game and get some form back.

Hutton-great going forward, dodgy at the back.kaboul seems to be best option for right back right now

Even my missus was slating Crouch and Pav last night.....
She did make a good point though. The pair of them seem to just loiter around waiting for the ball to come to them, then do sod all with it. Like she said, at least you know JD is going to have a go when he gets the ball. With Crouch and Pav you know they're just going to either flick it to no-one or lose the ball instantly.

She also reckons Modric doesn't get enough credit.

Walkerboy - your missus sounds like a very intelligent woman. She should replace tweedle d and tweedle dum (the two alans) that seem to commentate on all spurs games for skysports, despite clearly not likely spurs. They were saying modric was having a poor game! While he wasn't as involved as he usually is (possibly due to vdV being on the pitch) he was still effective with the ball when he did get it and didn't loose possession. Thats what I want to see from our players. Clearly these tw@ts have not a clue what they are talking about. Then after the game you have 3 pundits one of which saying all three penalties shouldn't have been given. Guess who that was.....Giovanni van Bronckhorst (ex-scum for those that don't know) surprise surprise. Why was he even there other than fact he was dutch?!?! He never played for Twente. Sky Sports is run by a bunch of Imbeciles!

Walkerboy...The ladies simply 'love' Modric. While its a bit easy for them to slate 3MP.

That was a good result and I think we played better after going a man down because - miraculously - Harry made the correct decision and got rid of 3MP. We really do seem to have a good team. However, the efficiency of this hoofing thing has/needs to be reviewed if we are to progress and make a mark in this competition. I'm sure it would work better as a plan 'C' instead of plan 'A'....I mean, did you see our "Barcelona-esque" passing when 3MP left? Imagine if we played like that with VDV on the pitch?

So many times in the first half VDV was literally begging Bale (...not slating him. Would never) to pass the ball to him but the wonder-boy always optioned to hoof it to our 'talisman' as per instructions. Its really not necessary to base our attack on one of the poorest players. Did anyone see 3MP's solo counter attack? Jeez!

That said...here we go to the San Siro to face Samuel Eto'o (before the game all papers will sadly :-( remind us that he almost signed for us before he left Mallorca) ...and VDV's twin wonderbrother W.Sneidjer. They just demolished Werder Bremen 4-0. Somehow I'm not afraid of them. Because? We have Bale! and luck is on our side...for some reason 3MP will be unavailable.

We need Bale in midfield unless we can turn him into the full back Cyril Knowles was - able to defend and well as attack . Can BAE play 2 games in so few days - perhaps we should be looking for cover at left back so Bale does not have to play there when BAE not fit . Must rotate the squad Saturday - I am sure last night would have taken something out of them . Vila strong up front Heskey will be a handful if Bassong only fit centre back couple with the pace of Young it will be a tricky game .

VDV & Bale made me moist last night.

For all the criticism of Bassong lately , i found him to be pretty strong yesterday. Aided by our strong Bionic man off course but still decent show by Bassong

Arry is Pep in disguise.....

Finding the second goal would have given us three points and I'm beginning to think this will cost us across the season. Is it really that difficult to apply pressure and rattle the opposition for a second? I guess it is with our strikers. But if VDV was playing we might have and if we had someone else up front instead of Crouch (like a new player)...?? In other words we need to improve in one or two areas and then prove its not down to tactics or formation by scoring that second.

Jurys out.
